Silence filled the air as they walked along the forest path. While Vanessa wondered what Jesse had come to look for in Archwood and why he had sought her out first, Zoey shut that out of her mind and wondered if she'd pass the test the next day.
She wanted to but with all that had happened. She didn't know if there was still enough time to prepare for it. It was almost dusk and the once golden sun in the sky was turning into an orange ball and slowly disappearing into the blue clouds.
She was at least happy that Vanessa had gotten her voice back and that she didn't have to be in any trouble with the Alpha. He was known to be heartless. She darted her eyes to Vanessa who was lost in thought.
