DESIRE
Daniela followed Blanca and Kim through a narrow walkway inside a nightclub. After hours of cajoling, she’d relented to having a night off from her business troubles. It had been almost two weeks since the fire, and luckily she’d found a temporary space until her own school was repaired. At least she had insurance.
She clutched her bag strap over her shoulder, and her mind scattered as they passed a sofa lounge until they reached a set of small couches in front of a stage. In the middle of the ceiling hung a silver disco ball. The dim lights cast a blue glow across their faces. A few young couples danced on the large rectangular dance floor to the samba and African-inspired rhythms of a Latin band.
