When Lucas spoke aloud there was nothing I could do. The plan was set in stone. If Sofia were spying, going against our own plans would let her know we were on to her. My Alpha gave the order, and I couldn’t go against it. I just had to trust that Lucas and Carson would keep her safe.
But that didn’t mean I had to stay idle.
I caught up with Carson as he was leaving the pack house, falling in step with him as he walked back to the village. He didn’t acknowledge me.
Halfway to through the village I finally gathered the nerve to speak.
