And since I had nowhere else to go, I just returned to my office, where Denise, my acting secretary, greeted me immediately.
"So, what happened?" She asked sweetly, then sat on my lap. Yes, she's the acting secretary, but the truth is, she's been with me for a long time. I think it's been five years, and time seems to revolve around her when I'm not with Elara.
"Can you please don't talk to me for now?" I said without enthusiasm.
"Maybe if I don't talk to you, you'll just mope around," she said with a raised eyebrow before leaving my side. But before she could leave completely, I pulled her back, causing her to sit on my lap again.
