Chapter19

****** Miahs POV ******

I walk into the room he told me was mine and gasp, it’s huge! The walls are a steel blue and the floors are wood. In the upper left corner is a king-sized bed with a beautiful forest green comforter. In front of the bed is a large flat screen t.v sitting on a beautiful oak dresser. In the bottom right sits a lovely old rocking chair. I sigh, I’ve never had a room this big, let alone a room to myself. If this is what it’s like to be mates to an alpha's son, then I’m more than happy to oblige. I just wish this could have happened under better circumstances.

I walk further into the room and spot two doors to my right. I open the farthest door only to come face to face with a walk-in closet fully stocked with women’s clothes, all of which appear roughly my size. I walk in and grab a pair of black leggings and an oversize gray hoodie. Nick did say to get comfortable and nothing beats soft, clean, baggy clothes. I also grab a pair of underwear which still has all the tags on, as well as a sports bra.

I’m glad Nick had someone purchase new underwear for me instead of giving me someone else’s. I walk towards the door and a pair of slippers catch my eye. Might as well grab them too. They look incredibly soft. Nick really did think of everything! I’m kinda glad he's my mate.

I walk out of the closet and go to open the other door, which, thankfully, leads to the bathroom. I walk in and set everything onto the counter. I glance at my reflection, my cheeks look hollow, and my face is covered in a thin layer of dirt. My brown eyes look dull, and my short brown hair is knotted and greasy. When was the last time I had a shower? I shake my head and turn away from the mirror. I remove the baggy shirt and shorts that were given to me while I was locked in the prison cell and put them in the laundry basket by the door. I open the shower door, get in and turn on the water. At first the water is freezing, but as soon as it starts to heat up I just melt. I feel all the tension leave my body as I just stand here.

I let the water flow onto me for a good couple of minutes before I begin washing my hair and body. I look at the floor and the water is basically black. Goddess I’m filthy! I really needed this. I can feel my muscles relaxing under the hot water and it is absolute bliss. Being a rogue, I don’t get the luxury of having hot showers whenever I need/want them. And with that thought I start feeling guilty.

How can I be enjoying this when my sister is stuck out there in rogue lands with him? I can’t believe I left her with that a*shole. I wish he had never found us! Maybe then I wouldn’t have to worry, maybe then I wouldn’t feel guilty about finding my mate. But at the same time, maybe just maybe Nick and his family could help me get away from him once and for all. Maybe they could get rid of him permanently. I can only hope that they will understand when push comes to shove.

Soon the water turns cold, and I quickly hop out of the shower and wrap myself up in the large fluffy towel as I run a comb through my hair. It’s been awhile since I’ve been able to spoil myself, so I’m going to take as long as I possibly can. This way I have time to think about what to talk to Nick about, there’s so much I want to tell him, but there’s just no right way of saying it all.

****** Nikki's Pov ******

I walk out of the dungeon, leaving Nick with his mate. I'm glad he found her, but I can't help but feel like she's hiding something from us. I want to give her the benefit of the doubt, but there's this tiny little voice in the back of my mind screaming at me to be cautious. To keep an eye on her and not to trust her blindly.

I walk into the pack house and head straight to my father's office. I need to let them know what's going on and about the small amount of information we actually got from Miah. I open the door and see everyone is still here. Thank the goddess!

"Nikki, your back quicker than I expected." my dad says, sounding slightly shocked.

"Well dad, something interesting came up."

"Please share..."

"Everyone, please try and remain calm. What I'm about to tell you will come as a shock."

"Nikki, enough with the dramatics, get on with it!" Tanner says with a sigh.

"Really, Nikki, you are an alpha's daughter and a warrior. You should try to be more serious." Blake chimes in.

I glare at them both but decide to spit it out regardless.

"Well, first thing first, some good news. Nick found his mate!"

"Seriously?" Nat says excitedly. "That's wonderful news!"

"That's great! I know how much he's been craving one." Tanner chimes in.

"Who is she?" Dad asks.

"When will we get to meet her?" Nate asks.

"Guys one at a time." I laugh.

"Well, spit it out!" Tanner exclaims.

"Spoil sport! Her Name is Miah."

"Cool now, when will we meet her?" Nat rushes.

"Well, for those of you who were in the forest, you already did."

I hear Theo growl and I give him a pointed look.

"Explain." Theo manages to growl out.

"Well, that rogue we captured, yeah she's Nick's mate."

They all start losing their minds and I can't help but sigh.

"Enough! Didn't I say to remain calm?"

"Yeah but that was before you said the rogue who was trying to kidnap you is Nick's Mate!"

I roll my eyes and look at my father. "Do you want me to tell you what we learned from her or not?"

"Go ahead Nikki. Hopefully, we have got some useful information from her."

"Yeah about that... she didn't have much to offer. Apparently, she's only working with the rogues to protect her sister. We were also right to assume they were after me."

Theo growls again, and I turn to stare at him.

"Can you relax a little and let me finish?"

"How do you expect me to relax? You're my mate and some group of rogues is after you, for the goddess knows why!"

"Well, maybe if you gave me a chance to finish talking we could hear more of what we learned to come up with a better plan!"

"Both of you, enough!" my father says, raising his voice and adding his alpha tone.

"Sorry Alpha." I say knowing that if I continue I'd just be pissing him off.

"Continue please."

"As I was saying, there's actually one man controlling all the rogues. He's threatening their loved ones if they try to refuse him. He's also power hungry."

"Do we know who he is or what he could want with you?"

"Unfortunately, no, we don't."

"That's not a lot to go on, sis."

"I know, I would have pushed harder, but Nick was there and her being his mate didn't make it easy. I'm hoping Nick can get more information from her."

"We will need to keep an eye on her."

"I agree with Nate."

"Same here."

"So where is she now?" Nate asks.

"I believe Nick took her inside to get freshened up."

"That could work in our favor..."

"I agree Alpha, we could use their bond for our benefit."

"I agree with Theo."

"Same here!"

"I agree, but we need to be careful. If she thinks that's all we want, we could ruin this for Nick and lose our chance at gaining an advantage over our enemies."

"That's a fair point. If we can get her on our side and trust us, we will gain more information." Nate adds.

"Like Nikki said, we need her to believe that we don't suspect anything or at least we won't judge her for anything.." Blake says.

"We need her to trust us and believe that we want to help her. We need to show her that we want her to be a part of our family. And we need her to want that as well." Nat explains, and I can't help but nod in agreement.

"You all make great points. With that being said, Nikki, I want you to let Nick in on what we discussed just now. As for everyone else, prepare to make Miah part of the family."

Everyone nods and begins to leave the room, all heading off to do who knows what. Once I'm alone, I mind link Nick.

'Nick, we have a plan.'

'Really?'

'Yeah, not sure what you'll think about it, but it's the best we got.'

'Alright sis, lay it on me!'

I explain our plan and Nick says he's on board with it. He wants the family to like her and this way we can all get to know her and gain her trust and vice versa. We end the mind link and I head to the living room.
