Something crashed into Estelle’s side, sending her flying into the nearest wall. Pain exploded in her back as she hit the stone, and darkness descended in front of her eyes. The anger rising inside of her pushed the pain away, and she stumbled to her feet, leaning on the wall for support. She didn’t expect him to actually hurt her, her so-called friend, but she guessed what people said about learning who your true friends were during your hardest moments was really true. “Estelle, please! I don’t want to hurt you! You’re my friend!” he pleaded as she raised her hands in front of her and pursed her lips to stop a moan as a sharp pain pierced her shoulder.
