CHAPTER FOUR

Tsunami “I want you.” Excited squeals filled the room, at Troy's words. He was kneeling on the floor, holding out a bouquet of roses. Maybe I'd have joined the girls in their shouts and squeals. If only I had been the one he was talking to. My hands were clammy with sweat, and I subconsciously wiped them on my skirt. “Please don't,” My voice was barely audible against the excited ‘Say yes! Say yes!,’ which filled the classroom. Surrounding us were our classmates. I could see the furious looks plastered on some girls' faces. Troy was hot, after all. Except he wasn't, to me. I looked down at Troy's eyes, which held expectation in them. Although I hated to turn him down, there was no way in hell I'd accept him. We had been studying together earlier on, when he'd suddenly told me he had something to say to me. He then went down on his knees, asking me to be his mate. Could my day get any worse? I've never felt any physical attraction towards Troy, except for the fact that he was smart, and we studied together. Throughout those times, I hadn't picked up on any hint that he had a thing on me. As the time stretched on, Troy's face, which was all smiles, was now filled with worry. “Tsunami,” He pushed the bouquet closer to me. I turned my face away, and sighed. “I can't accept your proposal, Troy. Please.” I moved away, but he caught my wrist quickly. My skin crawled at his touch. “I can make you happy, Tsunami. If only you'd let me.” His words sounded cringe, and I almost laughed. It wasn't about him. It was about the fact that I felt no physical attraction towards any guy, aside from them. I knew I loved the triplets. And I couldn't deny my feelings. It hurt that they were going to find their mates someday. While I was going to find mine too. “Don't make this harder than it already is.” I pleaded softly, trying to grab my backpack with my other hand. I didn't care if his reputation was ruined after this. This wasn't about him, it was about me. He rose to his feet, and drew closer to me. I backed away, until my ass hit my table. I fell back on it, staring up at his face. His eyes pleaded with me. “I know what you're hesitant about. The fact that we're classmates?” His words sounded ridiculous. “No, that's not it.” I began saying, but he placed a hand on my cheek, cutting me off. I flinched at his touch on my skin, but I felt nothing. Nothing at all. It might as well have been a simple touch from a stranger. “I know you like me. Just give us a chance.” And at that moment, he'd never looked so stupid. What was he talking about? “I can't.” I shook my head. “You have to.” His eyes darkened, as he brushed his thumb against my cheek, again. I tried backing away from his touch, but his hold was strong. “Let me go,” I requested. A look of fear crossed his eyes, but it wiped off again. “You are letting go of a huge opportunity.” He said. I was getting irritated, and I wanted to wipe off the smug look on his face. Did he actually think he was doing me a favor? “I don't care. Do you know I'm the Alpha's daughter? Let me go, this instant.” I ordered. He moved away. “I'm sorry, I didn't mean to. It's just that.." He stuttered. “Get. Away. From. Her.” I heard a voice order, at that moment. I sighed in relief, as the asshole pulled away. I didn't need to turn before I knew who it was. It was a voice I was so familiar with. I turned to face the door, and true enough, at the entrance stood my brothers. On their faces, were looks that could kill. I hugged myself, as I felt the temperature in the room drop down a few degrees. Troy visibly paled when he turned to face the incoming figures. His hands shook, as he tried hurrying away. But, he wasn't fast enough. Nolan came into view at that moment, with Logan and Rowan tailing him. And they all had murderous looks on their handsome faces. It made my heart flutter, and the butterflies in my belly went haywire. But I didn't get my hopes up. Their possessiveness was because they were my brothers, and not otherwise. “How dare you?” Rowan moved from behind Nolan, and before I could blink, he pushed Troy away. My eyes widened. Since the triplets were soon-to-be Alphas, they couldn't hit another pack member in public. It was forbidden. “Please, please let me go. I promise I wouldn't-” Troy's words were cut off when an angry-looking Nolan interrupted him. “How dare you intercept your Alpha's daughter?” He asked coldly. Troy paled further. I turned to look at his brothers. Silent anger danced in their eyes, but they said nothing. Troy coughed out in pain, from his fall. “If you ever touch her with those stinky hands of yours, it wouldn't end with just a push,” he leaned in close to Troy's ears. The others couldn't hear what he said, but I could. “Meet us at the big tree behind the pack's fountain. 8pm, prompt. I'd advise you shouldn't be late.” He whispered in a cold voice. Troy nodded. “Yes, yes.” I'd never seen any of them so angry. So pissed off. And those possessive words. I'd be damned. The three of them looked at me. Their gaze on my body was like a lit match, hot and burning. I pushed back a shudder, and had barely grabbed my backpack, when Rowan reached out and dragged me out of the classroom. I ignored the stares from my classmates, as we piled into the corridor. I focused instead on my heart, which was racing so hard that it threatened to fall out of my chest. “You are hurting me,” I whispered. And if any of them heard me, they gave no reaction. We rounded a silent corner in the hallway, and they pushed me into a classroom. “What-” I breathed.
