CHAPTER TWENTY-TWO Noell looked at the clock after Fletch left with the boxes. Still only four o’clock. Plenty of day left. She wiggled her toes. Shook her body. She felt okay, just a little wired. Visions of sliding into that hole passed through her mind. Dust choked her. The minute she had moved her foot or tried to find a stable footing, she slid farther down. And another snake slithered out. Part of her had been terrified, especially when she heard the plunk, plunk, plunk of rocks bouncing below. But when she heard splashes, her stomach had flip-flopped.
