Chapter 6

ELARA'S POV

The temperature in the room quickly rises, the burning smell quickly hits my nose. Strong, almost making me cough. Immediately, I darted towards Damon, pausing in front of him. And at first, my brain went numb. What should I do?

I raised my head up staring at the red flames as it engulfed the whole space. " Help!" I screamed.

My wolf pushed forward, and immediately. I felt being dragged back into the dark part of me. I just watched as it controlled my hands and legs, and we rushed towards Kade. Kneeling beside him, and with that, she carried him in a bridal style.

I couldn't feel my legs and feet, but I knew we were moving, moving very fast as we dropped him on the couch. The fire hadn't gotten into this side of the mansion, and it was still safe. With that, we rushed back into the blazing fire, and slowly we helped Damon and Raine out of the fire as well.

Almost immediately, I got control of my body back. I stared at the smoke as it slowly engulfed the room. I could perceive it. The smell alone stunk my nose bitterly causing me to cough. I searched through the whole flaming rooms for Kai and Luna, maybe I would hear Luna's faint cry again.

"Luna!" I called, and waited for seconds hoping she would reply, maybe she would even cry, but she didn't. Her voice was just gone.

I turned quickly only to find Marcus standing there arms crossed above his chest, he narrowed his eyes, his brows furrowed as he stared into my soul. " I told you something had happened," I said, my voice shook violently. I didn't even care about the flames at all.

It slowly melted my skin, but I could sense my wolf's strong power rising in me. And healing every single burn. I didn't feel anything.

Marcus just stared at me, he kept quiet for a while, and finally he opened his mouth. " Get her before she loses control again." He said, his voice strong.

Damn! Is he crazy? Can't he see my kids are not here? "Are you crazy?" I screamed.

One moment I was standing right here amidst the fire, staring at him with my blood boiling, and the next, I was standing right beside him. Almost immediately, I landed a tight punch across his face.

At last, Raine's training wasn't a waste.

" F**k you, b*stard." I shouted, quickly dashing out of the mansion.

My instinct kicked in as my wolf senses also heightened. Almost immediately,I leapt into the air. The cracking of bones filled the air. I felt the pain rush through my veins like a bolt of lightning, tiny explosions at the back of my head. But I didn't stop, I released my wolf fully.

Landing on all fours, my wolf raised its head up sniffing the air sharply. And everything just rushed in, the muddy damp smell, the faint smoky smells from the burning mansion, and one strong smell of liquor. It was so strong and suspicious. But, beneath everything a sweet rose smell stood out.

Wasting no time to think everything over, my wolf sprang into action. Ears perked up, as we hopped towards the woods.

Although it was a developed pack, the forest was just a few meters away from the elite mansion. My mind drifted back to Damon, I just hope he's alright. On the other hand, Kade. The pull from the mate bond was strong, but the love for my kids was much stronger.

Their survival is at stake. My babies. They must come back to me. “Kai, Luna. Wait for me. Mumma's coming” I whispered to myself. At the back of my mind assuring myself.

The path became eerily foggy as soon as my wolf got deep into the forest. And immediately, we stopped. "Ow!" Letting out a ferocious howl. Loud, sharp, precise.

And at that moment, tiny footsteps vibrated through the earth, sharp. It was fast and steady. It didn't get closer, but it continued making its sounds.

"Ah!" A loud feminine voice could be heard. From afar.

My wolf growled, sending tremors through the woods. It raised its head facing the sun and immediately, it howled again. This time, louder, sharper and stronger than the last.

The waves echoed through the forest, I could feel the power as it surged through me as well. I was getting stronger, powerful. I will burn the kidnappers of my kids to ashes when I lay my hands on them.

Out of the blue, a woman fell right in front of us. She was totally battered, clothes thorn, her eyes, bleeding all over. She wasn't terrified, there was a strange energy that was around her. I could feel it.

My wolf sniffed, taking a step towards her. "Ah ah ah!" She laughed out loud, her voice echoed through the space.

"Err" immediately, my wolf sprang into battle mode, she snarled.

" Elara dear," the woman said, her voice tiny but rough at a point. "Beware the bread that is only bun in shape, and the child is only child in face. The hungriest deception is the one that wears the skin of your love." She said, her voice low and husk. Almost immediately, she misted.

" Mum!" I could hear Luna's cry again. Her voice was the same, faint and soft. "Mum!" Kai.

Their voices, my babies, they are alright. Immediately, I sprinted toward the spot their voice came from like that of a hungry lion. I'm coming to my dears...

I came to a halt, my breath hitched, they were tied. Damn! Who did this?

Immediately, I transformed back. Taking them both into my arms. The cold chill of the wind quickly sank into my body. My veins vibrated beneath my skin. " My dear, how did this happen?" I asked.

Immediately, I dropped them quickly, loosing the knots on them. And finally my kids were safe. "Thank goodness, you are alright." I said, tears slowly cascaded down my cheek as I drew them both into a warm hug.

Their familiar scent hit my nose, but something was off, this time, their skin was cold and there was something not quite right with their scent. And I could feel my wolf's unease, as if saying something was wrong. But I shoved it off, nothing is and would be wrong.

Without wasting any time, I transformed again. This time, it was easy. More easy than I thought It would ever be. I quickly took both of them on my back as I sprinted back towards the pack...

Slowly I approached the mansion, with my kids on my back. I paused, staring at the mansion itself. The mighty opulent oak door, with ancient calved designs on them. And right between the door frame, Marcus stood there, his arms crossed above his chest eyes lasered on me.

The bitter smell of chemicals hit my nose quickly. And if I was in my human form I knew I would puke. I moved closer and closer to the oak mansion, and with every step I took, my heart brazed itself.

I walked past Marcus heading straight into the mansion, and for one moment my mind drifted back to the lady I saw, her words. She even knew my name. She could disappear as well.

I shook my head not wanting to think much about it. The house was in good shape like nothing had happened, no fire, everything was just calm and cozy somehow.

"Did you get them back?" I heard a familiar feminine voice behind me.

Quickly, I turned. Raine. She was awake already. She held a cloak. With that she helped Luna and Kai down. Before wrapping a cloak around my wolf's body.

Immediately, I transformed back to my human form. I could not help but remain flabbergasted. I stared at my hands before lowering my head to look at my legs. My white skin matches the opulent marble.

" No." I said instinctively.
