Chapter 38
From inside the chapel, Ciaran watched Tadgh scramble to his feet and try to leap into the chapel. As with Hoyt, he hit the shield at the door and landed on the ground with a thud.
“What the hell?” Tadgh growled.
“It seems the shield blocks anyone who has dematerialized, Tadgh,” Ciaran said.
“She’s going to explode! Get out of there, Ciaran!” Tadgh exclaimed, pointing to Sizx, who was lying on the floor.
Ciaran picked Gaia up and walked out. He handed Gaia to Madeline. “Liam was just killed,” he told her. She gathered Gaia into her arms as the little girl teared up again.
