For eight years, Amelia Reyes believed she was the luckiest woman alive.

She stood beside Alexander Villanueva before he became one of the country's most powerful CEOs. She celebrated every victory, endured every hardship, and loved him with all her heart. He promised her a future, a grand wedding, and a lifetime of happiness. Although she struggled with a medical condition that made pregnancy nearly impossible, Amelia believed their love was enough to overcome every obstacle.

Until one devastating truth shattered everything.

Alexander was already married.

The woman Amelia thought she would one day become was nothing more than a secret hidden from the world.

Heartbroken, she disappeared without realizing she was carrying the miracle child she never thought she could have.

Seven years later, Amelia lives a quiet life as the owner of a small bakery, raising her bright and loving daughter, Sophia. Their peaceful world comes crashing down when fate brings them back to the city, where long-buried secrets begin to surface. A single DNA test reveals the truth that powerful people will do anything to keep hidden.

When greed and jealousy claim the life of her innocent daughter, justice is buried beneath wealth, influence, and corruption.

The law fails her.

The truth is silenced.

And the people responsible walk away without consequence.

But they made one fatal mistake.

They thought they had destroyed a broken woman.

Instead, they awakened a mother with nothing left to lose.

As Amelia wages a relentless battle against the billionaire empire that betrayed her, every hidden lie will be exposed, every secret will come to light, and every debt will be paid.

Because a mother's love never dies...

And neither does her desire for justice.

Chapter 1: Eight Years of Forever
Amelia's POV People always say that forever is impossible. I used to smile whenever I heard those words because I believed they had simply never experienced the kind of love I had. For eight years, Alexander Villanueva was my forever. Eight years of waking up beside the same man. Eight years of watching him chase impossible dreams. Eight years of celebrating every victory and surviving every failure together. If someone had asked me what happiness looked like, I would have pointed to the penthouse we called home—not because it overlooked the glittering skyline of Metro Manila, but because every corner of it carried pieces of us. The coffee mug he always forgot on the kitchen counter. The blanket we fought over every rainy night. The tiny cactus I insisted on buying because I believed every home needed something alive to grow alongside the people living in it. It wasn't perfect. Neither were we. But it was ours. Or at least... That's what I believed. The soft morning sunlight slipped through the floor-to-ceiling windows as I stood in our kitchen, carefully arranging pancakes on a white porcelain plate. Alexander loved pancakes. Not because they were expensive or made by a famous chef. He loved them because they reminded him of simpler days. Back when he owned nothing except impossible dreams. I smiled to myself as I drizzled maple syrup over the stack. Thirty-four years old. CEO of Villanueva Global Holdings. Named Businessman of the Year. Featured on magazine covers. Interviewed on international television. Yet every birthday... He still wanted homemade pancakes. "You'll burn them if you keep staring." His deep voice startled me. I turned around just in time to see him leaning against the kitchen doorway. His dark hair was still messy from sleep. The sleeves of his white dress shirt were rolled halfway to his elbows. Without the tailored suits and expensive watches, Alexander looked less like the country's most powerful businessman and more like the man I'd fallen in love with years ago. I laughed. "I wasn't staring." "You were." "I was admiring my cooking." He chuckled. "Liar." Before I could answer, he wrapped his arms around my waist and rested his chin on my shoulder. It was one of his favorite ways of saying good morning. No words. Just warmth. "You smell like vanilla," he whispered. "I was baking." "You always smell like home." Home. That single word melted every worry inside me. I leaned back against him. "Happy anniversary." He kissed my temple. "Eight years." "Can you believe it?" "No." His smile softened. "It feels like yesterday." I looked up at him. "Do you regret it?" His eyebrows knitted together. "Regret what?" "Meeting me." His expression immediately turned serious. He gently cupped my face. "Amelia." His voice became almost a whisper. "Meeting you is the best thing that has ever happened to me." Those words settled every insecurity I'd carried. Even after eight years... He still looked at me as though I was the only woman in the world. Or at least... I thought he did. After breakfast, Alexander disappeared into his home office for another online board meeting. That wasn't unusual. Running one of the country's largest companies meant he was always working. Sometimes eighteen hours a day. Sometimes more. I admired him for it. I had watched him build everything from nothing. When we first met, he wasn't a billionaire. He wasn't even close. He was just a young entrepreneur with a tiny office, worn-out furniture, and a dream so outrageous that everyone laughed at him. Everyone... except me. I remembered bringing him homemade lunches because he couldn't afford to eat outside. I remembered helping him organize files until midnight. I remembered encouraging him after investors rejected him again and again. "There will be someone who believes in you," I used to tell him. Eventually... The world did. Sometimes I wondered if he even remembered those days. But every time I asked, he'd simply smile and say, "I could never forget the woman who believed in me before anyone else did." Around noon, the doorbell rang. A courier handed me an elegant black box tied with a gold ribbon. There wasn't any sender's name. I smiled. Alexander had always loved surprising me. Inside the box was a breathtaking diamond necklace. Beneath it lay a handwritten note. To the woman who stayed when I had nothing... Wait for me just a little longer. I promise I'll give you the wedding you've always dreamed of. —Alexander Tears blurred my vision. How many times had he promised me that? Too many to count. Yet somehow... I still believed him every single time. I held the necklace close to my heart. One day. Our wedding would happen. One day... I would finally become Amelia Villanueva. That evening, we attended one of Alexander's charity events for children's hospitals. It was one of the few public appearances he genuinely enjoyed. He spent nearly an hour talking with the children, laughing with them, kneeling so he could meet them at eye level. Watching him play with a little boy who had lost his hair during chemotherapy made my chest ache. Not because I was jealous. Because I knew how badly he wanted to become a father someday. Later that night, as we drove home through the glowing city lights, silence filled the car. Comfortable silence. The kind only people deeply in love could understand. Alexander reached for my hand. His fingers intertwined with mine. "You've been quiet." "I'm thinking." "About?" I looked out the window. "The future." He smiled faintly. "Our future?" I nodded. "I still dream about our wedding." He squeezed my hand. "It'll happen." "When?" "Soon." "You always say soon." "I know." He sighed. "There are still things I need to settle." "What things?" His eyes stayed fixed on the road. "I'll explain everything." "When the time is right." I didn't push. I never did. Trust was the foundation of our relationship. And I trusted Alexander with my whole heart. If only I had known... That some promises were built on secrets. Some silences carried devastating truths. And sometimes... The person you trust the most is unknowingly leading you toward the greatest heartbreak of your life. At that moment, I still believed our forever had already begun. I had no idea... It was only counting down to its end.
