*Daisy*
The following morning came around, and I woke up to Fran bringing me breakfast in bed. She had a hot cup of coffee, as well as a glass of orange juice. She set the tray of bacon, eggs, and toast on my lap. She smiled, walking over to the windows to draw the drapes.
"Good morning, dear." Fran smiled, cleaning up the clutter.
"Good morning," I smiled, "Thank you for breakfast."
"Of course," She said, "Your doctor is returning this morning, he wants to check your back this time."
"That's feeling much better." I said, eating my breakfast carefully.
"Your cheek is looking better, too." Fran smiled, gathering laundry, and standing my the door, "I'll be back for your plate."
Fran left, and I clicked the TV on. I was starting to become restless, and was ready to get out of bed, but I didn't know what to do or where to go. I don't even know what his house looks like, because all I've ever seen is this bedroom. I want to explore, but I don't know if I'm allowed.
Before I could dwell too much on that, the doctor walked into the room with his bag of supplies. He smiled, as he approached the bed, and I smiled in return. I sat up, ready for him to examine my back. I was still wearing the slip nightgown that Audra sent me home in, mainly because it was soft and delicate against my torn skin.
"Looking good, kid." The doctor responded, removing my gauze patches. "No more gauze, you're finally on the mend."
"It's really itchy..." I complained, and he immediately rubbed an ointment on my skin that took the itch away.
"Apply this whenever you feel like itching," He said, setting a small tube on the nightstand, "If you need more, just call."
"Thank you." I smiled, leaning back.
"Take care of yourself, kid." The doctor smiled, packing his things together.
After the doctor left the room, I decided to get up and take a shower. I haven't felt up for that in a few days, and I'm starting to feel gross. I stepped into the closet first, looking for a comfortable outfit to change into. Alexa got some really cute clothes, but they're all so... flashy... as well as revealing. I paired a plain black tank top with a pair of pink pajama pants, and called it good. Gathering my clothes, I entered the bathroom and turned on the shower.
When I stepped in the shower, I noticed all of the new products Alexa got for me. There was honey milk soap, and it smelled amazing, as well soothed my dry skin. My shampoo smelled floral, and I smiled as I rinsed my hair. This hot shower that smells like flowers and honey, was exactly what I needed this morning. I feel refreshed, renewed, like I'm ready to take on this new adventure.
I stepped out of the bathroom with a towel around my head, dumping my old laundry in the basket near the closet. I noticed Gray standing at the doorway, watching me with a crooked grin on his face. I stopped in dead in my tracks, like a deer caught in headlights, staring at him dumbfounded.
"How are you feeling this morning?" Gray asked, smirking at my expression.
"A little better," I briefly smiled, "My back is healed, enough to not require medical care."
"That's great," He smiled broadly, and it damn near took my breath away, "I'm so sorry, I have to leave for a little bit today. Alexa, Alistair, and Fran will be here with you. Alistair will be working most of the time, but he'll still check in with you. Is there anything I can get you, before I leave?"
"No, but thank you." I responded, nodding in agreement.
Gray pursed his lips, and smirked, before leaving the room without another word. I released a breath of air I didn't know I was holding in, and tried to remember what I was going to do next. Seeing Gray made me lose my train of thought, and now all I can think about is him. How handsome he looks in his business suits...
I took the towel off my head, and brushed through my already curly hair. I played around with some of the hair products Alexa got for me, and when I went to look in the mirror, I caught a glimpse of my cheek. The cut was wider than I expected, and still extremely fresh. I sighed... that will leave a nasty scar.
When I walked back out into the bedroom, I found Alexa waiting for me. She greeted me with a wide smile, and I watched it slowly fade, as she examined my outfit. I couldn't help but giggle, because I could see the genuine disappointment. I guess I'm not as fashionable as her.
"What?" I asked, looking down.
"Out of everything I bought you," She stuttered, shaking her head in disbelief, "This is what you choose."
"It's comfortable," I grumbled with furrowed eyebrows, "You didn't exactly buy with comfort in mind."
"I guess you're right," Alexa nodded with raised brows, "Then it's a good thing Gray left me with one of his credit cards, huh?"
"No, he doesn't need to spend anymore money." I scoffed, shaking my head.
"He'll be pissed if he finds out you don't have what you want." She shrugged, and I stared at her perplexed.
"What?" I asked.
"I've known Gray a while, sweetie, I can pick up on things that you can't... yet." She winked.
"What are you talking about?" I asked again, still unsure of what she was talking about.
"Like I told you before, he likes you." Alexa smiled, "I can tell by the way he looks at you, and when Gray likes a woman, he wants her to have everything."
"How do you know?" I asked, unsure if I could trust her.
"Because..." She sighed, "We dated a long time ago... but we realized we were better off as friends."
"Oh..." I stared at her, baffled.
"It's okay," She smiled, "We've been friends for years. I see him more as a brother, than anything else. When he told me about you, and the situation, I wanted to help. I could tell how much he cared for you already."
"I don't understand any of this," I shook my head, "It's all so confusing... and hard to believe."
"I understand," She softly responded, rubbing my back, "You've been through a lot, babe, take your time processing everything. I'm here to help, as well as do your makeup."
"My makeup?" I asked, almost offended.
"Yeah," She nodded, "Fake bruises, gashes, cuts, you know."
"Oh..." I nodded, remembering Gray mentioning something about pretending he's mistreating me, "That's right."
"So, we are going to do this every morning. It will turn into our morning ritual." Alexa smiled, laughing.
I giggled, as she pulled up her little trolly of makeup. She was sure to stay away from my right cheek, because makeup was the last thing I needed near the wound. Instead, she gave me a rather realistic looking black eye, and busted lip. I was amazed with how real it looked, as I admired it in the mirror. Alexa smiled, proud of her work. I look terrible, with all of these fake injuries, as well as my real one.
"The face is the first thing Audra will look at," Alexa grimly stated, "So that's where we want to showcase."
"Makes sense..." I nodded, barely smirking.
"Okay, come on, let's go take you shopping for yourself." Alexa smiled wide, leading me out of the bedroom.
"Am I allowed to leave?" I asked, pulling on her arm.
"I don't see why not?" Alexa responded, guiding me through the unfamiliar house.
"Won't I be an eyesore?" I asked, pointing to the real and fake wounds on my face.
"People will wonder, but who cares?" Alexa shrugged.
I quickly studied the surroundings, as Alexa dragged me through the house, and into an elevator. We took it down to a garage, where she guided me to a fancy looking car. I didn't know much about cars, but I could tell this one was expensive. I knew Alexa wasn't dangerous, but I couldn't help but get a bad feeling about this, as I slid into the passenger seat of her car and we took off.
