"Aria, really?!" she heard Thomas groan. "What is so wrong with me cleaning the books?" she asked. "Look at the dust collected above them, I'm not going to watch this brutal scene" she huffed. He ended up laughing, nodding his head. "Alright. But you're eating in an hour" he said and her lips parted. "No" she stood her ground. "You will not?" he asked, rising his brow. "That's exactly what I said" she confirmed. "You're still under the effect of the medicines, even though it's been a week" he muttered. "Oh please!" she said, rolling her eyes. "Actually you know what? Eat right now" he said, determined. "Nope" she folded her arms over her chest. "I'm telling you one last.." he started but she smirked. "Fine" he said, walking to her, making her smirk drop and stumble back. "Stay there!" her voice was shaky as she made her way behind the  bookshelf. He smirked as he strode to her. She let out a nervous yelp as she ran across the room, from one book shelf to another. She stopped when they were separated by four shelves adjacent to each other. She peeped from behind the books to find no one. He's most definitely hiding, tricking me into walking out from my safety! She didn't move. She screeched as a super strong pair of hands slid around her waist, turning her around. Her hands pressed to his stomach to hold herself back. One tug and she was pressed to him, her hands in between. "Will you eat?" he asked and she gulped slowly. "No?" he asked and she shook her head affirmatively. He shrugged before effortlessly swinging her over his shoulder. "Let me down!!" she yelled as she fisted her hands and attacked his back with them. "You mammal eating barbarian!" she hit him repeatedly, making him chuckle and eventually resulting in her getting angry. "Let me down!!" she hissed as she kicked her legs in the air, struggling to get off. She heard a gasp and shut her eyes in frustration. She elbowed his shoulder, making him jerk and she victoriously slipped away from him. She struggled her dress and looked cross. "Mr. Roof" Thomas nodded, acknowledging his presence. "Good evening Mr. King" he nodded. He let out a cough as she stomped on his foot before walking downstairs. How dare he embarrass me in front of Mr. Roof, old man?! How dare he?! "Good evening Aria" Henry, the head butler smiled. She nodded. "Tea?" he asked and she her eyes widened. "Are you all conspiring to make me fat?" she asked, making him chuckle softly. "I've already put on many pounds and I forbid to get any fatter" she refused, shaking her head. "Well, can I not help you with the dinner?" she asked. "Yes, thank you" he smiled and she beamed. "You can most likely help me by eating what the others and I prepare" he said, making her jaw drop. "No! I want to do the cooking" she stressed. "And ensure we get fired? I think not" he shook his head. "No one has to know" she tried. "Mr. King ends up knowing everything" he said, walking back to the kitchen. She sighed, walking outside. "Aye missy" she heard a voice which startled her. "Hello there" she smiled at the gardener. "You finally decide to speak to me" she chuckled, making him frown very slightly. "Ye! You're stepping on the grass" he fussed, making her step away. "I'm sorry, I didn't realise" she shook her head. "That's what they all say!" he growled. "I'm truly sorry, I wasn't looking where I was going" she said. "Eh? I believe that" he mocked, turning back to do his chopping. She frowned as she walked towards the entrance of the place. "Unpleasant fellow" she muttered as she walked ahead. "Maybe he's used to people walking on grass and that annoys him" she shrugged. "Old man" she beamed as she looked at him. "Young lady" he nodded. "Do call me by name" she said and he nodded. "What is it you want?" he asked pleasantly. "Why, I can't bear this" she dramatically placed her hands over her ears, shutting her eyes. "You're shooing me away, old man?" she asked and he chuckled. "Aria, I have work to do" he said and she clicked her tongue. "Why don't you take a break?" she asked, leaning against the nearby tree. "And risk a random burglar enter, no thanks" he said. "You over think. Like, a lot!" she chuckled. "Do you mind if I sit here, with you?" she asked and he frowned. "You're doing nothing like that, do you hear me?" he asked. "Why is everyone so bossy in this place?" she rose a brow. Mr. Roof hid the smile and shook his head. "Go inside, young lady" he said. "It's not so easy to get me off your back" she smirked as she walked back in. "I'm dying of boredom!" she groaned as she fell onto the bed. "Clearly" spoke Hailey as she entered the room. "Hailey" she smiled at her personal maid. A personal maid, do you believe it? Me, having a maid!! But of course I'm not going to treat her like one, coz I'm perfectly capable of doing my work myself. "Please give me some task to do" Hailey pleaded. "There is nothing for you to do" Aria said, shaking her head. "I'm feeling useless!!" she groaned, making Aria chuckle. "Welcome to the same world" she said and Hailey sighed. "Wanna play cards?" Hailey asked and Aria smiled. "I don't know how to?" Aria said. "And it's not considered a lady's game, even though I couldn't care less." "I know" Hailey smirked. "All the more reason to play" she winked making Aria smirk. "Teach me" she said. They spent the day playing cards. They heard footsteps and Hailey abruptly stood up. "Damn" Aria cursed, pushing the cards under the bed with Hailey's help. "Good, you're dismissed now" Aria spoke loudly and Hailey couldn't help but smirk. "Yes, ma'am" she said, loudly. Soon the door opened to reveal Thomas, whose tie was loosened and his coat on his hand. Hailey quickly left the room and Aria tried to smile. "What are you hiding from me?" he asked as he put away his clothes and changed into a sweatpant and a shirt. "Nothing, why?" she asked, looking away from the end of the bed. "You're acting weird" he said and she laughed nervously. She had a feeling that Thomas wouldn't like her playing cards. She waited till he walked out of the room and gathered the cards quickly. She heard a throat clear behind her and froze. She bit her lip but managed a confident look. She looked at his feet and slowly trailed her eyes to his. "How you doing?" she asked softly. Couldn't you come up with anything less stupid? "What you doing?" he mimicked, as she stood up, leaving the cards on the floor. "You can't answer a question with a question" she said, trying to get his mind off the cards.
