Journey Of No Return

It’s been two days and Jane was nowhere to be found, Shannon had taken it lightly initially because she never expected this kind of thing to occur on the first day of their arrival in Town. She had shifted her focus from werewolves towards finding her beloved niece who was the only surviving family she had. She mobilized her team and divided into three groups as search parties for the wanted girl. The sooner she found Jane, the sooner she could get back to her main reason of being in town. She looked focus, mean and troubled. She had been suspecting James after the first day she met him and the reaction he gave off after seeing the picture of her niece. She concluded he must have known something that could tell her what happened to Jane. He traced James to his house after school and bumped into the building. Neemah and Maya were present but none reacted to her revolting attitude. They’ve heard stories about her and what she was capable of. Everyone was careful not to step on her toes.

“ I’m looking for a boy , I was told he lives here” Shannon asked as she brought out her short knife and threw it on the table before her .

“ Is he in any kind of trouble?” Maya asked as she and Neemah stopped nwhat they were doing to hear what Shannon had to say. Neemah on the other hand was quiet because she was trying to suppress her anger and rage from letting loose.

“ I think he might have the information I might need”

As she was speaking, James walked into the room . One could see the anger and rage written all over his face. He was not happy that Shannon brought men to hia house to cause trouble to his mum.

“ I already told you I don’t know anything about your niece. What else do you want me from me?” the anger could be heard from the time of his voice.

“ Oh how uncanny, I don’t remember telling you she was my niece. How do you come to know that.”

“ please you need to leave my house at once. He already told you he doesn’t know anything about what you’re looking for” Neemah finally spoke and right now her eyes were beginning to move inside and veins could be seen on her face and body as a result of the stress from suppressing her anger.

“ Or what?” Shannon moved closer to Neemah as though she wanted to go head to head with her. Shannon had a towering height and an intimidating physique. You wouldn’t know she was a woman if not for her breasts whixhnare mostly not visible. Just then one of the search parties called to inform her that they have gotten a lead. She had sent one group Danny’s house and out of freight and anxiety he had accepted to take them to where Jane was. She immediately left James house while everyone watched her walk away surprised. James who knew what was going on as he heard the phone call through his hyper hearing senses quickly called Danny to know if he was okay but couldn’t reach him.

Guess what? Shannon recognized Danny as one of the boys she had met aimed days back who denied ever knowing anything about her niece. But could he be working alone? Well, that didn’t matter at the moment, all she wanted was to be taken where they had kept her niece either dead or alive but either ways he and his accomplices were going to answer to her if anything happened to her.

“ Don’t I Know you? Aren’t you one of those boys I had seen earlier?

Danny’s blood pressure increased rapidly as he was seen dropping water from every part of his body. He was shivering in fear.

“Oh what have I gotten myself into?” he thought to himself.

“ Well, not that I care. Now, what do you know about the missing girl. Speak up before I lose my cool” Shannon said as she gestured the boys to bring Danny closer to where she stood.

“ please I know nothing, I was only trying to help to keep her safe. I met her distressed and alone so I decided to give her shelter” Danny tried as much as possible to leave our his friend and soak up whatever pressure he had coming.

Shannon looked at him for a couple of minutes , put her head down in a bid to control her temper. Not only was she mean looking, she also had anger issues.

“ Take me to where you kept her and for your sake, pray nothing happens to her.”

Danny drive to their old house and just as soon as they left, James arrived at Danny’s house. He used sensed their presence and saw Danny’s phone on the floor. One thing he never wanted was for his friend to be punished for something he knew nothing about. He had to do everything possible to make sure they do not harm his friend. He quickly dashed out towards Danny’s old house.

Jane had been resting but her rest was over when she heard the sound of cars driving into the premises, she quickly got up to check who they were. Her heart almost jumped into her stomach when she saw her big aunt. Surely this was going to be the end of her as what she’s become is seen as an abomination in her family. She was so afraid that her animal form was trying to take over her, she had to concentrate to stop it from getting over her. While she squatted, hoping she wouldn’t be seen, the door banged open like someone has kicked it with force. The emergency exits were closed and the house had only one functioning entrance.

She was breathing profusely as she hid behind the door of one of the rooms, one of the men entered the room where she was. She kept as calm as possible. The man sensed something was wrong ok the room as an experienced hunter, she stood for a while to inspect the room. As he turned to walk out, Jane attacked him and kicked away his gun. Her long canines sprouting from her mouth, her ears pointed like that of a wolf, she sprung on him and landed series of blows which knocked him out.

The others heard the noise from the struggle in the room, before they could get to where she was, she quickly dashed out and pushed the closest person against another man crashing then to the ground. The men stood up immediately and shot at her but missed as she made it outside the house. Shannon was shocked to the narrows when she saw her niece becoming the exact thing she has hated her whole life. She couldn’t being herself out of the shock to decide whether to shoot her or not but stood not knowing what to do with her gun. Because of her loss of concentration and inability to issue command to the other Hunters, Jane was able to run into the bush without being caught. She was brought out of her trauma when one of her men shouted.

“ Ma’am , what should we do?”

Normally they would have engaged fire and s**t at the wolf but because this wasn’t just any wolf but Jane, they hesitated. The men could be seen letting out their frustrations as they walked from place to place restlessly. Shannon quickly rushed Danny and held him on his neck with both hands.

“ What the f**k did you do to her, huh?”

She asked Danny as she landed series of hard kicks with her knee on his stomach. Danny bent over in pain, she hits him on the back of his neck forcing him to hit his head on the wall and fell to the ground. She then picked her gun and aimed at James but was stopped by James who came from nowhere and kicked the gun away from her hand.

“ LET HIM GO!” An angry looking James Said.

“You? What the f**k are you?” She said as she had never seen any beast like it before.

“I said , LET HIM GO”

The men had already aimed their weapons on the duo waiting for the command to shoot.

“ And what the f**k are you staring at? Shoot these motherfuckers” A provoked Shannon shouted.

James quickly went rushed Shannon and held from the back threatening to break her neck if they didn’t let him and his friend go. She hesitated and tries to resist him but he tightened his grip, his sharp canines flashing right through her neck. She refused to make the as expected but her men has to drop their guns when they saw she was losing consciousness as a result not the firm grip on her neck. James instructed Danny to move into the car while he jumped in with him before they could pick back their guns.

Shannon went crazy when she stood up and demonstrated her anger as she kicked against the car and released bullets into the air.

“ You keep running , you hear me. I’m coming for you! You can run but you can’t hide from me!” she kept shouting at the speeding vehicle. There was silence for a couple of minutes as no one wanted to be at the receiving end of her anger. Everyone waited and stood firm till she broke the silence.

“ Our strengths has always been in our unity and there’s no changing that now. We have a job to do and we’re going to do it just right. Yesterday we fought side by side but today, we’re gonna fight each other. Jane is on a journey of no return and as at today has become one of those abomination as well as our enemy. We must hunt her down. I can’t let her walk around with that thing in her. As for the boys, they’re gonna pay for what they did to my niece. I’ll make sure of that. Now, gear up, let’s move out!” A revitalized Shannon said lifting up the spirits of her men.

This is the best thing they loved about her, making tough calls and decisions when it most mattered. That is the most important attribute of a good leader, not letting her emotional ties with her niece deter her from making the right call as most of them thought. It was really unfortunate that one of them would now be hunted instead of hunting alongside them.

James knew he was in trouble, he had to look for a way to keep himself, Danny and Jane safe. Most especially now that Shannon had discovered she was a wolf. He had to go through another trouble of finding her and also a place she could be safe till she can master her abilities. The full moon was a two days out and he needed to get things ready for his beta.

Shannon was counting non the full moon for a massive hunt and m******e of the werewolves. The full moon was the best time to hunt and kill any wolf as they’re prone to make mistakes at this particular time. At this time their strengths and abilities are intensified, sometimes it wouldn’t let them think strength and overwhelm them into doing so many violent things to people and sometimes to themselves. James have had a couple not full moons and by now was already able to handle himself and contend his powers but the same could not be said about Jane who’s not able to control a single let alone a full moon when all the bones in her body would be breaking and repositioning.

The situation with Shannon made her take to drinking. How would she lose her only family to the very thing she had dedicated her life hunting. How she wished there was a way out of this. How she wished there was an antidote but there was none. Once you’re turned, your old self dies along with your humanity. You become an abomination eating the flesh of living things and drinking blood. You become violent and forget even your closest friends. Once you’re turned, you begin a journey of no return which ends on the day you die.
