Kierras POV
After making sure Sierra and Sarah were going to be safe in the medical hall I made my way to the dungeon. Mary was already working on a potion taking notes on how Max, Dillon, and Lyla were acting and reacting to different things.
"Hows it going?" I asked her.
"Really well. Better than I expected actually Lisa obviously made this potion in a hurry. I don't think she expected all the girls to get together so quickly. Plus she had to travel the same way the girls did so that cut into her time as well." Mary explained.
"When do you think you'll be done?" I asked.
"By morning they'll be back to their normal selves." Mary said.
"Okay well I'm going to go try to get some sleep I'll be back in the morning to retrieve them." I told her before leaving.
Mary nodded and continued her work. I went and rested for as long as I could. Morning came early and I felt like I had barley slept. Me and dad had slept by ourselves and it was weird not being surrounded. Mermaid's were meant to be together not spread out like this. But it was safer for mom and my sisters to be in the medical hall surrounded by guards. Liam would be there leading the guards to ensure their safety.
I made my way slowly to the dungeon to find that Max and Dillon had been released but Lyla was arguing with Mary. "What do you mean I was under a spell?" Lyla yelled.
"I know what she made you see and feel feels real but it's fake your love for Max is one sided dear," Mary was trying to tell her but Lyla wasn't listening.
"You love me don't you?!" Lyla yelled accusingly at Max. "We were together and you love me!" she was now demanding.
"I'm sorry Lyla but I have only ever loved Sarah." Max told Lyla.
Lyla looked hurt but understanding was starting to cross her face. "It was all fake then, the secret meetings us being in love none of it is real?" She asked looking at Max.
"I'm sorry but it is true that none of that happened." he told her and he really did look sorry.
"Kierra!" A voice I knew all to well interrupted the moment.
"Char?" I asked while turning around and sure enough their he was. I grabbed him kissing h quickly before asking him what he was doing here?
"I convinced Lisa to let me come along to scout then got "caught" the attack will happen soon especially with Lisa thinking I've been captured we have to hurry." Char told me.
With that I sent Marry to help Sierra and Sarah while bringing everyone else with me. Explaining to Lyla along the way what was going on. We made it to the outer mountain along with my dad and his army just in time. Lisa leading the full artic ocean army came into view.
Lyla moved in front of everyone. "I am your Chieftess Lyla and I order you to stand down!" Some of the army looked confused while others completely ignored her.
"Oh Lyla your no longer their Chieftess in fact you should be dead let me go ahead and fix that!" Lisa yelled. A red wave of power came at Lyla and without thinking I blocked it with a green wave of power. I had never used this before but it felt important.
"Dillon, Max get her out of here!" I yelled. As soon as they grabbed her Lisa yelled for her army to attack. My dad yelled for our army to fight as well and the whole world seemed to move into slow motion as we were thrown into a war zone.
Char and I were back to back fighting like we had back at the cave. I could no longer see Dillon, Max, or Lyla and could only hope that they had gotten out in time. I didn't have time to worry about it though as one soldier after another fell from my or Chars sword.
Looking through the crowd I seen my dad fighting alone forcing his way to Lisa. I sent a silent prayer to Poseidon for his safety and began only worrying about fighting the merman in front of me.
Sierras POV
In the morning mom took more blood from me and Sarah and was about to start distributing it when we heard the war horn. We quickly started preparations for soldiers who'd be sure to come to be taken care of. As soon as we got to room settled Max, Dillon, and Lyla came they all looked as if they had been burned a little not bad but enough to make you worry.
"What happened?" I asked poking myself with my sword to get a drop of blood smearing it on the burns one at a time.
"Lisa used some power Kierra blocked most of it but what made it through is what caused the burns. Lyla got the worst of it Lisa was trying to kill her." Dillon told me.
There wounds were already healed and Sarah and Max were off talking when I turned to Lyla. "Do you have any medical training?" I asked her. Lyla shook her head no and I could see that she was obviously still in shock so I took her to a bed and had her lay down. "It's okay just rest here we will protect you," I told her.
As soon as she fell asleep the room became chaos. As soldiers were brought in we were healing them and sending them back out they'd tell us about what was going on outside to. Mitch had made it to Lisa and she used her powers to just kind of poof. No one had seen her since but the army's were still fighting.
Kierra and Mitch had already pushed the artic army back enough to keep them away from the town. So no civilians were going to be hurt but the civilians near the war zone had given up their homes to the military and were moving to the palace till the war was over.
When night fell the Artic army retreated but we knew it wasn't over. We spent the night healing as many as we could and sending them back out before we absolutely couldn't do anymore. Dillon had actually came and forced me to stop telling me wearing myself wouldn't help when they'd need my help tomorrow too.
I was glad I had him back beside me but I could feel Kierras loneliness through the connection. She missed us all being together. Unfortunately as soon as morning hit the sounds of war could be heard again. A few soldiers from the Artic army were captured and Dillon and Max went to help the interrogators while we were busy healing soldiers.
I heard how Kierra and Char were amazing fighting back to back. All of the soldiers seemed amazed by Kierra and Chars skills and felt proud to be part of their army. When Dillon and Max came back it was already half way through the day. They forced me and Sarah to take a break and get something to eat.
"Starving yourselves won't help anyone." Max said. Sarah looked at him and said no kidding before sticking her tongue out at him.
As we began eating Dillon started explaining what he had found out. "So apparently Lisa leaving was part of the plan. The Artic army are to fight until they can't fight anymore which may take a week at this rate. By then Lisa will be long gone. It wasn't her original plan but a back up plan. She must have figured she's going to lose so she left all these people to die. We already sent a soldier back to tell the captains of the Artic army that they are fighting a losing battle and to give up."
"Do you think they'll stop?" I asked Dillon.
"Probably not it's safe to assume most of the captains are under Lisa's control and already know they are being used so she can escape but we figure some captains will surrender and it may tip the scale." Max said.
"That makes sense." Sarah said. She had been so close to Max since he came back that you'd think they were linked at the hip. Even now she was practically sitting on top of him. I guess him leaving with Dillon made her super clingy.
When we went back to the medical hall we noticed artic soldiers being treated. I went and found my mom who had explained that half the army that was left had surrender. They were waiting for the soldiers in the medical hall were captains waiting for Lyla to wake up do they could swear their loyalty to her.
It seemed that Dillon and Max's idea had worked and faster than they had expected. When Lyla woke the captains did swear their loyalty to her. She left with them to help finish off the rest of the army that was still fighting. Less and less injured soldiers came in the rest of the day.
Kierras POV
I don't know what Max and Dillon did it was something discussed with my dad but soon enough half the artic army was surrendering to us. I didn't have time to question it we were still under attack. So while my dad went to handle that me and Char continued to fight.
It was obvious at this point that Lisa had escaped and that we were being distracted by the army while she got away. We fought the now half sized army pushing them further away from us until they were no longer in the Bermuda Triangle clan territory at all. We didn't stop fighting though I yelled for the Captains to hold their ground and make sure that the artic army couldn't push their way back in.
As the night started falling I noticed that the artic army started retracting again. I order half the army to stay and guard the perimeter while the rest of us went back to the city. It was then that I found out about half the Artic army sweating loyalty to Lyla and that Lyla was ordering them to join the war against Lisa army.
This would definitely tip the scale and our favor and there was no way that Lisa's army would hold up after tomorrow. Char, dad, and me didn't waste anytime going to bed. Tomorrow this war would be over but we were exhausted and needed our rest.
It took three hours to surrounded and force Lisa's army go give up. We took one soldier after another and ordered them to surrender or die. Sadly only ten soldiers surrender the rest chose to die before betraying Lisa and it cost them their lives. Hundreds of bodies littered the war zone both our and theirs. Though when we did a roll call we found only a hundred of our own had died.
Despite who's side they were on all the bodies were gathered up and our citizens spent the rest of the day burying them. Our soldiers would have a big funeral service that dad was planning for tomorrow. I was sent to the medical hall to help heal those who were still injured and Lyla stayed with my dad saying she would be off after the funeral service tomorrow. There was a lot to plan for and very little time.
By the time we were done healing all that we could and had gotten all the arrangements done. The scouts that had went to try to find Lisa's trail had returned. Unfortunately they lost the trail about fifty miles from the wall. Lisa was out and about again and we had no clue where.
Right now though all we cared about was the fact that we were currently safe. The war had been won. We were finally together again. I didn't waste a minute hugging my siblings them my parents before saying that we were never allowed to be apart again. Everyone agreed and the night was spent with smiles. As we celebrated our small victory. Another plan of Lisa's foiled.
