First Lesson In The Special Class

1482 Words
The next day, the instructor assessed the right lessons for their level after learning their power levels and capabilities. He introduces himself formally to his new students. “I am Percival Noir,  I am going to be your new instructor this year as part of the new and special class where I am going to teach your something that is far more different than what you all have learned until today.” He said as he turns to Amon. “But some of you might not be needing this lesson since they look like they are even more advance but I will do my best to teach them something new as well.” He added as he turns to the other students after slight glimpse of Amon’s face. “Now then, I will not teach you all about theories wand useless whatnot. I will teach you all combat skills and various other things that will save your life. As a part of the special class I hope you all understand that you will be facing more danger than the others. So now tell me, why do you all think most of you fell instantly after I told you all to start the fight?” Percival looks around and saw that none of them were going to raise their hands. “Most of you seems to have failed but there are those who showed immense talent that you can only unlock if you have a good amount of experience. The answer would only be, expectation. In a real battle, there is nothing like a countdown. Your enemy will take the opportunity to strike you down as fast as possible. The first one to act is the victory, that is why the last ones from yesterday were able to last longer than the first names that I called. They all learned my movements and actions through my fight with Amon which is very clever of them.” He said as he points out the things that the other were able to do against him. “Learning of the enemies’ movements beforehand is vital to the actions that you are going to make, that is why during wars. The leaders sent out a party to monitor the movements of the enemies and deliver the information even if it cost their lives so that their kingdom will emerge victorious.” After his given example, he tells every single one of them how to exploit their selected weapons to their advantage. “You have all seen me use the floor to my advantage with my great sword. That is one of the ways that you can defend against a powerful opponent. All of the force that he is exerting goes to the ground where it is plenty powerful and can withstand his attacks even from the strongest person but there is a condition. First is the floor or ground, it must be strong enough to withstand the attack of a few hundred pounds and the second is that your opponent should not be should enough to destroy the floor or your weapon otherwise, you are doomed.” He reminded as he showed then the flaw of his method. He then proceeds to tell them about the other things that they can do in order to defend against strong attackers. And gave them a few pointers in order to deflect magic attacks. “And that would be specialized weapons or tools and magic themselves. Always practice the things that can deflect certain magic attacks. Like fire with water, water with earth, earth with wind and so forth. Who among you can extinguish the flames in my hand?” Abel raises his hand as Percival nods his head. [During our fight, I saw him harness a lot of different types of magic but he mainly focuses on wind magic. Maybe he already knows what to do.] he thought to himself as the flames in his hand immediately died out. “As you can see, the flames died out in an instant. Is there anyone that can explain why?” princess Joanna raised her hand trying to show off her knowledge to everyone especially Amon. “Abel conjured a special barrier trapping the flames inside and preventing it from making contact from the air resulting for it to die out in an instant. There is something in the air that is making the flames retain it’s figure but if that thing disappears so as the air.” She explained as the others claps their hands to her brilliance. Percival confirms this and applaud the two for their great job but then one of the nobles who saw the fight between Marcus and the other student raises his question. “Then how about Marcus’ flames? It did not die out no matter what the student did.” Percival then turns to Marcus and asks him about it and ask if he can conjure his flames whom the other one happily obliged. [Impossible, his flames are way darker than the normal ones. What did he do to make his flames like this?] he thought to himself after seeing the flames for the first time and then ask him about it but Marcus refused to answer. The prince then sees that the instructor got interested in his flames so he intervened telling Percival that it is something that must not be disclosed to anyone. “I apologize, I have not seen something like this so I’m astonished.” He said as he ask if anyone can give an explanation about it but no one volunteers, until Amon raise his hand. “The reason would be, his mana.” He said and abruptly sat down leaving everyone else in the dark as they immediately protested that they did not understand anything even after that answer but Abel supported and brush their protest off saying that they are just looking at the situation in a broad manner. “What the young master meant is that master Marcus is using his own mana to fuel the flames, given that his dense and large mana pool he is able to produce a flame that does not extinguish unless he wills it himself. The mana around his flames just gets added to the flames and burns everything that it touches before it can even be extinguished.” His words then enlightened the princess and understand his words and supported his words immediately. “I have read something like that in the library inside the residence. I did not understand what it meant first but with Abel’s explanation, I now understand it fully!” seeing that he sister understood what Abel meant, Japheth let out a sight knowing that his sisters is interested in magic but only the four of them knows that Marcus flames are enhanced because of the mana of the dragon monarch. Their lessons then ended after a few discussions about things and Percival then dismissed them early, giving them time to roam around the shops outside the academy.  “I still can’t believe that you tamed a dragon. Do you know the intensity of shock I was in when I saw it for the first time? My brother even fainted!” Amber exclaimed as she walks beside Marcus who is guilty for not telling her about it beforehand. “I’m really sorry for not telling you about it. I feel awful just seeing the horrors in your faces when you saw Ra but he is a good boy. There is no need be on guard.” Marcus tries to resolve it and Amber forgives him saying that it was their home first so there is no need for them to make a big deal out of it but her brother is different. She told her the entire night that they need to move on a different residence since the dragon might bite his head off but then realize that he is under the same roof as Amon so he challenged Amon right after waking up earlier. A few months later, the being that the headmaster had investigated appeared and wreak havoc in the village nearby, all their scouts were annihilated so he gave a few students from the special class a mission, seeing their improvements over the time and sees that they are more stronger than the scouts that hey have sent. “It is time to bring what they learned from you out in the world.” The headmaster said to Percival who opposed the idea. “I don’t agree to what you are planning headmaster. What you are about to do is either going to bring demise to the families of the students or bring back monsters inside the academy.” Percival said with a stern tone.
