Her fears

I was so scared to tell him because I thought he might send me back to alpha Karl. My fear increased the moment I notice the seriousness in his eyes. I didn't know what that meant but I knew one thing ' i can't trust him yet '

Alphas were known to share a bond, a peaceful bond that enabled them to depend on each other in terms of wars or any natural phenomena to ensure the safety of their pack members as mothers used to tell.

He frowned looking at my sealed lips. I swallowed hard and staved off my gaze from his. There was no guarantee I was going to say anything and I thought he saw that too" okay" he said in a cold disappointed tone and rose on his feet. It seems he didn't want to force me and that, I appreciated. His easy understanding and silence made me feel bad. I was tempted to tell him when I stared up at his face. He appeared trustworthy but he being an alpha triggered my doubt " what?" I whispered leaving his gaze." Breakfast is ready, come on let's leave" he ordered in a plain voice.

I ran after him out of the room trying to keep up with his pace" should I carry you?" I didn't see him stop and I accidentally bumped into him" oh, sorry" he chuckled and pressed the elevator bottom for it to open. He stepped in gawking at me with his mysterious eye color as if telling me to follow him" where are we heading?"l watched up at his cold face" to my penthouse" he said and I nodded pressing my lips in a thin line." Do you have any problem with that?" I shook my head. How could I tell what I want when I didn't feel like I had a choice?

Suddenly the elevator halted with a shake knocking me to the floor. I moaned in pain as I struggled to stand back. " are you okay?" He pulled me by the waist and I felt something strange, a tickling sensation within me. I nodded which I doubt he noticed because it was like he was avoiding my gaze." f**k!" He kicked the door with a lot of anger. " are we stuck here?" He shook his head still avoiding my stares.

He stayed silent as if he was trying to think" get your f*****g ass here" he hissed turning his back on me and running his fingers through his pure hair. " am sorry" I murmured with my head down " why are you apologizing?" His tone rough but low." Because we are trapped?" I watch his face with my chin raised high" and you think it's your fault?" His attention was directed to the door as if looking at something. " maybe" I whispers but I knew he heard me because he was a werewolf and his hearing abilities were much stronger than that of a normal wolf because of the alpha blood.

Mom once said alphas were stronger than normal wolves. With the few hours I had spent with him and in the blood moon pack, I couldn't deny she was right.

He chuckled as he flush me a quick smile" did you just..." 'smile.?'. I couldn't finish my statement when a cracking sound penetrated my ears.

" come down alpha, am right here" I heard Copper's sarcastic voice

After a few minutes, the elevator unsealed and we stepped out. There was Copper and three other guys had not seen before" fire him" he made this sentence in his demanding cold tone " why" upon hearing my word, he stopped" some people are lazy to work with" he passed continuing his steps, we ended in front of a golden door which opened on it own.

The room was very beautiful!. It had everything luxury I ever dreamed of. My gaze got stuck to the beautiful large butterfly sketch on the wall. I loved butterflies, the background flowers were incredible. I stopped on my track and traced my steps to the wall on my left. I ran my finger down the wall, feeling the smooth surface of it as an amused smile crept on my face.

When mom and I were living in the woods a little far from everyone, I was always on the field playing and having fun. I loved the green plants and all the beautiful flowers on the field.

" Breakfast is ready, beautiful" Copper whispered in my ears snapping me from my thought. I looked to see him smiling and the alpha was already seated with a plate in front of him with his stares burning on Copper as if he was angry " we can come here anytime you want" he proposed glaring back at the alpha with a teasing smile " really" I asked in a soft voice. The alpha's stares were making me uncomfortable but somewhere within me, I wished he would only look at me with those eyes. He was nice to be around. For some reason, I wanted to be by him and not go anywhere probably because he was a little nice to me.

The meal smelled good that my mouth watered. I blinked a few times to make sure I wasn't dreaming. I couldn't quite remember the last time I ate something this good." Want to join?" The alpha raised a brow and I nodded. I needed a fill-in badly.

I took a seat beside the alpha. He filled my plate and watch me shove meat in my mouth. I was not enjoying my food in peace because of my hair which kept subsiding on my face. The spoon in my hand appeared shocking as I felt a cold hand touch my bare neck. I watched back" alpha" I whispered sensing the warmth of his touch and the strange sensation It transferred to my skin. He chuckled folding my hair together in a high ponytail." All good" he said finding his way back to his seat. " good?" I emulated his word. " you can order something else if you like" he said concentrating on his food. Copper winked at me before diving into his plate " do you own this place? " he replied with silence" I mean this hotel?"

" yes, he owns it. " Copper was the one to open his mouth. " just thought of saying that " he explained and I smiled. He was funny and friendly. I felt like we would be great friends, that was if I get to stay in his pack.

I plucked my hand up to feel the work he had done. It wasn't bad, he did it just like mom used to do it " do you have a daughter, like me, or maybe a mate?" both Copper and the alpha met my gaze and I guiltily lowered my head. I had no idea where that came from nor why I asked that. I felt like I have disrespected him " take care of her" he dropped the fork and stood up nonchalantly. He dipped his hand in his pocket and before he left the room, he slipped to the table space In front of me was a small black box.

I didn't know what to do with it or maybe waiting for some sort of explanation or perhaps a go-ahead " happy birthday" he said casually.

After breakfast Copper refused to take me out of the hotel because he thought I would put him in trouble which I didn't quite understand. " what do you what to say?" I asked playing with the small box in my hand. I had not opened it yet because I didn't know how and Copper would only laugh at me if I asked for his help. So I thought it was better I held onto it. " the alpha is gonna get angry if anything happened to you" he sighed. I stubbornly approached him on the couch. I wanted to go outside and scan the place. I heard there were places around here where kids play and beautiful buildings that served as tourist sites." how will I put you in trouble while walking beside you? You can hold my hands so that I won't get separated from you" I made a pleading expressing to trick him just like how I used to get mom to allow me to go out of the house. " your trick won't work on me kid" the moment he said that I frowned. I hated it when am called that. Mom said reaching age ten move you from the kid's category. So why was he calling me a kid when am not? " am ten if you may know" I moved backward till I was on the balcony, and I heard him chuckle. The view up was amazing and fulfilling. I hemmed a sigh as tears wet my lashes.

I knew this won't last. The good food, the luxurious bed, and the clean dress. I glanced down at myself twisting the hem of my dress.

" thinking of jumping off?" I knew the voice well. I shook my head. " can I ask you something?" I licked my dry lips " I hope you won't try to bribe me" he grinned looking at me from the corner of his eyes. " is he always like that?"

" you can tell," he shrugged staring into space. " which pack are you from?" He inquired grabbing my attention." A rogue" I whispered truthfully. I was until we got captured by the warriors of the blood moon pack " you don't smell like one" he said lazily. Doubt was evident in his voice. He didn't believe me which I didn't expect. " any parents?" I shook my head. He sounded like that cold alpha. " did he ask you to do that?"

" do what?" He opened his arms and tagged them in his pocket. " not that smile again".I Waved him off crossing my hands on my chest portraying my stubborn nature. " just order me and I will obey" he said. "you're just handsome" I said and he started laughing" wait, did a kid just praise me?"

" am ten!" I screamed to make it conclusive. Am not a kid!

" you think I don't know?" he asked and I rolled my eyes averting my gaze from him. " you are just ignorant" I hissed for him to chuckle. " listen, kid, .." I interrupted him " Leona"

" yes I remember that" he nodded

" beta!" I turned to see a tall muscular man with long black hair. " what is it this time, Moses?" Copper sounded irritated and I couldn't stop beaming. " beta?" I murmured " don't even try that" he shook a finger as if warning me." alpha Kane wants you to return to the pack house" he announced and averted his gaze towards me " copy that"

" alpha Kane?" I stood silent with my eyes widely opened, I got scared.

The alpha I sheared an enemy with was right beside me a while ago and I didn't know. I thought I had to do something, what if alpha Karl kills him like mom? I started shedding tears without my knowing, maybe because I thought I wouldn't be able to save him.

I couldn't understand why the goddess brought me to this alpha. Maybe she wanted to save him through me. I lost my mom because of him. Alpha Karl killed my mom and now Alpha Kane. I had to do something but I doubt his beta would listen" I wonder where he is right now" I said without realizing I said it out until Copper spoke and interrupted my thought" why, are you worried about him?" I nodded for him to chuckle" he is a strong alpha, I know I can't prevent you from worrying."

Sometimes he says things that only my chest organ seems to understand.

" Why do you look scared?" I had no idea, maybe I was scared of what would happen to him probably because I didn't want to lose my savior. Copper raised my chin to look him in the eye" what do you feel? Tell me" I met his gaze and realized he was serious. I guessed if I wanted to save him, I would need to trust his beta. I nodded, fear was written all over my face.

" We need to head to the blood moon pack. Make sure to call some back up" he instructed Moses.

Wait, how did he know why I was afraid?

How did he know Kane was in trouble?

I panicked...
