Elara's Pov
" No." I said, subconsciously. " You can't take me for another test. I have proven myself already." I said, turning my head sharply.
What does the elite want? The question kept roaming at the back of my head. So as the woman's words. But, I couldn't think straight anymore. I need to stop this elite madness.
" I said, capture her." Marcus said, his voice loud echoing through the space.
" I said no!" I snapped, a strong energy surged through my veins, releasing itself through the tip of my index finger. I felt it, but didn't see anything. Just like nothing had happened. Not even a single thing.
I watched as the air paused, and Marcus? He fell to his knees. My head snapped to the left, I saw Raine standing there, motionless.
She stood beside the stairs, with Luna and Kai in her hands. 'Stop." I thought to myself, or that was just what it looks like. But, it felt like something answered me immediately and everywhere suddenly became free again.
"She is losing control," Marcus said,
Behind him, Malachi came in, a wide grin tugged across his lips, his face slightly wrinkled. His broad chest pushed forward and his hands were in his pocket. He leaned closer to Marcus' ear, whispering something. Something my wolf ear caught brieflyーDone.
The word came out low and menacing, what has he done? What were they talking about? I stared at them, my brows furrowed.
" Raine?" I called, my breath hitched as I wrapped the cloak tightly around myself to prevent being loose. " Where is Damon?" I asked, my voice low but steady.
"Alpha Damon and Alpha Bane are both in the pack hospital." She said, lowering her head.
I raised my left eyebrow, questionably. But, I didn't say a word, what did I expect? Almost immediately, I felt a strong grip around my wrist. I raised my head to look at him, only for his lips to be moving really fast as if chanting a low mantra.
I felt a wave of fatigue rush over me. My muscles became stiff, and heavy. And slowly, my eyes slid shut. "Luna. Kai" It came out softly like a low mumble...
Slowly, my eyes fluttered open, a low grunt escaped my lips. The whole space was pitch black, but thanks to my wolf's vision I could see through it. I stared calmly at the space.
As soon as I was about to stand up, I noticed something. With that, I jerked my hand only for a wave of electricity to shoot through me.
"Ahh!" I grunted. Trying to break myself free from this unknown restraint was a big problem.
I lowered my gaze to check my hands, but I couldn't see it clearly. All I knew was that I was sitting on a chair with legs crossed.
“Hmm!” My mouth was sealed, I could not scream. Not even a word. I kept screaming on and on, but there was nobody. Not even a single soul coming into the room.
I stared at the space, it was pitch black, I could see nothing. Multiple questions filled my mind, how is Luna and Kai? How were they doing? How were they surviving? What was happening to them?
I closed my eyes, trying to channel my last bit of energy, hoping my wolf would come out, and maybe she would just listen to my pups' plea. And she would unravel her powers.
Right now, I was powerless, there was nothing I could do, the wolf I once felt was no longer there.
The lady's words just kept playing in my head. It was like a prophecy, like a dream, like everything I could describe it as. But, I never understood the whole thing she said.
I remembered the moment I arrived back into the manor, the way Raine looked at me. The way everything just looked like an illusion, an illusion that might ruin everything. An illusion that might be a proof.
The images of what I saw flashed at the back of my head. The way Kade had laid flat in a pool of his own blood, and Damon slumped on the floor. It was fishy, either way it was an attack. And the targets were my kids.
Tears welled up in my eyes, it was like… I was fooled, and not only that, I became a pawn in a game that was played against me.
My kids were taken away before, so they could get a hold of me. So I wouldn't ruin things for them, so I would be able to make things work. So I will be the council's first battered achievements.
The door swung open, revealing my one big enemy, Marcus. He had a smile on his face as he hinged forward, his hands across his waist. I could just stare at him. Doing nothing. I was helpless. And helplessness was not an option right now.
I tried to lose my hand, wriggling and maintaining a slight force, trying all my possible best to pry my hands out of the ropes, but it was useless.
“Well well,” he said. “ It seems I won and you lost, Silver Alpha.” He said, spreading his hands into the air dramatically.
“ F**k you!” I snapped, my voice echoing the whole dark room. I didn't have any strength left, it was as if my whole strength was drained out.
“You won't be the one to say that in the next few days.” He said, smirking.
“ F**k you!” I yelled again. Almost immediately, I felt a sharp surge of pain run through my veins. “ Ahh!!!” A loud guttural sound leapt out my throat.
Tiny explosions at the back of my head as if there was a tiny hammer there used to hit my skull. My eyes became glassy, it burned with tears as I could feel my vein pop out that second.
“You are meant to suffer dear.” He said, circling me.
“You insolent bastard!” I yelled, “ all because of your stupid rules you became heartless.” I spat at his face as he stepped in front of me.
“You know what?” He said, leaning forward to look into my eyes, he raised his right hand, I could just watch as he sank his right hand into my hair. “ Your pups are kinda interesting.” He said.
For one second I felt that slight energy rush through my veins, like it was just hiding and waiting for the right time to strike.
With one swift move, I jerked my head out of his grip, almost immediately, I tilted my head backward, and with a swift push, I landed a tight hit. Our heads collided together. Immediately, my eyes blurred, I felt the pain all over. A cold shiver ran down my spine
“ Urgh!” He grunted, gripping his head.
In a blur of motion, a thunder-like force landed across my face forcing my head to the side. I felt my body tremble. Warm sweat swivelled down my body.
My cheek burned, warm tears cascaded down my cheek. “Don't you dare touch my kids,” I warned my voice, cold as steel.
“Interesting.” He said, sharply turning and heading out of the room.
“Do not touch my kids, Marcus!” I screamed, my voice loud. “Ah, ah, ah, ah!” I cried.
I could just stare at the blank darkness…
I was left for as many hours as I could have imagined. Maybe it was never hours, maybe days. I lost count of every single second.
I was left with my heartbeat alone… it was the only thing that made sound in this room. It was all like the whole room was sound proof and I was just the only one here.
I could just count every second as my heart beats… 1… 2… 3… 4… 20… and as long as it would be. Thump…. Thump… Thump… every time my heart thumped I knew a second had passed.
'Mum,’ Luna's voice played at the back of my mind. I listened as Kai laughed in my heart.
“Luna, Kai, I will make sure to survive.” I said to myself. “I will be out of here. I will not die.”
The words left my mouth, tears rolled down my cheeks. I had been locked up in this darkness for hours now.
My stomach churned from pain, it began grumbling. I swallowed my spit, I was parched. My throat was dry, the only source of water was my tears.
Suddenly, a strange smell hit my nose. It was more like a stench and a lavender oil smell mixed. But, I couldn't pin point. Nothing could smell so bad.
I was literally on this chair, my legs were numb, it was typically tied down to the chair. I couldn't even touch the ground, and my legs were wet, and I knew that it was on the water surface.
Suddenly, the whole place turned white, it beamed into my eyes. And for one moment I quickly closed them. And as I opened it up, I was met with something I haven't seen ever.
It looked more like a drilling machine, but suddenly. It began transforming.
My heart sank, what are they really up to?
