" Miss. Rivers, where is the King? " The bloodied man at the door asked. Geneva stepped aside so he could enter. Shaye was on high alert as the bloodied mam walked in. " King, they are attacking the men. " The man rasped. " Who? " " The red wolves!" The man shouted. Shaye tried to get up but again fell on the bed. " Don't try to get up. I'll get Devon. " Geneva said, and rushed outside. She knocked on all the doors, to alert everyone. She didn't know who the red wolves were but the look that Shaye had on his face, alarmed her to the greatest. She knocked on silver, black, grey, white, blue doors. When she knocked on the bronze door, Devon opened it up, yawning. "There were. " She said. " Attacks. The bloodied man said something about red wolves. " Sleep was wiped out of Devon's face, and he looked at Geneva with wide eyes. Everyone rushed out of their rooms. The knocks shook them to their cores. They hurried, and asked each other what happened. But everyone just shrugged. No one knew. Devon raced through the crowd, shouting, " Everyone go to the underground rooms. Now! Now!! " The people rushed to where Devon said. Geneva didn't know what to do. Her gaze drifted through the crowd, rushing towards the opposite direction, down the stairs, and they were disappearin to somewhere. Kennedy rushed out of a room with a bag, and she shouted to Geneva. " Geneva!! You're here. When did you-" " Oh forget it. Come with me. We need to go. " Kennedy added, and pulled Geneva with her. " Where are we going? " Geneva asked. " I'll tell you later. Let's just hurry right now. " Kennedy said. Geneva'a eyes searched for Shaye and Devon. Who will take care of them? She spotted Giselle ordering the servants around. Kennedy pulled Geneva down the stairs, and into the right wall. " There is a wall! " Geneva shouted, trying to wiggle out of her hold. " It's a illusion. Trust me. " Kennedy shouted. Everyone was disappearing through the wall. Kennedy told her to trust. How can she trust? When the people who raised her, betrayed her. The parents who pretended to love her. The brother who pretended that he was sorry. Just because they can sell her off to a wealthy man for money. Geneva's fists clenched, and she didn't even realize when she passed through the wall, that trembled as they passed through. Geneva let Kennedy pull her because she didn't know where she was or where she was going, and she couldn't even see. Her barefoot stepped on dusty floor, she imagined it to be floor made of bricks. At least it felt like it. Her hands reached up to trace the wall. The walls were warm. There were people behind them, and in front of them. It seemed like a tunnel to her. A tunnel which had a end that she dreaded to find. She tried to yank at Kennedy's hold but the maid was strong. " Stop it, Geneva. We need to hurry. And I need to get you to safety. " Kennedy hissed " Where are we going? " Geneva asked, squinting through the darkness. " It's a safe place. I promise. " Promise. Promise. These words were so strong but they weren't unbreakable. Like Shaye. Geneva's mind wandered off to the wolf king. He was still weak from the wound he got for Geneva's sake. They turned left, and at last Geneva let out the breath that she was holding. The torces on the wall were lit. Someone was lighting them up. One after one, all the torches lit up, and Geneva could see clearly what laid in front of her. The path was long. Full of turns, spiders, webs. " These paths haven't been used for long. " Geneva wrinkled her nose at the dust and the smell of a dampened closed room. They stopped, and everyone stood in a line. " What's happening? " Geneva asked Kennedy. " Nothing. The path is narrow. So, we have to line up. " Kennedy answered, shrugging with a shoulder. Geneva nodded slowly, and tried to peek. She tiptoed, and tried to see but the people were so tall. Taller than Geneva. Much much taller. So, she waited. The line in front of her was ending, and she was more than happy. " come on. come on. " Geneva kept murmurring, and bitting her inner cheek with anticipation. She just wanted to know what was in front of her. What trap, what path? Anything. Geneva was shaking her hands, and stratching her neck when the line was shorter than before. Only four people were in front of them. But Geneva still couldn't see what was going on. Where the people were going. She cursed their heights under her breath but surely Kennedy heard, and giggled hoarsely. But then it went fast. The four became three, then two, one, and then it was Kennedy's turn, and Geneva could actually see what was in front of her. A hole. A giant dark hole. She froze. Was trusting Kennedy wrong? Her nerves started to freeze, her head started to ache, and the pace of pumping of blood in her veins was slowing down. Her dizziness was back. " Geneva? " Kennedy shook her by her shoulders. Geneva came out of the short hyperventilation and looked at Kennedy's pale blue grey eyes. " It's fine, okay? I'm going to jump first, and you're going to follow me. " Kennedy looked into her eyes, her soul. " Miss, you have to hurry up. " The man standing beside the hole said. Kennedy glared at the man, and gritted out. " Can't you see that my friend is afraid?" Friend. Friend. Friend. Kennedy was Geneva's friend. But can she trust her? Kennedy turned to Geneva, and said, " I'll be waiting for you. " Then she turned, and jumped, not a si gle scream came out of her mouth. Geneva's hands started to shake. She could do this. She could trust her friend. She is brave enough. And Shaye is there. No one can hurt her if Shaye gets to know. She will be rescued. However long it takes. Or even her body rots, and is eaten by the spiders. Geneva shook her head violently and patted her cheeks. " Miss, there are people who needs to be rescued. If you don't want to go, you can stand beside me and watch. Then, I'll take you with me. " The man offered. Geneva looked into his eyes. She has to trust Kennedy. She can not trust a stranger. Not at all. Geneva shut her eyes tightly, and she jumped. Air rushed through her ears, her dress flew as the wind rushed. She held the sides of her dress as she screamed loudly. She feared that even the red wolves heard her scream but the scream wasn't just stopping. She looked at the end of the hole. There was a big soft quilt lying on the ground. She would fall on a soft quilt. Geneva scrambled in the air so that when she hit the quilt, her back would touch the quilt. She closed her eyes again, and resumed her scream. She tucked her dress with her hands. And finally, Geneva hit the quilt with a thump, and she wasn't hurt. Not even little bit. " You did it! " Kennedy shouted, and walked to her, a grin plastered on her place. Geneva hurried to get away from the quilt because there were still so many people to jump, and she was feeling dizzy again. She needed to get away. She let Kennedy pull her out of there. Her eyes couldn't focus on one object. It scanned the area like a hawk. The quilt was laid in a huge Hall. Everything was in grey and white. The blue quilt fit perfectly with the two colours. There were no windows. Kennedy was still pulling her away. There were so many people. Devastation, sleepiness, shakiness, anxiousness. The people had so many emotions they couldn't control. Then Kennedy turned. Geneva's eyes took in the huge corriodor. There were several rooms with blue coloured doors. All of the doors were blue coloured. Kennedy kept on walking. She only stopped, when she saw Giselle, standing in front of a door. It must be theirs. But how did Giselle come there so fast? She was ordering the servants, when Geneva last saw her. And now she was in front of a blue door with metallic knob, locks, and hinges. Kennedy rushed towards the room, and waiting Giselle. Giselle opened the door, and let them in. Kennedy exhaled when they were in the room. Giselle shut the door, and Geneva heard her retreating footsteps. Did she lock them? Geneva tried to open the door. And it did open. Without any effort. People were rushing to the rooms. " What are you doing? Close the door. " Kennedy shouted, and shitthe door herself. She took out a huge lock from a wooden drawer, and put the lock on the door. When she was done, she looked back at Geneva, who was slightlt shaken by all the outbursts. Kennedy sighed as her shoulders slumped. " You need to sit down to listen to the whole story. " She said. Geneva flopped on the grey bed, and stared at Kennedy with a questioning look. Kennedy walked to the bed, and sat beside Geneva. " Long ago, there were two brothers-" There were knocks on the door. Kennedy looked at Geneva to ask if she should open the door. " Geneva, are you there? " The girls heard the familiar voice. Kennedy didn't fully feel safe but Geneva did. The person on the other side of the door would never hurt her. Right?
