A Message from the Authors
THE REALIZATION THAT Myerton is our universe, where anything that we want to happen can, came to us as J. R. was beginning work on The Redemptive Return. These mysteries were never meant to become a love story, but as many authors can attest, our characters had minds of their own.
As the relationship between Father Tom and Helen grew, we were faced with a problem. We could not have Father Tom abandon the priesthood for Helen; the entire rationale for the series would be gone. We could not have Father Tom and Helen begin an illicit s****l relationship; that would go against our own values. And we certainly could not have them continue as they were, as in any number of TV series over the years; that would become unbearable to write and tiresome to read.
