CHAPTER NINETEEN
June 27, 1937 ~ Dr. Steven’s Journal ~ Church. One of the ladies I met at Thelma’s invited me to the Lutheran church and I went. Figured it would appease the townsfolk. There are still many who don’t want me in town. I could be walking down one side of the street, with someone heading right for me. They might look up and see me and cross to the other side.
Today at church, one man and his wife were shuffling into the pew where I was sitting, saw me and shuffled right out. I didn’t see where they ended up.
During the sermon, the preacher seemed to be preaching right to me. And he was.
