The chupacabra

The murder of Dax's death had been left to remain that way without anything being said about it. Dax was the leader of the vampires but was murdered by Sean in his quest for power. Thought the vampire elders decided not go to war with Sean and his werewolves as this will bring more problems to the ones they already had. Many of the close friends were not cool with the decision of not avenging the death of their leader in the hands of a wolf which is something that has never happened before and this let to an irreparable division among them. Some of the vampires broke outbid the secret order and stayed on their own. Most of this freelance vampires began to cause problems around the country and attacked both humans and werewolves. They killed werewolves for game and humans as prey which was against the rules of the secret order. This breakout was being headed by Damon, Dax's younger brother who had returned from exile on hearing the news of his brother’s demise in the hands of the werewolves. He saw that as unacceptable and very disappointed with how everyone had decided not to do anything to avenge his brother’s death. The council elders explained that the decision was to maintain peace and unity amongst the three nations. This reason sounded so stupid to the ears of Damon and how vowed to find justice for his brother and avenge his death.

“ As long as I live , anyone who had a hand in my brother’s death will surely meet the same Faith as him. I will bring hell upon this town until I take out their hearts one after the other and feed them to the birds” Damon angrily said to the council of elders.

“We understand how you feel son, but this is not just about the vampires and werewolves alone, this will affect even the humans. I know it’s really hard to lose someone very dear to you but do not let quest for revenge do more damages that the death of your brother has done to all of us already” One of the elders said.

“ I’m highly disappointed in you all that you spill such things to me. After all he’s done for each and everyone of you, putting his life on the line that you all may have peace, this is how you repay him?. Peace is for the weak and this is what I’ve always told him but he never listened, now, see where it had led him. But I’ll make sure I make the people responsible for his death pay dearly for it.” Damon said as he walked away from the council room.

Damon was a very dangerous being feared amongst his kind and others. He was always strong-headed and was one of the reasons , enmity existed between the vampires and the werewolves in the first place. He had a werewolf girlfriend and murdered her one day in cold blood when an argument ensued between them after accusing her of having an affair with a werewolf. The girl admitted that she felt a lot safer with the werewolf guy than with him. He was embarrassed by this and had to confront the boy on a particular day when he was with the girlfriend. A fight broke out between the two of them and he killed the werewolf and his girlfriend. When the werewolves learnt what he had done, they demanded for justice that Damon be released to them but Damon had already escaped from the town. From that day onwards, the relationship between the vampires and the werewolves became sour. Dax was a peaceful man and wanted to get things fixed but it led to his death as Sean is not a person to be reasoned with when he’s made up his mind.

While Damon was away, he had acquired so many gifts and talents including a ring that helps him draw from someone’s inner strength and transfer it to himself as well as being able to walk in the day without being melted away by sunlight. He had been practicing some sorcery and dark magic which could allow him transform into a winged beast with four legs and giant fangs. He started a rebellion against the old and original beliefs and rules of the vampire code and convinced others who were fed up with the old-fashioned way of doing things to his side. He promised them power and Dominion over other creatures. He was able to make them into the giant winged chupacabra . They became an army of his own and went about sucking people’s blood dry and causing mayhem in the country.Sean felt challenged by this and decided to confront the issue and know who was behind the killing of his kind. He brought the matter to the council and there was Damon as well. They tried to attack themselves but were separated.

“ I should have known that it was this rascal that was behind all this. You had the guts to come back to this town after all you did. Didn’t Know you were this stupid and now I’m going to make you pay for what you’ve done.” Sean said with a very angry voice.

“ I came back because you murdered my brother and you will pay dearly for that. I’ve heard about the drama you’ve been showing since I left, Proclaiming yourself king. There can only be one king and that king is going to be me.” Damon said as he turned to walk away.

“well, I guess we’ll all wait and see, won’t we?” Sean said in a loud voice to make sure he was heard.

Damon had created more chupacabras since then in attempt to build an army capable of challenging Sean’s army of berserkers and werewolves. The chupacabras were ferocious blood sucking beasts just like vampires and they were ready to go to war with Damon. James was aware of the feud between Damon and Sean and hopes they could kill each other. Though he was not happy that Damon’s beasts were attacking innocent people and feeding on their flesh and blood. He had on several occasions fought with these beasts when two of them attacked students who came for a night reading class. He fought and killed one of them while the other one escaped after being badly injured.

While Damon was preparing for war, Sean was also busy creating more berserkers and fortifying his berserkers, enhancing their strength and abilities. After some days , Damon felt he was ready and attacked Sean in his residence. A huge fight broke out between the two species, Damon had come with vampires and chupacabras while Sean had his werewolves and berserkers. The chupacabras were flying beast and attacked from the air Making it difficult for them to be caught or hit by the berserkers. When Sean saw he had lost so much men compared to what he’s taken down, he resorted to bows and arrows. The berserkers were very good with the bow and arrows and this gave them a hug advantage over the flying beast. They shot down the chupacabras with their spelled arrows and each berserker turned to dust on being hit by the arrows. Damon was doing very well at his end as he tore each werewolf that came before him limb to limb almost flawless without being hit. He didn’t realize he’s lost almost all his men and was running out of strength. The vampires were easy kill for the berserkers as they destroyed them with one strike of their daggers or claws.

“ What now Damon, you're down to almost one man to four of mine. Still think you can win this fight?” Sean said to Damon as he tried to mock him.

“I tell you what, let’s go man-to-man, me and you both. The winner takes everything!” Damon said.

“ Thought you’ll never ask” Sean said almost like he was waiting for him to say that.

They challenged each other, Sean turned into a full giant wolf while Damon turned into a berserker. They landed strikes at each other and were almost equal in strength but Sean was not just a mere wolf as he had charms to his advantage. He bit Damon on the neck and couldn’t let go despite the blows and kicks Damon was giving to him. Damon was able to get him off but by this time, he was already weak. His men tried to intervene but he stopped them, he came at Sean again and this time got him pretty bad on the forelimb. He landed another dangerous hit on Sean’s stomach and he fell to the ground. Sean casted a spell on Damon and hypnotized him when he saw that Damon was going to overpower and eventually kill him. As demon stood battling with the seizure, Sean pounced on him and ripped out his heart. Damon went pale and fell to the ground. The chupacabras and the remaining vampires pledged knelt down and pledged their allegiance to Sean according to what was initially agreed as Sean growled loudly to signal his victory.
