I'm home. "Darling"
The metallic tang of blood hung in the air.
She moved through it toward the living room, hand drifting to the knife on her hip when she stopped cold.
"Quite the time for a married woman to be coming home "
That voice. Phone call meetings for the past 3 years. Lights switched on. He looked over her slowly, head to toe trying to decide if the blood covering her was hers.
She didn't flinch. Met his eyes "Sneak up on me again and you'll lose your pretty face " She said, meeting his eyes.
He chuckles, low " I believe that".
He continues to look at her as if studying a painting "Well this wasn't the site I expected to see when I came home, Darling" he drags the word probing for a reaction. She scoffs "What? I was supposed to speak to the wind and know that you are coming??" He smirks "Oh so that means you would have made candle lit dinner if I had informed you?". She shakes her head " Didn't take you for a yapper, dear Husband, now if you would excuse me I need a shower", she points at herself and does a dramatic princess bow before she start walking upstairs.
