~Ivy
“Really?” Cameil said, stepping closer to me as though she wasn't bothered by my words at all.
“I can't believe you still held on to the hope that if I lost this game, I'd actually kneel before you. How pathetic can you be?”
She gave me a sarcastic smile.
I couldn't control the anger coursing through my veins anymore. Deep down, I had known that this b***h would never keep her word.
“What now?” Her voice jolted me out of my thoughts. “Are you going to beat me or force me to kneel before you against my will? Joke's on you, Ivy!”
“You're right. I won't force you to kneel before me, but I can do this...”
I paused.
Then, without warning, I landed a filthy slap across her face.
“This is what you get for going against our agreement! An agreement is an agreement, Cameil!”
“How dare you raise your hand against my fiancée?” Lysander immediately cut in.
Cameil clutched her cheek angrily.
I wasn't surprised. After all, Lysander had promised her the entire world. Defending her in a situation like this was probably the least he could do.
“I'm not in any way ready to argue with you, Lysander!” I retorted. “Besides, your wife agreed to this challenge! Whatever she brings upon herself, I'll give back to her. So don't expect me to simply let this go when she's clearly at fault.”
“You b***h!” Cameil barked from behind him.
“You can't even admit that you were miserable and wretched and, most of all, barren, which was the reason Lysander divorced you! Accept the fact that I am Lysander's wife and get the hell out of our lives!”
“You bastard!”
I instinctively moved toward Cameil, ready to attack her, but Ethan quickly pulled me back.
“Don't waste your time on either of them!” he said. “We have things to attend to, unlike them.”
His words helped cool my temper.
I took one last look at Lysander and Cameil.
My eyes said everything I couldn't be bothered to say aloud.
I wasn't done with them.
“Let's go, Ivy,” Ethan said.
I turned around and started walking away.
“You're never going to get away with this, Ivy!” Cameil shouted behind me. “I'll make sure you get slapped across that filthy face very soon!”
I ignored her ranting and walked out of the banquet.
Anger continued to pile up inside me.
Although I had accomplished what I wanted at the event tonight, Cameil had still managed to get under my skin by calling me barren.
That word hurt more than I wanted to admit.
When we got home, Ethan assured me that this battle was his battle too. He wouldn't rest until he helped me achieve my goal and clear my name once and for all.
“Have a good night,” he said.
He covered my body with the duvet before switching off the light and walking out of the room.
I didn't understand why Ethan was being so kind and thoughtful toward me, but I appreciated his approach.
Lysander had never been like this.
Today was just another day of humiliating Cameil, but I didn't think my precious little boy was satisfied with this outcome.
This was only the beginning of my wrath.
They had yet to see what I had in my hands.

CAMEIL
It had been a long time since I last spoke to Mom and Dad, so I decided to pay them a visit.
My dad had managed to establish his identity as the President's PR, and that always gave me a certain level of attention whenever I appeared in public.
But now, Ivy was back in the game, acting as though she knew more about it than everyone else.
I didn't know exactly what she wanted, but I would never allow her to take Lysander away from me.
That was the reason I had arranged this meeting with my parents.
“About the plan you shared with us over the phone, are you sure this plan will succeed?” Mom asked as she sipped from her cup of tea.
“That's right, sweetheart,” Dad added. “You know that I just got fired from my position as the President's PR. The connections I have are beginning to disappear. There's no way I can—”
“It's only for a few days, Dad!” I cut him off. “I need this position so I can prove to Lysander that I'm still as influential as before.”
I leaned closer.
“Remember, he loved me five years ago because I was the daughter of the President's PR. Once he discovers that I'm the new VP of Landings Group, he won't waste any time marrying me!”
I paused before adding, “The longer we waste time, the easier it becomes for Ivy and Lysander to reunite. I can't stand the thought of them getting back together. At least, not while I'm alive!”
“Okay then, sweetheart.” Dad reached out and rubbed my shoulders reassuringly. “I'll speak to the President of Landings. Our family has been close to them all these years, and their VP just stepped down. I'll convince him to take you in as his VP.”
He smiled.
“Is that okay with you?”
I nodded and immediately hugged my dad.
As I held him tightly, I couldn't help but remember how rocky my relationship with Lysander had become ever since Ivy came back into the picture.
When Lysander learned that I was the new heiress to Landings Group, he would marry me instantly.
And as for Ivy?
She would end up being the loser right in front of them.
I couldn't wait to see the look on her face when she learned that I was getting married to Lysander.
She would definitely be rolling her eyes in disbelief.

It had been three days since I discussed my plan with Dad, and now, his call finally came through.
“Dad!” I answered excitedly.
“Sweetheart,” he responded in a cheerful voice. “Mark Jones of the Landings Group just approved our request. Now, you'll be able to do what—”
I hung up before he could finish and flung my phone onto the bed in excitement.
This was the news I'd been waiting to hear for ages!
Now, my marriage to Lysander would work out, and I would become the latest bride in this country by marrying the most handsome billionaire in Nether.
As I celebrated, another call came through.
It was from the bridal store I had contacted earlier.
They told me that my bridal clothes were ready.
The store also sent me pictures of the bridal outfits, and an idea immediately crossed my mind.
I should send them to Ivy.
It would be nice to tell Ivy that I was getting married to Lysander soon.
“Hahahaha!”
