Chapter 26
DISCLOSURE
After the firefighters left, Rafael followed Daniela and Blanca home. Daniela dropped her phone on the kitchen table and threw herself on the couch. She rested her head back while Blanca and Rafael watched her with concern.
The police had interviewed her briefly, and explained that they might need to follow up, depending on the outcome of the fire investigation. If it was foul play, they would investigate further.
Blanca gave her a reassuring smile. “I’ll make us a cup of coffee.” She headed into the kitchen while Rafael sat on the armchair beside Daniela. He flung one leg over the other and took a deep breath.
Daniela looked up at him briefly with tired eyes as she rubbed the side of her throbbing head. What was she going to do now? She had let her students down
