The Real Culprit

Mark Saber and his wife, Kassandra Saber immediately went to the residence where the three are living in and saw their son still recuperating in his room while Abel treats the others who are wounded during the incident. Amon, is nowhere to be found  and Ra is resting on his nest that Marcus made when he received the word of his arrival.

              “Abel, how are the others?” Mark asked as Abel continues to treat the others. “I don’t really know where he is master Mark, we came here together earlier. Maybe he just went out to eat something, he sometimes do that if he is down.” Abel said as he turns to treat the other nobles who are injured.

              In that moment, Razel entered the residence along with the other knights, Peter Faust and Judas Sand who were searching for their children. “Are you well my children?” Peter ask his daughters who immediately embrace him. “Are you hurt anywhere?” Judas ask his daughter but shook her head. “I am with the headmaster when the incident happened and Ember was fortunately outside the academy when the academy was attacked.” Amber explains as she brush away her clingy father.

              After hearing that their children are fine, they looked for the kid who have dealt with the problem on his own. “He is not here. His butler told me that maybe he went out to go get a bite.” Mark told the other knights as sigh in relief.

              Meanwhile

              “I told you I’m fine Joanna, there is no need to make a face like that.” Japeth told his sister off as she continues to cling unto him. “You are basically disrupting my rest Joanna, that is no a good thing.” He said with a blank expression hoping that it would changer her mind but she still hold on to him. “How is everyone? More importantly, who took care of that person?” Japeth ask as Joanna immediately replies. “Everybody seems to be fine but some of the instructors actually died and the headmaster is dealing with it right now and as for the one who take care of that person, it was Amon.” Joanna said with a sad tone which made Japeth wonder why.

              [That’s strange, she is usually jolly when she mentions Amon’s name but why is she sad right now? Maybe something happened?] he thinks to himself as he looks at his sister with  a worried expression. “Did something bad happened?” he ask but his sister shook her head. “I don’t know if something happened, the person has been dealt with by the time we came inside the academy when the rumbling stops but what worries me more is Amon’s feelings. He looked really sad and conflicted as he continues to ram his fist on to that person’s face.” She told Japeth.

              [A demon in a human’s body- what- what am I? will I be like that when I grow up? Attacking and hurting innocent people? Was he also an offspring of a demon and a human?] Amon bit his lip in the darkness as he confuses as to what his identity is.

              [LOOK AT THAT BRAT, YOU HANDED HIM YOUR TREASURE TO HAVE A STRONG CONSTITUTION BUT HIS MIND IS FEEBLE AND WEAK.] The second figure sitting on the second throne said to the first figure who is shaking his head in disbelief.

              [CEASE YOUR BLABBERING, HE IS A PART OF YOUR RACE AND A PART OF MINE. THERE IS NO NEED TO BELITTLE HIM LIKE THAT. THERE ARE TIMES THAT ARE BOUND TO HAPPEN IN A DEMON’S LIFE AND THAT IS WORSE IF YOU ARE A HALF DEMON AND HALF HUMAN. THAT IS THE RITUAL THAT WILL DETERMINE A DEMON’S STRENGTH IN THE FUTURE. THE PROBLEM THAT HE IS EXPERIENCING PSYCHOLOGICALLY IS SOMETHING ALL DEMONS SHARE.] The first figure said to the second figure who is smiling villainously.

              [YOU SEEM TO HAVE FAITH IN THAT KID, IS THAT THE REASON WHY BOTH OF YOU GAVE HIM YOUR PRECIOUS TREASURES?] The second figure ask as the third figure brushes him off. [YOU LOOK DOWN ON YOUR RACE TOO MUCH DAVID, WHEN YOUOF ALL PEOPLE KNOW THAT YOUR KIN IS MORE BLESSED THAN ANYTHING ELSE IN THE WORLD.] The third figure with wings said and shut the second figure completely.

              [WHEN YOU ARE NOMINATED TO BE THE SECOND KNIGHT, I WAS ROOTING FOR YOU UNCONDITIONALLY SO IT WOULD BE FAIR TO DO THE SAME TO YOUR PREDECESSOR ISN’T IT? BUT TO THINK THAT A BEING THAT IS NOT A DEMON NOR A HUMAN WOULD APPEAR, IS THE PROPHECY COMING TOO FAST?] The first figure turns to the third figure.

              [THAT MUST BE THE CASE. I HAVE LOST CONNECTION TO THE HEAVENS ONCE I WAS NOMINATED AS THE NEXT DEMON KING BUT IF THAT ABOMINATION’S APPEARANCE SPARKS THE START OF THE PROPHECY THEN I CAN ESTABLISH CONNECTION TO THE HEAVENS AGAIN.] the third figure said to the first figure leaving the second one in the dust.

              They both look at the second figure and tells him to give Amon a little boost in confidence as the current nominee is drowning in his current situation. [YOU CHEAPSKATES. WELL, I WANT THE PROPHECY TO BE FULFILLED AS WELL SO I GUESS I CAN’T HELP IT BUT JUST THIS ONCE.] the second figure agrees as the two figures celebrate in delight in the achievement of moving the heart of the human that was once entitled as the ‘King with the heart of stone’.

              The second figure appeared to one of Amon’s dream as he shuts himself away from everybody else until he concludes his real identity is.

              [AMON, DO NOT BE DISCOURAGED, THIS IS A PART OF YOUR RITUAL TO ASCENSION.]The second figure said in his dream as Amon wakes up in the middle of the forest near the village where the person first attacked. “What was that? The voice in my head, who was it?” Amon thinks to himself as he looks around at the deserted place. “Why am I even here?” Amon lost all his memories the night before after tracing all the places that the unknown person had went to.

              [Arg! My head hurts!] Amon grabs his head but then he remembered the distortion in space where they found the bodies of the scouts. Amon went there and checked the place again and use his mana detection.

              SHHHHH!

              Amon falls to the ground as multiple images rush through his head like a message, a virtual message. ‘Yes, that is perfect my son. Go and wreak havoc to that place and show them the power of devils.’ The figure talking in the image that rush through Amon’s mind  has a crown in his head with a huge figure as Amon gasp for air after the images runs in his head.

              PANT! PANT! PANT! PANT! PANT! PANT!

              “What the heck was that? Devils? Was that person a devil?” Amon started sweating heavily as he looks around and saw that the distortion in the space had disappeared. “So the distortion in space is used to communicate with the owner?!” Amon remembers that they have an orb that can communicate with the elders and then hurries to go back and contact the elders and ask them about it.

              A few minutes later

              FWOOOSH!

              Amon used Nolan’s secret art as a base and flew back to their residence only to find that Mark and the other knights are waiting for him. “Good timing Amon, I want you to meet the other knights-“ Mark said as Amon greets them with a bow but then walks passed them. “I’m sorry uncle but there is something important I need to do right now.” He said as he looks for Abel and found him walking in the hallway, exhausted.

              “Abel, I need you right now.” Amon said with a worried expression as Mark and the other follows him. “We need to use the orb right now and contact the elders. I want to ask them about something.”  He said as Abel immediately heads to his room to grab the orb. Mark realizes that it is something important so he tells them that they will be waiting outside.

              “No uncle, I need you to see this as well.” Amon said as he opens the door for them. “If Mark needs to be here then I guess that goes the same for us as well.” Razel said as she enters the room and the other knights followed.

              ZINGGGGG!

              “Well, if it isn’t our pride and joy. To think that you would contact us this soon. Do you miss your great grandfather?” the great elder ask Amon who immediately greets him. “I miss you all to be honest great grandpa. But I have something in mind for contacting you. I want to ask if there is a secret art from our people that use space to talk from long distances.” Amon’s question shook the great elder and tells them that it is a technique lost in time.

              “That kind of techniques is used during the great war and has been long lost since then that’s why we used orbs now to communicate from long distances.” The great elder said as Amon add in to his question about the images that he saw during a mana detection. “I have seen  the images and the man calls the person a devil, do you know what it means?” the shock on to the great elder’s face is shown to Amon’s side and gave them a bad feeling about what he is about to say.

              “If something like that is important then we should not discuss it inside an open place.” Mark said as Peter volunteers and surrounds the room with a unique technique that can prevent the sound from the inside to get out of the room. “Devils, are experiments during the great war and had been terminated at that same period of time. That is something that should not exist in this times. Unless, it is a demon.” The news from the great elder shook everyone inside the room as Mark introduces himself to the great elder and greets him.

              “Hello great elder. It is nice seeing you again. What do you mean about what you just said?” Mark ask as the great elder greets him as well. “Nice to meet you too Knight of the Raging Flames. What I was saying is that a demon, from ancient times had survived and is now continuing the experiment on devils. There is no name associated in our text since most of them are just history so we do not know exactly who the demon is.” Mark and the other knights grit their teeth in anger and frustration since they are also on the same page.

              None of them have any idea about it since humans do not record things like that from ancient times after the great war.

              BAM!

              “Damn it. Someone is doing something like that right under our noses but we can’t even speculate who it is.” Peter said in anger as he slams his fist to the wall. “Calm down Peter, I know you are worried after seeing a single devil wreak havoc. I’m sure the great elder have the same thing in mind. Let’s just calm down and think about it for a second.” Mark suggests as Razel supports him. “Mark is right, we need to be composed in times like this. Mark can you ask the great elder if Luke is listening to our conversation?”  Mark nods and ask the great elder and said that Luke is listening.

              “I will give the orb to him now so you can speak more conveniently.” The great elder said as Luke appears in the orb. “Nice seeing you guys again.” The other knights were delighted as their anger dissipates from their faces after seeing their comrade’s face. “Luke you bastard! You don’t know how we missed you!” Razel screamed as she forcedly push Mark’s head away. “You really had to call me names right after meeting for the first time in years?” Luke said as Peter and Judas restrains Razel while Mark continues to talk to Luke.

              “How are things going in your side?” Luke shook his head. “His mother is worried about him even more saying that he had been there for almost three years and have been in so many hardships already.” Mark had a bitter smile on his face as she had the same reaction as his wife did.

              “Well, rest assured. He is a prominent figure among his peers so there is no need to be worried about it.” Mark said as Luke figured that would be the case.

              At the same time

              [Hoh~ so someone is able to detect my space distortion technique. It must be a beginner that just happened to stumble upon it. Otherwise I would have seen that person’s face if they are more profound in that field but that technique is lost even in my kind so there is nobody like me that can use it.] a man thinks to himself as someone knocks on his door. “The king requires your presence my lord.” The man then opens the door. “Then I will be on my way. Thanks for telling me.” He said as he shuts the door close.
