As the day went on, I greeted all meeting members at the door and lead them into Roman's office. I ordered Roman's lunch, a spicy chicken wrap and salad and an afternoon pick me up coffee for him. I called Aiden to see if he was available to bring a few dresses over and be able to alter them last minute for Roman's date for the charitable event tonight and he screeched into my ear over the phone. So I took that as a yes. I drew up the cashiers check for him tonight and made a huge one for pictures. Antoinette came by early afternoon and I greeted her happily at the door.
"Ah, Ruby darling, are you adjusting to your new role well?" she asked as I led her into Roman's office.
"Yes madame, instead of keeping up with multiple calenders, I just watch Roman's. I just ordered him some lunch, would you like me to get you anything at all?"
"Oh no, but thank you dear. I will help myself to the liquor cabinet," she laughed.
"If you need anything don't hesitate to call," I knocked on the door for her and opened it when I heard the gruff, "Enter."
When Roman's lunch arrived, I paid the delivery boy and tipped him. I knocked on the door and entered after making his lunch look plate worthy and sat it beside him with some water. He glanced at it, and smiled just for a second before returning back to his work.
"Your tailor will be here in an hour for fitting and alterations as well as my friend from Michael Kors, what is a rangeable size that I can give him so he can bring a variety of dresses?" I asked politely.
Roman's eyes looked me up and down, making my heart flutter and sending a shiver of my spine, "Whatever size you wear would be perfect," he said.
"Very well, I will let him know. The picture check and the real check are both ready as well, please don't hesitate to call if either of you need anything," I smiled and walked out of the office, shutting the doors behind me.
Antoinette looked at her son as she blew smoke from her lips, "and just who are you taking to this event?"
"Upset that I am not taking you like always?" he asked his mother.
"Quite the contrary dear, I am ecstatic that you have a date. I am just curious as to who has caught your eye," she smiled.
"I had a date lined up from Victoria's Secret but, I think I am going to make a last minute switch," he smirked as he stared at his computer screen, leaning back in his chair.
"Oh, this wouldn't happen to be a blue haired girl who works for you right?" she eyed him suspiciously as she blew another puff of smoke out.
"Possibly," he said reaching for his cellphone and dialing a number. He waited, hearing it ring before and high-pitched voice answered on the other end, "Hi Romey, I am so excited for our date tonight, what time do I need to be there?"
"Change of plans Bianca, I need to cancel," he stated flatly.
"What!? You can't just cancel on me? Do you know who I am?!" she shrieked.
"I do and I'm afraid that doesn't impress me in the least, good day Bianca," he hit the end button on his phone just as the girl screamed in his ear.
"Well, I can't say I am not happy about this change. I dislike that influencer model girl. She is quite annoying, Roman dear," Antoinette leaned back into the sofa to sip her martini.
"Agreed," said Roman as he took a bite of the wrap that Ruby had brought. His eyes shot open as he chewed, and he smiled slightly. Ruby picked something he actually liked for the second time today.
An hour went by and I knocked on the door to the office and showed the tailor inside. I went to clear Roman's plate, expecting it to still be there but was astonished that he had eaten every bite. I grabbed the plate and smiled at him, "I'm glad you liked what I picked."
"Immensely so, Ruby. I need you to clear your schedule this evening. You will be attending the charity event with me tonight," he stated flatly.
"Excuse me?" I said, looking at him as if he were crazy.
"Unfortunately, my date couldn't make it this evening and it's hard to find another last minute. In these scenarios, it is in your job description to fill the role when needed," he said standing in the middle of the room for the tailor to take measurements.
My mouth was wide open, "I-I am happy to go but I have no makeup or shoes other than what I have on."
"Your friend is the designer yes?" he asked and when I nodded he continued, "pick a dress that matches your shoes or have him bring a few pairs to try. I am paying for everything so do not worry about cost," he smirked at me.
My eye twitched visibly and he had the audacity to snicker at me. I forced my composure, "very well then Roman, I shall accompany you to this event."
I turned on my heels and walked out of the office, just in time for Aiden to come out of the elevator door and squeeze me into a tight hug.
"You beautiful thing you! Who am I doing this dress for, I am so excited, like OMG," he squeeled.
I patted his arms to signal him to let me go and I smoothed out my clothes, "Change of plans babe, it's for me," I said as I held my arms out to him.
"Oh," his tone went from excited to dull and his face fell. I flipped him off in response.
"Don't be an ass, I wasn't expecting to go either," I dropped my arms to my sides and face planted on my desk, "ughhhh why do I have to go!"
"Think of the positives my lovely Belle, at least you are going with the most handsome CEO the world has to offer," Aiden pointed out.
"Yeah...I guess..." I muttered.
"Luckily for you, I brought not only your size but dresses for curvy women too, I didn't know the model so I picked a few out for any possibility," he clapped at me, "where are we doing this thing?"
"I guess in the office bathroom, Roman is in there right now getting measured," I quickly pushed off my desk and knocked before opening the door. Roman was already dressed in a navy blue suit with a white button down shirt underneath his jacket. He purposefully left the top buttons open to reveal a masculine chest. He let his black hair hang in his face to promote a messy, approachable look. Insert drool here.
"Roman, this is Aiden Winters, he is my designer friend from Michael Kors, he will be designing the dress," I said with a bow.
"It is truly an honor Mr. Song, I am not only a huge fan of Eclipse but im a huge fan of you, and of course my Belle here," Aiden said as he grasped his hand and shook it vigorously.
Roman raised his eyebrow at him, "Belle?"
I shot Aiden a 'dont you f*****g dare' look and he grinned. "That's my nickname for Ruby. She's so country and cute, I call her our Southern Belle."
Roman covered his mouth to stiffen a laugh, "how adorable."
"I f*****g hate you, fashionista asshole," I muttered and Aiden stuck his tongue out at me and winked.
"Would it be alright to use the bathroom to change Roman?" I asked politely.
"You may use the office. I will step out to give you privacy," Roman said as he placed gold cuff links into his sleeves before walking out with the tailor and his mother.
After the door shur behind them, Aiden began fanning himself dramatically, "I could just eat him whole!"
"Yeah he's.....hot," I whispered and then shook my head to clear the inappropriate thoughts about my boss.
"Ok Aiden honey, let's do this. What did you bring?" I asked as he placed the bags of dresses down on the desk.
"Well Belle, I only brought one navy dress to match, but its my most stunning one, and I think it would look divine on you and your figure," he placed his finger over his mouth in thought.
He shrugged and opened the bag and turned as I dressed into it. It was indeed luxurious. I typically wore bigger clothes to hide my curves, but this dress accented them noticeably. It was a suede navy blue dress that fit like another skin, hugging every flare of my hips and breasts. It had one sleeve and left my other shoulder bare and was lined with diamond like jewels along the top. It flowed to the bottom and had a giant slit lined also with diamonds, that came up to mid-thigh. Aiden straightened my hair, to accent my neck and gave me a silve and black smokey eye with black lipstick. He placed white sequined stilletos on my feet, because there was no way I could bend down in the mother, and accented my look with a sequined handbag and large diamond earrings.
He painted over my almond shaped nails with a matte black and blue polish to match. I ran my fingers through my hair as I twirled to show myself and Aiden clapped, "Stunningly gorgeous! If he won't take you honey, I'll turn straight just for you."
We kissed each other's cheek as he snuck out the door to present me, "May I introduce your stunning secretary: Ruby Connor!"
The double doors opened and I walked forward, my head down to hide my blush from being flaunted in front of someone. I glanced up to see Roman staring intensely at me. I couldn't exactly read the emotion in his blue eyes, but it was something passionate.
"My, my, Ruby darling, you are a dream!" Antoinette came to hug me.
I awkwardly hugged her back and smiled, "thank you madame."
I walked up to Roman and smiled up at him as he continued to stare at me, "are we ready to go now?"
My words snapped him out of his stupor and he nodded. We all got onto the elevator and Aiden waved bye at us cheerfully as he and Antoinette exited through the front door. We headed towards the parking garage where Roman's limousine was waiting, to avoid any paparazzi.
It was an effort in vain and the doors opened and the vultures swarmed. Roman walked past the effortlessly as I struggled to make a few steps. Roman held his arm out for me and I clung to him as he opened the door for me and helped me inside. I could hear them ask questions to him as he closed my door and walked around to his side to get in, like "who is your date this evening?" "what happened to Bianca Des Moines?" and "is this your newest love affair?"
I just put my head into my hands and knew I would be in magazines on going viral in just a few short hours. Roman placed his arm around my shoulders and whispered to me, "ignore them. They just need stuff for their mundane careers, don't worry about it."
I smiled softly at him, "thanks Roman."
"I will make sure you have fun tonight, just be yourself," he smiled back at me.
I clicked my tongue at him, "I doubt you want my real country bumpkin to show herself."
"I actually like her better than the civilized girl you pretend to be," he grinned at me and my heart fluttered.
'What is this feeling I am getting' I wondered as the limosuine drove off to our destination.
