Chapter 12

~Reagan All the men seemed shocked that my wolf was still alive, frankly I had been too, but I knew that the Moon Goddess had bigger plans for me. I continued explaining to the men about my life at Tree Spore pack and who was involved. There weren't many people, besides Ashley, Janice, Eric and a couple other guards. We talked for a while longer before the doctor told me I needed to rest. My throat was extremely sore, and I was getting exhausted. I told Aiden and Nate that they didn't have to stay with me, and they could go get some rest, and that I would be fine by myself. I had been alone for so long that even though it was pleasant having my mates near by I was ok with having some time alone. After a lot of convincing they finally agreed to go back to their pack house to eat and shower and do some work. I knew I'd be safe at the hospital, Aiden and Nate had told me they had gotten all of the people that were part of the auction and Janice and Ashley were locked up. The men left and the doctor gave me some medicine that would help with any pain and to sleep and I fell into a deep sleep. I woke up and could smell the scents of my mates who must have come in and checked on me while I was sleeping. I could tell from the small window that it was around midday, despite the fact that my mates had pulled the curtains closed so it would be dark in the room. "Amethyst?" I called out to my wolf. "I'm here." She replied. "Are you ok?" I asked her. "I'm much better, in a few days I'll be one hundred percent and I can heal you better." She said and I smiled softly. I was glad to hear my wolf and know that she was doing much better, I hadn't thought that she would actually respond to me already, the Moon Goddess had told me she needed her rest. I figured she would still be sleeping trying to heal. "I'm glad you're ok, take all the time you need, I'm ok." I told her. "I know, but I want to talk to our mates too." She said and I giggled. "They seem nice." I told my wolf and she agreed. She promised me that they were good men and wouldn't hurt me and I knew that was the truth. I was still a bit concerned about the Moon Goddess's warning about being careful who we trusted. Amethyst told me we were special and I knew that, why else would someone want to keep me alive for fifteen years, it didn't make a lot of sense. Amethyst and I chatted some more, before we both decided that we needed some more sleep, she said that sleep would help both of us heal and we could get out of the hospital sooner. I woke up a few hours later, feeling even better than I had before. Amethyst was still sleeping so I didn't bother her this time. There was a soft knock at my door and then a head poked through the door, I could tell by the scent that it was the doctor. "Hello" I told him softly and he opened the door more, the soft light from the hallway filtering in, I closed my eyes for a moment and then opened them again. He started to close the door but I stopped him. "I want to get used to the light." I told him and he nodded, the light was soft enough it didn't bother me too much. "I've let your mates know you are awake, they've been checking on you repeatedly, but I told them that you needed the sleep to continue healing." Doctor Mark told me. I nodded. "My wolf and I woke up for a bit and chatted and she said the same thing." I told him. It didn't take long before I could smell the delicious scents of my mates in the hallway, they knocked before entering and smiled at me. I was finally able to see how good looking they were. I couldn't wait to get out of the hospital to spend time with them. I knew that I had had a horrible life leading up to meeting them, but I had never been sexually assaulted and they hadn't harmed me. I knew that the three of us were part of something bigger, so I had to trust them. Plus my parents had always taught me that no matter how though life got you had to push through. My mates came and sat on either side of the bed, as the doctor continued my exam. He told me that he could remove the casts that were holding my bones into place, but now that Amethyst and I were getting stronger my bones were healing much better on their own and no longer needed assistance. The doctor removed the casts and I felt better, though a bit stiff, but no serious pain. The doctor also said I could start eating real food again, I had been on some IV nutrient and fluids while I was sleeping. He explained that my stomach would be very tiny so I could only eat small meals to start as not to shock my system but my tolerance for food would improve. Doctor Mark left and a nurse came and left a tray of food for me and my mates helped me sit up and eat. There was some light soup and a warm roll, it was delicious and I ate as much as I could. Getting a little bit of food in my belly made me feel much better. "Would you like to go for a walk?" Nate asked me and I nodded. Aiden went and grabbed a wheelchair and the two men carefully helped me into the chair, the placed a blanket on my lap and made sure I was warm and comfortable. Together the pushed me outside, they had explained they had asked the pack to stay away so that I wouldn't be overwhelmed and I appreciated their thoughtfulness. We made it outside and for the first time in fifteen years I finally felt free, the warm sun on my face and slight breeze. I took in a deep breath of fresh air and knew everything would be ok.
