The Alpha's Human Mate

Chapter 3

Our car was entering through the gateway of the pack, where Garrette’s warriors checked our identity and informed to the pack house, through their mind link and let us go when received the approval.

‘They have good security’ Nathan was the one driving and answering all of their questions in which I was not at all interested.

‘We have better than them’ Daxton shouted through mind link, Sebastien and Nathan shrink on their places and quickly submitted to their alpha.

‘Yes Alpha, our is better’ they said in unison, Daxton scoff and I shook my head, its good that they both are my best buddies apart of being the position they are holding right now.

Nathan stopped the car and we found ourselves standing outside the pack house, I could see the Benjamin, there beta coming out from the door and running towards us, shouldn’t their Alpha be standing here greeting us? They don’t know the purpose of my visit yet and still they did not like my presence here, wow, nice way to communicate their opinion, I nodded inwardly and open the door exiting the car. Sebastien was swiftly standing beside me and Nathan was next.

‘Good morning! Alpha Derek’ Benjamin forced the smile on his face and extended his hand for me to shake, well their way of greeting has already made me gloomy, however, I returned the gesture forcedly by just letting by fingers touch his palm and retreated back.

‘Why is Garrette not here to greet his guest?’ crossing my hands I demanded, I admit that they were not expecting my visit and my call yesterday was very spontaneous but how much time and courage it take for someone to greet the guest and it is our code to greet the Alpha’s with respect.

‘May be he knows the reason of our visit?’ Daxton commented, I doubt but it could be the case, anyway we will get to know it.

‘Oh, my apologies Alpha. He is busy in handling some important matter, therefore couldn’t come to receive you. Please come in, he will join you shortly’ I tilted my head, the word important matter hit my differently.

‘What important matter, if you don’t mind me asking?’ we all started walking towards the pack house and I can smell the she wolves all around.

‘Looks like the she wolves here wants to be your mate’ Sebastien said through our mind link and I think he is right I can sense the excitement of all of them.

‘No, there is no mate’ Daxton snapped, I exhaled to keep my mind clear, I am here on a specific mission.

‘Hello Alpha Derek! How was your journey?’ as we were walking inside, Alpha Garrette joined us and shake his hand with me. I stretched my lips.

‘It is a pleasure to have you on our pack but I wonder what brought you here suddenly?’ I can understand his concerns as since I have taken over my pack three years ago I did not visit his pack despite he invited me to.

‘Didn’t my beta informed you about this?’ I know Sebastien has not told him about the reason of my visit but I had to act as if he was supposed to tell him.

‘No’ He looked at Sebastien and said slowly, I turned to look at my beta.

‘Sorry Alpha, I was distracted at that time’ I shook my head disapprovingly and looked back at Garrette again.

‘He should have told you yesterday, anyways, Garrette what bring me here today is that we have learned that’ while I was talking to him and as planned before did not waste my time in formalities instead was ready to bring the reason on the table but suddenly a perfect fragrance of Jasmine and Lavender’s mixture waft through my nostrils causing me to stop and inhale deeply taking in all the scent.

‘Mate’ Daxton shouted in excitement, my hazel orbs turned in to complete golden and switched back to original, I stood from my place immediately making everyone worried.

“What happened Alpha?’ Garrette looked at me with concern. Watching my eyes moving to every corner of the room Sebastien mind linked me.

‘Is everything okay Derek? Did you feel something?’

‘My mate is here’ I responded him through our link and could see his eyes widening in shock, soon Nathan joined him too looks like the news was passed as received.

‘Garrette, I think I am tired of travelling, if you don’t mind we can talk after taking a rest?’ first I decided to tell him that my mate is here and he can help me finding her by calling all the woman in here at the pack house but I want to do it alone, something in my heart tells me I should not let him know about my mate yet until I find her.

Soon we were taken to the guest rooms to rest, but couldn’t holding their excitement Sebastien and Nathan came in to my room after Garrette’s men left.

‘Derek, aren’t you going to find our Luna?’ I sat at the edge of the bed listening to him.

‘I will, that is the reason I postponed my meeting with Garrette’ running the hand on my hair I answered him.

‘Than what are you waiting for? Let’s go out and find her’ Nathan said, I sighed.

‘I don’t know where to find her, the scent vanished as soon as I felt it, it was very faint though’ this troubled me that why her scent was very faint, if it weren’t for my Alpha skills I might had missed my mate.

‘May be she is ill?’ Sebastien gave his opinion, I nodded, this can be the possible reason but still I think I need to find out, it is about my mate and I have to meet her, she could be in danger I am expecting worst from Garrette.

‘I am going to find her’ standing on my feet I was ready to leave, when they both also followed me giving the excuse as this matter is about their Luna and not only me. The hallway was in complete silence, may be all the wolves have gone to their work and pups to school, whatever it was good for me as I will be able to find my mate easily.
