Chapter 4 : First Day

I feel like Im starting to be weird since yesterday. I've question myself if I have a split personality. So, I can appoint a schedule for check up to the psychiatrist.

That was the first time that my inner self fought against each other. Is this normal or what?

And why did I became stupid right now. Did Luiz stupidness infect me?

Of all these years, this is the another first time I've experience so far.

"Mr. Johnsons, would you like to re-heat the soup?" one of the maid ask me, that brings me to the reality.

"Yes, please." I said and she look to me surprised.

"What on earth?! Did I really say please, seriously?" I retorded in my mind.

She hold the bowl and bow a little then? head to the kitchen of the mansion.

Last time if there's something that they would ask to me inside in the mansion. I just gave them a nod to say yes or I'll gonna shake my head to say no.

"Now, Im gonna appoint a schedule for check up later." I remind or just like taking a mental note.

"Here it is, Mr. Johnsons." one of the maid said and laid the soup. I answer her with my famous nod in the mansion.

I am now currently driving my Lambo on my way to the company. Still tapping my finger on the steering wheel and mesmerizing the accident that happened yesterday night.

But I immediately shake my head off when her smile popped out in my head.

"This is bad." I said in my mind.

I tighten my grip on the steering wheel and double my speed to catch up the time.

As time goes by, I successfully park my car and brought the breifcase with me when Im going out from my Lambo.

I am walking my way to the company. I raise my hand while holding the car key and press the lock button. I heard my Lambo at my back.

I wear my usual black tuxedo, inner white long sleeve, red long tie, black formal pants, and my usual black leather shoes.

"Good morning, Mr. Johnsons." my assistants said in unison, when I passed by to them.

And as usual, I didnt greet back.

We march our way to the elevator, when I felt something missing or the events of my daily enter in the elevator has a lost piece.

"Ah, the schedule." I said only in my mind.

Fuentes press my office floor, as the elevator close the door.

"Salazar, where's the secretary?" I ask him and I take a peek to my wristwatch to find out it's nearly 8 o'clock in the morning.

"She's currently at your office sir. Settling her things on the secretary's table." he answer politely and I answer him only my famous nod or I shall say my signature nod to agree.

The elevator bings, a sign that we are on the office floor. I walked out in the elevator with dominance.

I heard them say the usual morning greetings to me. But the usual me, didn't greet back to them.

"It's rude you didn't greet back." a familiar sweet voice lingering in my ears that make me stop to take another walk and face her with no emotion written on my face.

"Damn it!" I shout in my mind.

She was wearing a brown skirt, a flowy white off shoulders, nude sandals, her hair was tied into a ponytail, her hair was shiny and has a curly ends color brown, and I saw her radiant welcoming smile again.

"Just walk! Do your usual doings!" I added in my mind. I start to walk my way to my office, with my mind and inner self fought each other.

"She's just a newbie!" I retorted to my mind and laid my breifcase on the other table inside in the office.

"Schedule?" I said, when I got settled in my seat.

"Good morning too, Mr. Johnsons." she replied and smile at me that makes me slowly bow my head and grab the paper in my side to sign, but it was totally done yesterday.

"Since you moved all your sched yesterday. Your schedule will be 9am-9:45am meeting with Mr. William. 1:30pm meeting with Mr. Montefalco. 3pm online meeting with Mr. Alwabari from Dubai. 4:25pm meeting about new lot agreement with the lot owner for the plantation of grapes." she recite when she was reading on the ipad and then smile again to me.

"Damn those smile! And why would I rant my inner self to her smile?!" I silently rant on my mind.

I was brought to reality when someone suddenly barged in without knocking and I know it was my only dear stupid friend.

Michael Luiz Montevallo.

"ELIJAH! I've been calling you that night and you didn't even pick up your phone! You make me damn worried dude!" he rant to me and trying to catch his breathe due to his running a minute ago.

I rais my brow to him, when he called me by my second name. He unconsciously bite his lips.

Maybe he remember right now. Only my mom and dad call my second name. Luiz used to call me by my second name. But when the plane crash accident happen, that cause my parent's death. He stop calling me by my second name.

"You don't need to worry. Im fine. Safe and sound." I said to him

He want to speak again, when I speak to her. My first command to her being his boss.

"Ready the papers needed on the meeting of Mr. William." I command to her and she genuinely smile to me and said...

"Yes, Mr. Johnsons." she said and smile once again then march her way to her table.

"Du-" I cut Luiz out when I signaled to Salazar to come near to me.

"Ask the head financial department and the head operation department about the reports of our managers in our different branch." I added and seriously look to him then he politely bow a little and make his way out to my office.

"And now you just ghosted me dude." Luiz rant again and heavily take his seat in one of the couch.

He reach again the one liqiour that has laid in the table infront of him.

"Don't you dare, Luiz!" I darkly said to him then he clap his hand one time.

"Better!" he gladly said and glance my secretary at the other side.

"So you're Aurora right?" Luiz begin to ask her, she glance at Luiz and smile to him.

"Yes, Mister?" she formally asked back with her charming smile again.

"Just call me, Luiz." he replied back and settle his back on the couch.

"Why are you here again?" I ask him to catch his attention.

"Tch. I said Im worried dude!" he reasoned out.

"Did you have a work?" I ask him once again and he just smile to me then cross his arms.

"I take a one week leave." he proudly announce to me that make my brow shot up.

"And why did your dad let you?" I suspiciously ask to him

"Well, I said to him that I will persuade you to have some fun with me! Bestfriend bonding!" he happily said and copy my brow on how I raise them.

"Tch. You know I have no time for that." I retorted and bring out my laptop to check the emails.

"If you want, there will be always a way." he said.

"If you dont, there will be always a reasons" they said, together with the secretary in unison.

"Yow! I like her!" he scream suddenly and point his finger to my secretary.

Aurora in return just chuckle, but that was a soft chuckle.

"I think that was my fault yesterday night. I mean it was my truly mistake." she added while her eyes was focus on the screen of her laptop.

"Wait, you two met that time?" he asked immediately while his eyes grew big.

"By accident." I immediately retorted while busy with my laptop.

"So you met yesterday night by accident?!" he exclaimed and repeat his words again

I raise my head to find out he was already standing.

"Yes, Luiz." she said and glance to Luiz? to give him a charming smile and bring back her attention to the screen.

"DUDE! I TOLD YOU! I REALLY TOLD YOU!" he exclaimed and his tone is like he just win a grand jackpot prize.

"What?" I ask him and he just look at me like 'Yeah, my friend was stupid right now. He didnt get it, again.'

"I think you just pass me your I.Q." he boredly said and his hands was on his hips already.

"I guess so, Im being stupid lately." I agreed to him and then he just clench his chest as if he was really in deep hurt.

I hear her soft chuckle again, and it make Luiz to dramatically wipe his invisible tears. In a reason that I had a partner right now.

"I thought we're partners here!" he said and heavily laid his back to the couch.

"His the boss. I might get fired anytime." she replied to him and then she laugh shortly when she saw Luiz's face was visibly annoyed.

"I hate you! The both of you!" Luiz retorded and here we goes he show his famous pouty lips.

"Aww, so cute of you." Aurora commented with a small smile and Luiz glance with me then stick his tounge out like his pertaining 'I win, you loose!'

I scoffed in disbelief, and continue to read the emails.

"Yeah, I know that. No need to announce to them." he said and laugh a little with his hand swayed in the air.

I unconsciously click my tounge inside, they both look to me and I didn't even dare to glance with them.

Luiz was trying to speak again, when someone open the door in my office and I saw, it was Salazar holding the reports I needed.

"Ms. Davis" I call her, she politely stand up from her chair and she walk her way to me. She was like a model who was walking in the runway.

"Wtf? Did I just check her out and I even talk silently in my mind and gave her a compliment?" I unconsciously said and Im super glad that It didn't came out from my mouth.

"Yes, Mr. Johnsons?" she ask when she was on the side on my table and smile again to me showing her two deep dimples.

"Take the report of the Operational department with you. I'll need it to negotiate with Mr. Williams for partnership." I order

"Copy, Mr. Johnsons!" she said with her delight tone and she show me her charming smile.

She politely get the copy from Salazar and read what's written for awhile. Then, she smile again to me before she walk back to her table.

Salazar place the reports of Financial Department. I immediately review the reports.

"Dude, I can sense the chemistry within the both of you." Luiz suddenly whisper to me that make me slap the folder Im holding to him.

"Godnesss! Are you okay, Luiz?" Aurora said when she march her way to Luiz who has now on the floor holding his head.

"It's your fault." I retorted to him

"Sorry, dude. Im not gonna do it again." he said apologetically.

I released a heavy sighed, when I saw her holding an ice pack to assist him.

And I didn't know where she gets that either.

"It didn't even create lump in his head, tch." I scoffed in my mind.

I take a peek to my wristwatch and to find out it was 8:45 in the morning.

"Fuentes, ready the car." I said and he was surprised with my sudden tone. It was my dark tone.

"Your car sir?" he asked unconsciously.

"No, Im not in the mood to drive. Ready the car, we're going." I declared to him that make him a bow a little and make his way out of the room.

"It will be a little hurt, hmm." she gently said to Luiz.

Luiz throw me a glance and smile to me like it was sign that 'You see this? You can't have that.'

"Davis! Come on, time for work! He can handle that on his own." I darkly said and heavily bring my breifcase then I heard Luiz laughing so hard and it make him cough.

"Oh, yes Mr. Johnsons!" I heard she said at my back and I can sense that she was now following my pace.

"I CAN SMELL FROM HERE DUDE! I KNOW IT, AND I TOLD YOU ALREADY!" I heard Luiz shout those words at my back and he laugh again that he just made an accomplishment on something he was proud of.

"What's wrong with you?" she mumble with her low voice at my back, but I can hear her.

"I didn't know either.

Should I appoint already a check up to the psychiatrist?

I think Im crazy or being stupid,

since the day I met you.

And I know it's not your fault.

It's in me,

it feels surreal."

I silently answer in my mind, as we heading our way to the exit in my very own office.
