Chapter 14

It felt so good to finally be with my mates, and I loved feeling their lips against mine. Over the past fifteen years I had only been able to see them three times. One of the members of the counsel was a witch who would bring my mates to me when I absolutely needed them to help give me strength. Unfortunately it wasn't safe for them to come more than that as we couldn't have anyone become suspicious. It also meant that the three of us couldn't complete the mating bond, which was a shame because my mates were damn fine.

The men pushed me back into my room and helped me back into the hospital bed, I couldn't wait for the remaining wolfsbane and silver to clear my system so I could return home with them. I knew that we had to still play the role, but we had gotten good at that. Part of my role wasn't acting, I was still a little bit afraid after the horrors I had encountered, unfortunately there couldn't be any protection besides my wolf from the abuse and I was truly starved and kept in the dark. It was hard, but I knew that it was an important part of getting me to my mates and the prophecy that we had to fulfill.

"We'll go get the doctor." Nate said, squeezing my hand, while Aiden tucked the blanket around me. Their eyes glazed over and a few minutes later there was a knock at the door.

"How was your time outside?" Doctor Mark said as he entered the room.

"Delightful." I told him and he nodded before looking towards the door making sure it was closed. He lowered his voice to an almost whisper.

"Did anyone hear or see you?" He asked looking at the three of us and we shook our heads. Mark was on our side and a trusted member of the Royal Army. He had been thoroughly vetted over the years and had under gone a series of compulsions and spells to make sure he was true to our cause and not working against us.

"We were careful." Aiden said and Nate and I both nodded.

"Good, while you were out, I ran a couple of tests and the silver and wolfsbane are out of your system. Unfortunately, I have to keep you here a few more nights as not to raise too much suspicion on your strength." Mark said and I frowned. While I knew he was entirely correct it was certainly not the news I wanted. I wanted to be home with my mates.

"It's for the best, sweetheart." Aiden told me, placating me and I knew he was right, just like the doctor. Aiden and Nate both leaned down to give me a kiss before there was a knock at the door. They quickly pulled away and I closed my eyes, while Mark played with my monitors. Nate walked over to the door, opening it and a nurse stood outside with a tray of food and medicine.

"I brought you your lunch." She said, while she looked my mates up and down a hungry look in her eyes. It was all I could to do not roll my eyes at her and Amethyst wanted to growl, but we couldn't let her know how strong we were. At least not yet.

"Thank you." Nate said, taking the tray, not sparing the nurse another look. She frowned for a moment before plastering a pleasant look back on her face.

"If there's anything else you need, please let me know." She said and Nate gave her a stiff nod.

"That will be all." Doctor Mark said dismissing her, giving her a stern look and she scuttled off. "I'll speak with her." He muttered quietly to me and I nodded at him, before he took his leave.

Nate gave me my tray and him and Aiden took turns feeding me until I had my fill. The two of them ate the rest of the food, as my stomach was still recovering from being starved.

"Meredith is going to come and help you bath" Aiden said and I sighed in disappointment, I loved Meredith, we had known each other prior to my a*******n and she was one of my best friends, but I wanted it to be my mate who helped me. I knew they had to go do some work and keep up appearances but I couldn't help be a bit disappointed. Ashley and Janice had kept me from them for years, and I was a strong wolf I wanted my mates.

The next knock on the door was Meredith and I smiled as she entered, my mates both gave me another kiss before taking their leave and my friend came and hugged me.

"I missed you." She whispered in my ear and I nodded at her, it felt so good to hug her again, and I realized how much I missed contact from others while I was trapped in hell.

After we pulled apart we both glanced at the door making sure it was still closed, thankfully the room I had been put in had no windows, so no one can see it. It was easy to tell staff who weren't aware of the truth that it was because I had been blindfolded for so long and I needed dark. It was the perfect cover.

"Let's get you cleaned up." Meredith said, helping me off the bed. I was still weak and it was nice to have her help me. She helped me into the bathroom, setting me on a chair. I wanted to soak in the bath, but unfortunately the hospital only had showers, thankfully they were large. She set up a chair in the middle before turning on the shower and adjusting the temperature, she put some shampoo, conditioner and body products on the shelves. She then helped me out of my dirty nightgown and carefully took off the remaining bandages that were on my back. Once I was fully stripped down she helped me onto the chair under the warm water and it felt so nice. I closed my eyes and let the warmth encompass my body, I hadn't showered since I was seven and I sure had missed it. Meredith grabbed the shampoo and washed my hair, she had to lather it four times before it was actually deemed clean. She added some conditioner before helping me scrub the rest of my body and shaving. It took us over three hours before I was fully clean and I was so glad she was there to help me. By the time the last of the soap was rinsed off I was exhausted. Meredith helped me out and helped me dry off, before she assisted me in putting on lotion. It all might sound weird for her to help me but she would be the Queen's Beta and right hand lady. There was nothing she wouldn't do for me, much like I would do anything for her. Once I was moisturized, she helped me into a pair of sweatpants and an oversize t-shirt. The pants and shirt smelt like my mates and Meredith winked at me.

"I stole them from their room for you. I don't think they'll mind though." She said with a laugh and I grinned at her. I appreciated her even more at this moment, as their scent brought me comfort. I let out a yawn and Meredith tucked me in, before kissing my temple.

"Thank you." I told her, pulling her into a hug. I felt a tear touch my shoulder and I hugged her harder.
