How It Began
The branches brushed my cheek as I ran through the woods. Every breath I took burned my lungs my legs burning as I tried to get away from them, my pack.
This was a game to them, they're the predators and I'm the prey, if I didn't get away fast them they'll punish me for being weak again.
Running through the thick woods I could almost see the pack house, I was so close a flicker of hope sparked in my chest before my face hit the earth. A hot liquid dripped down my chin, my blood, claws were wrapped around my throat immediately followed by a sickening growl and laugh.
"You almost got away little mundane, if only you could run faster I wouldn't have to punish you now," the voice above me whispered, my blood runned cold a I recognized the voice above me, there was a time that I used to love that voice. Tristan my former lover.
The next Alpha of our pack was pinning me down with his claws wrapped around my throat growling at me a, warning to stay still.
"Please..." I whimpered, fear paralyzed my body making me unable to speak or move.
"Quiet! You know the rules Lex, if you can't keep up, you get whipped." Tristan said with low voice.
I whimpered as he hauled me up, yanking me by the arm his claws drawing blood before dragging me to the pack house.
My sister stood in the middle of the court yard, her eyes shining a brilliant gold while her mouth curled in a wicked smile. Tristan growled low, excited to see his mate. The reason why he treated me so badly.
"Really? Still can't keep up? Pathetic!" my sister growled at me, raising a perfectly trimmed eyebrow at the sight of me, I had blood running down my arm and mud all over my body from being pinned down, my hair was a mess and my clothes torn from running through the woods.
My sister sneered at me before walking towards her mate the two of them kissing deeply, letting out uncomfortable mouns while grouping each other. They really didn't have any boundaries.
I felt embarrassed to know I used to love this man, but the moon Goddes seemed to like torturing me.
Suddenly Tristan's eyes shot back to me, he dragged me to the large oak pole behind the pack house tying my hands above my head. My cheek pressed against the pole, the cold hard wood felt familiar against my skin and yet so strange.
I could hear the rest of the pack gathering around us even without any super hearing.
The pain came fast and sharp, twenty lashes, that was my punishment for being weak, for not being able to shift to my wolf form. I tried keeping my screams in, just letting a whimper out by the tenth lash, blood started dripping down my back.
My body tensed waiting for the next lash but it never came, silence filled the courtyard. I lifted my head trying to see what made everyone so quiet.
It was our Alpha, Tristans dad.
He stood tall power radiated from his form, but there was something else as well. Fear, for what I didn't know.
"The Lycan King wil be joining us tomorrow. Please be prepared," the Alpha announced, his eyes scanning every wolf before landing on me, I could see pitty in them, the Lycan king did not like wolves like me that were unable to shift.
This was going to be a nightmare of a week for me.
