Chapter Twelve AMANDA My body was numb. My thoughts were blank. I was frozen in place, leaning against the wall of my hotel bedroom. I closed my eyes and there was nothing. I opened them, still nothing. I didn’t know what to think or feel. I didn’t even know if I was alive at this point. I felt so strange, almost disembodied. Almost like I could see myself, like I was a ghost floating in the ether, looking down upon myself, at what I was doing, what I had become. I listened to the water running in the bathroom.
