A surprised scream made Jaden look back just as the soldier that was running behind them got toppled to the ground by one of the demons chasing them. It was a small creature, barely bigger than a dog, but despite its size, it overpowered its victim easily. Jaden squeezed Isabelle’s hand as she tried to go back, forcing her to keep running. She glared at him, but he just shook his head. The soldier had already stopped screaming. “Hurry up!” Anitra shouted at the end of the corridor, looking around frantically as she waited for them to catch up. When they emerged into the main hallway, Jaden looked around, trying to figure out where they were exactly.
