Chapter 1
Lilith’s back slammed into the cold stone wall.
Before she could scream, a bloodied hand clamped around her throat.
She stared up into the eyes of the monster from the dungeon. Alpha Ryder. He was covered in her father’s blood, his dark eyes burning with a terrifying, lethal hatred.
"Please," Lilith choked out, her hands clawing uselessly at his iron grip. "I don't know what you want. I'll give you anything."
"You?" Ryder sneered, his voice a low, dangerous rumble. "You have nothing I want."
He leaned closer. The smell of copper and death clung to him.
"Your father stole my blood for five years to keep you alive," Ryder whispered, his face inches from hers. "You drank it like fine wine, didn't you, little bird? You lived in luxury while I rotted in chains beneath your feet."
Lilith's eyes widened. The Miracle Tonic. The weekly medicine that had saved her from her deathbed.
"I didn't know," she sobbed. "I swear, I didn't know where it came from."
"Of course you didn't," Ryder said, his lips curling into a cruel smile. "Because you never asked."
His grip tightened. Lilith’s vision began to spot. She was going to die here, in her own bedroom, at the hands of the man her father had tortured.
But right before the darkness took her, Ryder released her.
Lilith crumpled to the floor, gasping for air.
Ryder crouched down, grabbing a fistful of her golden hair and yanking her head back so she was forced to look at him.
"I'm not going to kill you, Lilith," he said softly. "Death would be a mercy. You are going to pay for your father's sins. Every scream. Every drop of blood. You are going to learn what it means to be a slave."
He stood up, dragging her to her feet by her hair. Lilith cried out in pain, stumbling after him as he hauled her out of her chambers.
"Where are you taking me?" she wept.
"To the dungeon," Ryder said, not looking back. "You're going to see exactly where your miracle medicine came from."
He dragged her down the dark staircase, past the bloodied bodies of the guards. He threw open the iron door to the cell where he had spent five years of his life.
He shoved her inside. Lilith hit the stone floor hard, her hands scraping against the rough rock.
Ryder stood in the doorway, a towering silhouette of darkness.
"Tomorrow, your training begins," he said. "Tomorrow, you learn what it means to be property."
He slammed the iron door shut. The lock clicked into place.
Lilith was alone in the dark, trapped in the cell of the monster she had unknowingly tortured for five years.
Upstairs, Ryder stood in the main hall, looking out over his new kingdom. His right-hand wolf, a tall, scarred man named Peter, approached him.
"Luther's daughter is in the dungeon," Peter said, his eyes lighting up with a dark hunger. "Should I gather the men to teach her a lesson?"
Ryder turned his head slowly. His eyes flashed a dangerous red.
"No," Ryder said, his voice was cold. "She is mine. If anyone touches her without my permission, I will tear their throat out. She owes a debt, and I will be the one to collect it."
Peter swallowed hard and took a step back, bowing his head. "Yes, Alpha."
Ryder looked back out the window. The sun was rising over the Silvermoon pack.
He was free. He had his revenge. And now, he had Luther's precious daughter exactly where he wanted her.
He had spent five years in hell. Now, it was Lilith's turn.
