I finally made my way outside to find Eli and Lilly.  

What could she possibly know? There is no way Rowan could have told her. He wouldn't have. 

"If he wanted to sabotage your relationship with Eli he could have. It's obvious to anyone with eyes that she has it out for your title, and your spot." 

That is the thing. If I'm feeling the mate bond with both of them how do I know that I am meant to be Luna? 

 "Al!" Eli yelled from the very same playground that Lilly almost got abducted from. I gulp down my feeling of unease and slowly made my way to them. Eli was pushing Lilly on a swing and motioned for me to sit in the one beside her. I took my time and was grateful that he held the swing steady for me. Lilly was giggling and screaming up a storm from how high she was going. Luckily Eli pushed me to where I was just barely swinging. It wasn't cold or hot outside, but just right. The birds were chirping even though the sun would be setting soon. The wind picked up its pace, and for once in a long time, I was at peace. I Iooked behind me to see Eli smiling down and wondered where the snarky asshole had first met went.

"Do you still smoke?" I hadn't seen him smoke since the second night after I had met him.

"No." He had a hint of a smile in his voice.

"Why?" I looked up at him as he stood above me. He leaned to where our noses were almost touching. 

"Cardio." A wicked grin played across his lips. His breath was mixing with mine making my heart rate increase. I was confused at first but then I remembered what was said in the old library bar back in the colonies.

"So you're worried about my cardio? That is a little forward don't you think kid?"  His snarky voice flowed through my ears from my memories. 

"You don't call me kid anymore." I whispered, my lips grazing his.

"I can if you'd like little one." His eyes blazing with lust. I raised my head to where our lips were touching. He deepened the kiss making me tighten my arms around his neck. Then I remembered. Rowan's hands on my hips, his lips on mine. I hesitated.

"Are you okay?" Eli backed away putting a little space between us.

"Yeah, I just wish you would have told me you were leaving. It was weird here without you. Not to mention the girl who tried to sabotage the evaluation really put me on edge." I didn't completely lie, but I couldn't tell him the truth. Not when he got jealous over my heart rate increasing around Rowan. He went silent before bringing his lips to my ear.

"We cleared your name." His warm breath brushed past me, stealing the air from my lungs and sending a shiver down my spine. 

"What? Really! How?" I was overcome with excitement. This meant that if Lilly ever wanted to go back to the Colonies we could. Eli didn't look as thrilled as I felt. I was about to ask him what was wrong when Lilly jumped from her swing. She landed hard, and face first. I shook my head at her and slowly made my way off the swing. I made sure not to make a big fuss about her falling when I kneeled down to her level.

"Let me see. Let me see." I lowered my tone to an almost melodic one. It reminded me a lot of Selene's. Between sobs, she showed me her scratched-up hands. I wiped them off and made kissy noises on them. Quickly I start making kissy noises and blowing raspberry's into her neck and on her stomach.

"See? All better." Soon she stopped crying and sniffled before giggling and getting snot everywhere. I wiped her face before letting her get back to the playground.

"You know you're really good with her." Eli helped me stand.

"I have to be. She doesn't have anyone else. Not after-" It was in that moment I realized something. Lilly hasn't once asked for her Mommy or Daddy. She hasn't had a nightmare from watching them be torn apart in front of her or acted out of the ordinary. Is she in shock? I turned to ask Eli but he was already helping her go down the slide. I decided to just watch her and ask him what he thought later. 

After the sun had set Lilly was finally tuckered out and nearly passed out on Eli's back as we walked back to our room. 

"You know," he whispered carefully not to wake her, "Since the pack knows we're mates you could move to the top floor with me." He laid her gently in her bed.

"Oh really? We haven't even made an official announcement or anything." I tried to play it cool. 

"Yeah, but we can arrange that soon. It's already been hell having you so far away from me." He wrapped an arm around my waist and pulled me in close. My body reacting to his, a warmth spread through me. As if a missing piece was finally put back and I could function normally again. I brought my lips to his and tenderly kissed him. I savored every moment like it could be the last. Soon his large frame engulfed mine as he leaned into me deepening the kiss.  Selene purred, I could tell she was feeling more energetic with Fin near. I was overwhelmed with a rush of energy and backed Eli onto the couch, pushing him down as I climbed on top. His eyes were wide in surprise.

"Are you okay your wounds-" I silenced him with my tongue on his. I craved him and he had been apart from me for far too long. His hand slid up my stomach and cupped my breast under my mesh bra while his other wandered and gripped my ass. It was mostly exposed due to the tiny jogger shorts that had started to ride up from me straddling him. I tried to take his shirt off but couldn't do it quick enough. For a split moment, Selene was strong enough to break through and take over. I ripped his shirt in two, tired of waiting to press my skin against his.

"Wait your eyes." He whispered while gently bringing a hand to cup my cheek. I didn't say anything as I slowly took his hand from my face and placed it on my throbbing n****e that was poking through my mesh bra and t-shirt and sighed with relief as he started massaging it. 

"Closer." I whispered, but the melodic tone of my voice was the same pitch as Selene's again. A hint of gold flashed in in Eli's normally electric blue eyes.

"Fin."  Selene gasped excitedly. Eli sat up closing the gap between our chests and had a new roughness about him. His movements were hungry, and I wanted to be devoured by him. His kisses were rougher and more fast-paced as our mouths fought for dominance. He let out a low growl as I started to rock back and forth on his now throbbing member that was dying to break out of his shorts. My body resonated as his voice flowed through me. My juices started to flow as I craved more. Suddenly he wrapped his arms around me and flipped us smoothly, making me giggle. He paused, looming over me.

He painstakingly took his time as he looked me over. Once his eyes finally traveled back up to mine they were a shimmery gold.  I stopped pushing Selene back and let her take as much control that she could in her current state. My entire body felt tingly, and prickly like little needles were prickling my skin. The same as the first night when Selene took over. Selene grabbed Fin's head and brought our lips together again, our teeth hitting for a moment as they scrambled for one another. Our bodies intertwining, but soon Fin's hand found its way into my shorts. Selene spread my legs to give him access, but that wasn't enough for him. He quickly removed my shorts and I mentally cussed wishing I would have worn something cuter than a black thong. The animalistic need left Fin as he tenderly kissed the insides of my thighs. Without warning, he slipped a single finger inside me and slowly started to move it back and forth, teasing me while also flicking his tongue on my precious bean. "But what about you?" I asked feeling embarrassed that I just so openly expressed my want for him and basically let Selene do whatever she wanted.

"Love, all I care about is making you feel good. Maybe in the future when you fully awaken we can do more." I realized my legs were still shaking.

"It's not fair to you." He cut me off, but I still didn't understand what he meant by "fair." It seemed completely unfair that he just gave me one of the best orgasms of my life and I couldn't return the favor. He smiled and kneeled beside me. 

"I mean if I were to mark you-"

"Mark me?" It was my turn to cut him off. "What do you mean?" 

"Marking is a form where we consummate the Mate bond and I bestow my mark here-" he pointed to the crook in my neck, "and you do the same to me."

"Okay but what exactly does that do?" 

"I guess you could say it sets the mate bond in stone. Until you are marked you will go into heat once a year on your birthday, and you will have the ability to reject your mate." He said the last part with reservation as if he was scared to tell me. I remember Nia mentioning 'rejecting' your mate.

"You know that just caused me to have more questions, right?" He pinched the bridge of his nose and shook his head.

"You get cleaned up and I'll meet you in the bedroom okay? I need a cold shower." I made an "o" shape with my mouth before moving to go to the bedroom.

 He spent a good hour in the shower and I had almost fallen asleep before I heard the bathroom door finally click open. He walked out of the bathroom with nothing but a towel wrapped around him. My face flushed remembering how good he felt through his clothes and wondered how much better it would be now.

"Anyways-" I tried to get my mind out of the gutter. "Back to what marking is, and I know dogs and other animals go into heat, but what is heat for a werewolf?" I gulped hoping it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. He sat back on the headboard of the bed, looking as comfortable as ever and letting his muscular stomach peak out from the split in his towel.  

"Well, let's start off with heat. It's basically like your normal mensuration except everything is heightened, along with all of the wolves around you being somewhat aware of it. The feel a small tug towards you.  You send off hormones that alert the wolves wolf around you that is unmarked and of age that you are at your most fertile. It's a primal instinct that brings us to mate, or attempt to find our mates."

"Oh great, it's like a giant horny flag. Good to know. Next." I was getting annoyed. How many more issues will I have simply because I'll be an awakened werewolf? 

"The marking process is like I described, but until you're marked you'll go through heat once a year. And until you mark your mate you have the power to reject them." The room fell uncomfortably silent.
