The surprise
It was the second week since she started feeling all weak and sick. She really got sick . she found out that she had started having cravings. It was her second trip to the bathroom in the morning.
He husband, Eric had already left for work. lately he has been coming late at home and leaving early in the morning without saying a word to her.
They barely said hello to each other. But she had enough of it and she was going to settle whatever it is that they were going through.
First she had to go and see a doctor, she had her suspicions but she wanted to be sure she was pregnant, Eric always wanted a child, but it took her long to get pregnant but Eric was supportive of her, she was taking her hormonal pills and she knew she would be okay. They would get a child.
she had to be sure before giving Eric any false hopes.
she prepared quickly and drove to the hospital, it dodn't take her long to see her doctor and it was confirmed that she was indeed pregnant. No words would explain how ecstatic she felt, and she knew that that piece of information would lift her husband's mood.
she left the clinic hurriedly clinging her test results on her chest heading towards her husbands company.
when she got to the company, people gave her sympathetic glances but she just shrugged it off. once she got to her husbands floor, she found it weird that the secretary was not there but her husband's office was occupied. She had a bad feeling in her heart but she thought it was due to the fatigue and stress she was going through.
She knocked the door but there was no response. she pushed the door open and found some papers on the floor. on the edge of the office sofa there laid her husband's coat, shirt and tie and a dress which certainly didn't belong to her but seemed too familiar to her eyes.
It didn't take a genius to figure out what was going on, but she composed her self and pushed the door towards her right which was her husbands office resting nest. It was fully equipped with a bed, closet and a bathroom. It was only meant for the both of them. She peaked her head inside and heard some moans and groans,
she pushed the door and entered fully in the room. On the bed her husband and her cousin laid in bed having the best time of their life. tears clogged her eyes and a gasp left her mouth. which caused their both heads to snap in her direction almost breaking their necks.
The surprised look in her husbands face disappeared as soon as it appeared, he now had a smirk on his face. almost mocking her, her cousin had a smug look on her face.
"How long has this been going on?"
"It started three months ago" her cousin answered. "When Eric realised you could not give him a child, and i am eight weeks pregnant"
She was now laughing at her, having her husband still buried inside her cousin.
"Eric, tell her about the divorce," on mentioning of the word divorce, Eric detached himself from her and stared at his wife, looking lost. " come on babe, tell her about us, the baby, the divorce and our wedding."
Eric stiffened slightly but didn't move or talk for some time.
"Yes Estelle, what she said" Eric responded,
"Okay, just bring the divorce papers, i will sign them" Estelle replied and left the office in a rush, All the employees were giving her sympathetic glances but she held her head high and rushed to her car.
she had one destination in mind, the cemetery, she had to visit her parents and talk to them, though they could not hear her, at least she would talk to someone. She wished her parents were alive, They would comfort her a time like now. She knew her Aunt would add fuel into the fire and she would not help her. she had to be strong for her unborn baby, it was going to be tough oon her but she knew she had to do everything in her power to keep her baby safe. her marrage was done but that didn't mean the end of her life. It was the begining of a new chapter. It was going to take a toll on her she would take her time heal and keep moving, she had someone to take care of. the baby growing in her womb. she was determined to do all she had to keep her safe.
