Chapter 4

AMBRA POV'S

He was looking at me all through our lunch. I tried to glance at him from time to time but I couldn't keep my eyes off him. His face screams perfection. I can't deny the attraction I'm starting to feel for him, but I'm sure he is not the kind of guy that wants to settle. I'm pretty sure he has all the girls he wants. I can't hide that the idea of him doesn't feel right to me. 

Once we are done eating we got back to our work, but something felt different like he was trying to get closer to me. Suddenly he started to ask questions, like what was my favourite colour, or my favourite food it was quite enjoyable. I mean I appreciated his effort, feeling bold:

- why don't we go grab dinner together? I heard that new sushi opened downtown, why don't we go try it?-

He looked at me like I was growing tentacles from my head, so I assumed it was a no,

- I shouldn't have asked, I mean we don't even really know each other- I trailed off, but suddenly his face turned in a warm smile, the kind of smile that makes your heart flutter.

- No, please let's go, I didn't answer only because I didn't expect you to ask me out- 

- I'm a woman but that doesn't mean I can't take the initiative, just let me grab my purse and we can go-

As we exit the house I start walking toward the bus stop, but he looks at me and he takes my arm and stops me. 

- Tell me you didn't think we would have used the bus to go downtown, let's take my car -

I look at him and I'm frozen in my spot, since my mother and sister incident I couldn't bring myself to ride a car anymore, but I can't tell him, and with him, I don't know why but I feel safe and calm, so I simply nod following him, also there was this twinkling sensation where his skin touched mine, that even if it was weird it spread pleasure all through my body

EZRA POV'S

When she asked me out I couldn't believe it, I was thinking about doing so, but she did it before I couldn't find the courage. Since I realized I can't stay away from her, all I can do is try to get to know her better and make her fall for me. She is so brilliant and funny, she looks like she is so fragile, but she has a fire inside, I can feel it. Once we got out of the car she walked through the bus stop, but to stop her without thinking I took her arm, and sparks shot through my arm, I know for her must have been just a twinkling sensation, but for me was so intense that I thought my knees were going to give out on me, trying to sound as normal as I could I mustered to say:-Tell me you didn't think we would have used the bus to go downtown, let's take my car - She looked at me like she was scared to death to get into the car, but eventually she nod and followed me. 

Once in the car I could tell she was nervous, she was torturing her hands, but she didn't look like she wanted to talk about it, so I decided to play some music from Spotify, asking her what kind of music she was into, she barely acknowledged my presence, something was off. Once at the sushi place, she sprint out of the car and it looked like nothing happened.

I've never been to sushi, but she suggested it, and I couldn't bring myself to tell her, but I can tell she already figured it out when I looked at the chopstick and couldn't understand how to use them. She ordered all sorts of things, asking me to try everything, it felt so natural and right to be sitting with her and experimenting with those new things. She giggled every time I made a disgusted face, but she the thing that made her cry from laughing was when I tried the wasabi sauce, I didn't know it was spicy, I think I drank a bottle of water in a gulp. She was so beautiful, and I could listen to her laugh forever. 

The ride home was easier, she looked more relaxed, still, she wasn't talking, but I think with time she'll tell me everything. Once we stepped on the porch she looked for the keys and unlocked the door when she turned, I wished her goodnight and I gave her an innocent but protective kiss on her forehead, she looked at me and she blushed, she whispered goodnight and she locked the door after her. Once I knew she was safe, I went back home.

AMBRA

That night after he left I couldn't help but smile like a child in a candy shop, maybe it meant nothing but he still kissed my forehead and waited till I was locked inside. He didn't try anything, he was a gentleman all through our night. I don't understand why I feel this pull towards him, that if he asked me to kiss me I probably would have said yes. Once I regain a little composure I get ready for bed and I can't help but think of him while I fall asleep. 

The next morning I don't have classes so instead of working at night I asked to work during breakfast time and lunch if needed. So at 6.30 am I was heading to the diner. I'm not an early person, but this has to do if I want to have time to ask Ezra out tonight (yes I decided that he was worth trying, He seemed interested in me last night so why hold back?). While I was thinking about him my phone rang, looking at the ID I saw it was Ezra (speaking of the devil). The text said: 

Morning Ambra, I hope I'm not going to wake you up, but I was wondering if you had any plans for tonight. if you are free we can hang out a little. Let me know :)

Reading the text I was smiling like never before, he was asking me out, lucky me I changed my shifts. Without even thinking I was already texting him back:

Morning Ezra, don't worry, why don't we have dinner and then maybe watch a movie at my place? Why don't we meet at 7 

I didn't want to sound desperate for him, but I was so excited. The morning shift went by quite easily, and around 3 pm I was done working and while I was stepping out from the diner 2 guys started to follow me, The sun was high and illuminating all the streets so I didn't want to get too worried but I had this feeling inside me telling me I wasn't safe, so I pulled my phone from my pocket pretending to be taking a call, but that didn't matter, they grabbed me and pulled me in a side road and they began to touch me, pulling my hair, slapping me and while one of the two was having his way with me the other one kept beating me. I tried to free myself but couldn't, so I went still and waited for them to finish. Once they were done I was left there like I was nothing. I was 3 minutes from home, so I slowly got up and dragged myself home. I didn't realize how much time I spent in that place till I saw Ezra on my front porch, like sensing me he turned and once he saw me his face went from happy, to worried, and there was hurt too. He ran to me and he took me in his arms, in that moment feeling safe I blacked out.

EZRA

I was so happy when she said she would have seen me that night. I was thinking about telling her about my kind, and about mates, Since last night I couldn't stop thinking about her, and how it would have felt to always have her close to me. She said to meet her at seven at her place, but when I got there I could tell no one was inside the hose, so I waited for a bit, when I was almost ready to call her, her smell intoxicated me, I turned around smiling but that smile quickly went away when I saw her, she was completely covered in bruises and there was blood on her lips, on her hands and on her legs. I rushed to her feeling like my world was collapsing any moment, she was hurt, badly hurt. When I got my arms around her small frame she collapsed. I put her in the car and without thinking I went straight to the pack hospital. Once there the doctors took her from me and started to examine her. Suddenly I hear screaming and I can tell it's her. I run towards where the doctors were taking care of her and I saw a nurse give her something that made her fall asleep. 

- What happened?! EXPLAIN NOW-  I use my alpha command on them, one of the doctors came forward and told me:

- Alpha, she was beaten pretty badly she has a broken arm, a few cracked ribs, but mostly she has been r***d, by at least two men, I took a sample of some of their semen and I'm running a DNA test, trying to see if I can get some names.-

- Doctor why there is blood on her tights?-

- My guess is that they took her first time.-

At that moment I lose it, Eniach which has been growling in my mind non-stop takes full control of my body, I turn towards the exit and take off running. I ran for hours till I was exhausted. I went back home took a shower and head back to the hospital. I spent there the entire night waiting for her to wake up.
