The Alpha's Human Mate

Chapter 4

SERENA’S POV

‘You told us we will have the funniest sight to see’ I complained to Olivia. In greed of having fun and our own time to spend we completed all the work quickly and waited impatiently for all the she wolves to rush towards the door so we can watch the scene un folding in front of our eyes as Olivia explained to us. But to our disappointment Alpha Garrette restricted all those un mated girls to not stand in front of him nor come intentionally on his way, looks like he was really scared of this Alpha, although his own sister Linda argued but Alpha’s decision is final and they had to submit to his command.

Next he came in to the kitchen and warned all of us human to not leave this area until he allows us to, even we were asked to not serve the food on the table to the guest, well I don’t know how to react on this so we all nodded our heads and remained silently in to the kitchen, some of them went back to their rooms to use the opportunity to have a rest but we stayed here in case we get a chance to see something interesting.

‘How would I know that Alpha Garrette will ban all of us from moving’ she was more annoyed than me. Isabella and Ava were also disappointed, he had many alphas as guest before but it was first time we saw him so cluttered.

‘At least he should have allowed us to serve so we can have had the chance to see who this man is with whom Garrette is afraid’ I muttered, Ava nodded her head eagerly showing her agreement, I stood and opened the window letting the fresh air to cheer our moods but it was quickly snapped by someone, surprised I turned to look at who did this but found fuming Linda standing beside me and before I could have retreated, her hand touched to my cheek causing a stinging pain.

‘Why did you slap her?’ Ava asked her angrily.

‘What does the Alpha said to you? Huh?’ we all looked at her in bewilderment.

‘To stay in the kitchen’ Isabella responded her calmly, she is always the one among us to remain calm and handle the situation.

‘Exactly, so what were you doing?’ she looked in to my eyes, causing me to scrunch my nose, she was smelling awful. One of my reason to dislike her, I don’t know how but I could smell their scents and that I figured was because they all have different scents and I could differentiate, although I haven’t told it to anyone here not even my friends as it took me long time myself to accept the fact that I can smell their scent.

‘I just opened the window’ I responded back, she scoffs.

‘Yeah, want to earn the pity from this alpha?’ we all gave her a boring look.

‘You all are same we don’t expect good from you neither from any of your kind’ I retorted back. While she was yelling at us we could hear the voice of someone walking here, it was not something for us to worry because these dogs are always hungry and come occasionally to feed their stomach, but Linda’s face turned pale for a second nevertheless she masked it swiftly and when she turned she had a cheeky smile on her face, a real genuine smile, we all girls shared the look with each other getting curious of who is coming all the way here that had make this wicked woman smile.

‘Alpha Derek, what brought you here? Are you feeling hungry?’ she asked in her most sweet voice which I have not heard for once in these last four years., anyways, I tilted my head to peak at the man who was the hot topic since morning and had kept whole pack house running around his finger.

My breath was taken away when my eyes caught the most handsome man standing in front of us, he is tall and have broad shoulders, his light brown hair were perfectly set on one side of his forehead and he was wearing a white t-shirt with brown cotton pant and a matching jacket over the shirt. His hazel eyes were fixed on me particularly, no one in the kitchen but me and when my eyes caught this I suddenly felt suffocated, why the hell he is looking at me like he wants to eat me.

I quickly hide myself behind Linda but flinch at his voice, his voice was thick but right now I was not in positon of admiring his voice, I was more worried for my life because by mistake I must had offended him, the first rule I learnt after coming here was that I should not in any circumstances shall offend these dogs specially to those who holds high titles.

‘Mate’ when he again repeated the word, I lift myself on my toes to look behind Linda’s shoulder and sighed, now I understood he was looking at Linda and not to me, she is his mate. I felt pity for him. I walked to my friends but was quickly caught by two strong hands making me to shriek at the sudden electrifying spark I felt on my skin at his touch.

‘Mate’ my breath hitched when I saw his golden eyes, but was he calling me as a mate? I turned my head to the right and looked at my friends questioningly, they also had concern laced on their faces.

‘Excuse me Alpha, I think you have been mistaken. Linda is your mate here’ I tried my best to talk calmly and with respect, Linda placed her hand delicately on his arm, I kind of felt a jealousy and rage building inside of me and wanted to tear her hand but I bit my lower lip to compose myself and let her to deal with this tall man who was calling me his mate.

‘Yes Alpha Derek, she is just a lowly human and can’t be your mate’ we all glared at her for calling us a lowly human but for now we let it pass, but looks like Alpha Derek did not appreciate her and soon her back was hit by the wall and his large hand was wrapped around her neck.

‘How dare you call my mate lowly human’ his voice was a little change.

‘Oh no, Daxton has taken the control’ the another young man rushed to him after muttering to another man and tried to pull him back although he failed in doing so, the other man came to me and took my hand and placed it on the back of Alpha Derek and his grip loosened around her letting her to fall on the floor coughing badly to inhale.

We all stood their dumb founded when the Alpha Garrette and his beta came running in to the kitchen.

‘Why are you here Alpha Derek?’ words left his mouth broken.

‘She is my mate’ he holds my hand in his and I shiver at the spark.

‘How? She is human’ Benjamin says the same as Linda and it was enough to irk Alpha Derek.

‘She is not human, why the hell all of you are calling her human’ he shouted at all of them, his alpha aura emitting and caused everyone to submit except Garrette and me, in fact my friends lowered their faces and closed their eyes tightly due to the fear.

‘Derek, let handle this calmly. These all here are human including her’ Garrette was sweating and fidgeting his hand continously.

‘I know they all are human, I can smell them and would talk to you about this but right now I want alone time with my mate’ he said to him in threatening voice, Garrette nodded quickly.

‘No one will follow you’ He took me with him and we left the kitchen behind due to his long steps.

‘Hey, listen to me’ I said softly to him, by now I concluded that if I will talk softly to him he will cause no harm to me.

‘Wait, let me find some place where we will be alone and then we shall talk’ he left the pack house and took me deep in to the forest, I will not lie, I was scaring from inside but kept it hidden from him.

‘Now speak’ once he stopped he motioned me to speak, I was already breathing fast due to matching his steps but his breathing was fine, perks of being a werewolf I guess.

‘See, I am not your mate because I am human and I have to go back to my world it is just the matter of two weeks’ I said quickly before he stops me and starts speaking.

‘First thing you are not human, Daxton can sense your wolf, she is inside you I don’t know the reason why you are denying this fact but you can tell me, I will protect you’ I closed my eyes in frustration.
