I fled to the couch and held my knees tightly with my arms. I wanted to disappear. I did not want to face that psycho again. Fleeing was futile though. He would catch up to me. The door was probably locked again anyway. What will I do? I could not deny that my body was aching. I wanted him. I was on fire for him and he was the only one who could satisfy me. Fully. Completely. I was f****d. I wanted him to f**k me so hard. That was deep in our DNA to f**k and mark our mate. Survive and reproduce. That was the most important to our wolves. He might be a horrible psycho but he was still my mate. Lara was right. There was no way to escape him. My only option was to fight with what I had. My body. Our bond. He did stop when I told him no firmly. That might work again. Only one way to find out. He exited the shower and his scent hit me like a train as he entered the room. He smelled so nice too. How could he be so mean and so tempting at the same time? He was a poisoned apple. Tempting but deadly. He walked to where I was and he tilted his head seeing me in a foetal position on the couch. Concern then showed in his cat's eyes and he crouched to be at my level. He passed a hand through my hair and rubbed my cheek with his fingers. "Are you all right baby?" He asked. "Yes. I'm fine." I sighed. He smiled immediately and that was such a warm smile too. Damn it. It would be so much easier if I did not feel any attraction to him. "Why are you so sad then?" He asked. "That should be obvious. My mate wants to kill my family." "I'm your family now." I shook my head and I felt him tense. Before he could explode I continued to speak. "I thought family was important to the mafia. Why do you want to kill mine? Let me talk to my father and I'm sure that we can find some sort of agreement. You don't need to kill them all." He sighed and retrieved his hand before sitting on the couch next to me. He pulled me into his lap and I let him. I actually wanted his comfort. As disgusting as it was, I could not help it. The sparks were soothing me and making him so comfortable for me. He led me against his chest and stroked my hair, the gesture gentle and comforting so I settled my head in the crook of his neck and took a sniff. He smelled so good. Pine needles and the sea. So good I sighed. He was so gentle right now. This guy was the epitome of whimsical really. "You don't understand yet what we do here babygirl. It's ok. It'll take time since your pack is peaceful. I'm happy that you were raised in such an untainted environment but it's not how things work here." He said. "Does it have to be?" I asked. "Will your father accept violence and trafficking on his lands? Will he accept me as your mate? I don't think so." "My father and my brother respect the laws of our world. They can't do anything against you as my mate." I frowned. "See? They respect the laws which means they will try to rat me out to the Council of Werewolves. I can't deal with that because that would bring my pack in jeopardy. I haven't fought this long to get them in danger. They must die and we'll merge packs with the survivors. They will behave as long as you're by my side." "So I'm just a pawn to you?" I spat. "You know that's not true. Can't you feel it baby? Our bond? I can't wait to make you fully mine." He said softly. I shook my head and glared at him. I would never accept that. My happiness was not more valuable to me than the life of my family. "I won't accept your mark as long as you're threatening my family." I said determined. He growled and I wrapped my arms around his waist to hug him to me. The rejection was hurtful but I had to say what was on my mind. "I'm not saying that I won't let you mark me ever. I want to change your mind." I continued. He relaxed a bit sensing that I was not fully rejecting him. Good. I avoided another conflict for now. I did not know how long he would be holding back with all my defiance. "You do huh? Well... We're playing a dangerous game you and me and I suppose that I have to let you make your moves. That would only be fair." He said amused. "Will you let me talk to my father then?" I asked hopeful. He tensed and I stroked his side. I was trying to comfort him as I was seeing another side to him. The mate bond made it hard for him to resist me but he was still trying and Goddess knows how strong he was. "No." He said finally. I parted from him to look into his eyes. I could see his resolve and he would not budge. I sighed and parted from him completely falling on the couch. He did not try to stop me. He knew that I needed the space thanks to our bond. "Why not?" I asked. He steeled his gaze and I could not really decipher what was going through his mind. That was the first time I regretted not being able to read his mind. Once completed, the mate bond would allow us to communicate more. "That's not necessary." He said simply. "My way is the only way." "Really? You're getting all Alpha on me?" I frowned. "I'm the Alpha here. That's final. I will hear no more of this." He stood up and so did I. I would not let him boss me around like one of his wolves. "Fine. I'll get myself another mate then." I said angrily. He growled and I growled right back. I was an Alpha too. That was when the door opened and in came a blue eyed blond that looked all like a Victoria's Secret model wearing a dress so short I could see her butt. Who does that? "Dante." She said. "What's the meaning of this? You found your mate? Is that her?" She walked directly to him and wrapped herself around him. He did not respond but he did not push her either. Fine. I turned on my heels as rage surged through my body and shifted right on the spot. My light grey almost silver coated she-wolf looked at them and bolted out of the room. The doors were unlocked so now was my chance. I ran through the corridors but then I heard a roar. s**t. He was coming after me. I doubled my speed and passed by a lot of pack members that were shocked to see an Alpha female run like Death was following her. Maybe it was. Dante seemed pissed, furious would be more accurate. I ran through the village and into the forest. My paws were digging dirt as I ran and that would definitely leave an imprint. I did not care. I needed to cross the border with my pack so I could use the mind-link. It was all I needed. My lungs were burning and my legs were aching. I was not used to run at such speed for so long but I could not stop. I knew what would happen if I did. Two warriors tried to stop me as I neared the border but they missed. They were too big and not fast enough for me. I was almost there. Only a few more meters. I could see the end of the forest when I was tackled down. The force of the movement sent me flying and my snout ended in the mud as well as my entire body. I could feel a sharp pain going through my flank and I whimpered. s**t. That was definitely bleeding. I turned my head to see the biggest werewolf I had ever seen. He was a midnight black with hints of blue and a white star on his head. So beautiful. All mine. That was what my she-wolf thought even if she was bleeding because of him right now. He growled above me and I stood back up. My side hurt like a b***h but I had to stand. I would not give him the satisfaction of seeing me cower. I growled low as well refusing to submit. He marched on me and I protected my side with my tail lowering my head ready to strike. He was not in an offensive stance though. He marched on me like he owned the place. I bared my teeth as he was so close but that did not faze him. He reached for my neck with his fangs and dragged me like a pup. What the hell?! I wiggled to get free of him and his grip tightened making me whimper. Another wolf was following him and that was the she-wolf from earlier. Her coat was golden and she looked between us. She was pissed. Well join the club b***h. I kicked my legs from underneath me and the gesture surprised Dante so much that he released me. I jumped on the she-wolf and submitted her immediately by biting her neck and throwing her on the ground. I did not like my mate but that did not mean that he was not mine. She whimpered underneath me and I stopped only when I felt the blood in my mouth. Dante growled behind me and I released her. I turned around and walked back to the pack house. Yes, I wanted to limp but there was no way I was limping in front of that b***h and Dante. No way in Hell.
