Chapter One: Princess of Egypt
Once long ago in Egypt there was a princess born to the Pharaoh. They named her Bastet Amuna Adofo, she was beautiful. She had beautiful golden tan colored skin; her eyes were a bright green color. She grew up to be a sweet Egyptian princess, who loved her people. She blossomed like a desert rose.
As she grew older her appearance became more and more pleasant. Her hair grew long, the black shininess of it just shined whenever the sun or lamplight hit it. She was not very tall; she stood around five feet six inches.
She had a slim waist, with curvy hips and a large bosom. She was sweet but full of fire. She learned much from her mother and father, especially since being an only child she would be the next in line to rule.
Bastet had been named after the Egyptian Goddess of Cats Bastet. Her father was an avid worshipper of the Goddess and he wanted to give her the greatest gift he could. A childbearing her name was a great gift and because the Goddess of Bastet was so pleased, she blessed the childbearing her name with a gift. She would have an eternal love made only for her.
The Pharaoh was thankful for the blessing, he wanted his daughter to be happy and have love. But he also wanted her to take care of her responsibilities as the princess. But he knew he could not protect his princess forever.
She had many men that wanted to court her but the Pharaoh was very protective of his only child. She was not allowed to be courted by anyone he did not approve of. Although this upset Bastet she was very understanding of her father's feelings and his wishes.
Bastet had a special relationship with the goddess she was named after. She was visited every year on her birthday by the Goddess Bastet. And every year the Goddess gave her a gift. Most years it was jewels, or pretty dresses but on her sixteenth birthday the Goddess gave her a very special gift.
Bastet was given a black panther kitten, one of the Goddesses' own guardians. The small panther was given to Bastet to guard her for life, the Goddess gave it a name, she named him Ankanah. Bastet loved her gift and she took great care of him. He went with her everywhere.
As Bastet got older, she realized she had family, she had friends, but there was something missing. At sixteen she knew what love was, she saw the love that her parents had and she wanted the same kind of love they had. Her father and mother both promised her that one day she would find the love of her life and she would have a true love. The idea of being with someone forever made her happy. But she wondered who her true love would be.
The next year was a whirlwind, she was growing older and continuing to blossom. Bastet would go for walks around the palace and through the desert stores. She would even walk through the palace gardens. She often wore a short dress that clung to her curvy body.
She got a lot of looks from those around her, especially when she stopped to greet the children. The children loved Bastet and when Ankanah was with her, the children would run to greet her. She was going to make a wonderful ruler for her people.
Then one day it happened. There was a man she noticed, and he noticed her. Their eyes connected, her green eyes locked on his deep brown eyes and they stared at each other for a long moment. It felt like the world around them had stopped, until Bastet was interrupted. Ankanah, knowing it was time to go home, came to her and gently put his mouth on her hand and started to lead her away.
As she was being led back to the palace, Bastet glanced back and saw the young man staring at her. She gave him a smile and went home. Bastet could not get the young man she had seen out of her head. He was tall, his skin a dark olive. He was muscular and wore clothing that was fit for royalty.
His face and eyes were mesmerizing, his hair was long and black and kept halfway up and the rest down. Bastet could not help but wonder who the man was.
When she got home her mind was full of thoughts of the young man and she became very distracted thinking about him. Her father interrupted her thoughts and told her he had a surprise for her. He had the servants present her with a box.
Inside was an elegant gown, it was a sheer green that matched her eye color. It had double layers on the top to keep her large bosom hidden. It had small jewels hanging from different areas on the dress. It was beautiful.
The Pharaoh smiled at her as she hugged him, “Wear this tonight for I have an announcement to make.”
Bastet smiled, “Of course father. Thank you, it's beautiful.”
She ran into her room and took a bath and then changed into her new dress. She kept her feet bare and went back into the throne room and sat in her throne that sat a few steps lower than her parents.
She waited patiently, her hair in long braids of jewels, and her crown on her head. She sat with her hands in her lap and waited quietly with Ankanah sitting at her side.
Her father announced to everyone that there would be a new chief of the Pharaoh. And then he made a gesture and the doors to the throne room opened.
Bastet tried to hide her smile as the man she had seen earlier came into the throne room. Their eyes met again and she felt as if a fire had been lit in her soul. She felt something inside her, something she had never felt before. A deep stirring in her innermost parts.
It took all she had to look away from him and pay attention to what her father was saying. It was then she heard his name and everything shifted for her.
