The Truth

Blaise: I studied her face watching her reaction to the wolves changing around her. When I sensed the transformations I had became tense and worried. But the more I watched her I realized it was exactly the opposite. The look she had on her face was one of curiosity,  and amazement. Maybe even adoration.  This woman surprised me more and more. How strong and brave she was. I couldn't believe it. It took all I had to keep my wolf at bay. My wolf so badly wanted to mark her as my mate before the blood moon in 2 weeks. With all the transformations going on around us, it was even harder to keep him at bay. He wanted free, he wanted to run, and he wanted to be physical with his mate.  Suddenly Blythe's body began to tremble. I realized it was her wolf. She wanted out. Blythe doubled over in pain. The concoction was preventing her from changing, which in turn was making it painful to her. Very painful. I picked Blythe up and ran with her. We ran through the woods at full speed until we made it to my car. I stuck her in the back seat and I got Into the driver's side. I went as fast as I could back to my den. I didn't know what this concoction was going to do to her or how long this pain was going to last. I became angry. I knew that certain wolves had started the changing on purpose. Knowing good and well Blythe wasn't in tune with her wolf or letting her out. "It hurts." Blythe groaned from the back seat. "It's okay baby, I'm taking you to a dr." I reassured her. I glanced in the rear view mirror at her. Her blue eyes were shining. It was her wolf. She was doubled over in pain. My wolf whined on the inside from seeing his mate like this.  After what seemed like the longest ride of my life we arrived back at my den. I scooped up Blythe from the back seat and ran in the door. My mom was standing in the pack area sweeping. Call the doctor. I said more sternly than I should. She nodded her head, as I took Blythe up the staircase to my master suite. I lay her upon my huge bed and covered her up. She was sweating, I felt her forehead with my lips. She was burning up. I ran and grabbed a cold rag and placed it upon her head. She moaned unconscious from the pain. Finally there was a knock on the suite door. I quickly opened it ushering the doctor in. "What's going on Alpha?" Dr. Rosara asked as he went to her side. Dr. Edith Rosara had been the pack doctor for as long as I could remember.  Her pack had abandoned her and my father had found her Injured and malnourished in the forest. He had taken her in, and to repay him she had since that day treated every wolf in the oack. "She has been taking something to prevent her wolf from coming out for God knows how long, to be honest she has probably never changed." I told her. She shook her head. She listened to Blythes chest with a stethoscope, she picked up her wrist listening to her pulse. I grew more and more impatient.  "Alpha please be patient, I've got a lot to do to find out how to reverse this. She has to change. Before this pain will subside she will have to change. She is stuck in the changing process, and her wolf refuses to back down this time." She explained. "What do we do?" I pleaded. "I need a blood sample to find out what we are dealing with. I have to know what she has been taking."   I helped her get the things she needed from her bag. I held Blythe's hand as the doctor extracted her blood. Her blood came out weird with gray streaks through it. "I know exactly what this is." Dr. Rosara shook her head. "Wolves Bane" she stated. Notice the green in the blood." She shook the vial. I nodded. "She has been taking this since she hit puberty." She informed me. "Get my bag Alpha, we have to reverse the affects." She orderd. I did as she asked and handed her bag to her. She pulled out a vial of clear liquid and a needle. "What is that?" I asked. I wanted to know what it was before anything was given to Blythe. "Think of this as a wolf's narcan." She explained. "This will immediately reverse the effects and she will be able to complete the change. You may want to wait on the front porch. This could get violent." She told me . "Absolutely not. " I roared. I refused to leave her side.  As soon as the Dr Rosara administered the medication Blythe went still. Suddenly her eyes flew open. They shined like a white light with blue in the middle. I had never seen a wolf with white eyes before, and doctor Rosara must have not either because she looked at my and gave me a what the hell expression.  Blythe was changing, and my wolf was going wild. I was unable to contain my wolf any longer. He took over and I changed along with Blythe. I looked at her beautiful mocha silky fur. She was absolutely stunning. She looked at me worried and scared. My wolf whimpered. In our wolf form we were able to communicate using our minds.  "Blythe baby its okay!" I reassured her. "I'm afraid I'll hurt someone." She whimpered. Her father must have put that in her head. "Baby we never hurt humans or anyone else. We have control over what we do. " I explained. "Come with me Blythe." I turned and walked out the door and down the stairs as she followed. I walked through the back door and out Into the woods that surrounded the property. "Run with me baby!" I laughed and took off with her on my heels. I could hear her laughing as she quickly caught up to me.  Blythe and I ran until dawn. We finally made it back to her place. After we changed back we went Inside her house. We both put on a bathrobe to cover ourselves and we snuggled into her bed. We were exhausted. "I have so many questions." She whispered. "I'll answer them all after you get some rest. " I reassured her. It wasn't long before I heard her breathing even out and become shallow. I followed shortly after with my hand over her heart. Things were falling into place.  It was to easy.  I felt the approaching storm and it made the hairs on my arm stand up.  The next morning Blythe and I sat at her kitchen table. I was prepared to answer any questions she had. She handed me a cup of coffee and sat across from me. "Okay shoot " I told her. She smiled at me. "My father told me that shapeshifters turned into awful looking wolf creatures who killed anything and everything  in their path." She admitted. "Absolutely not." I told her. "We eat as humans,  we never kill anything in our wolf form." I explained. "How did we become shapeshifters. " she asked. "Well genetics for us, but noone truly knows how we got the gift. Stories go back to caveman times depicted in cave drawing. The story is that we were given the gift by the gods to protect our people." I Informed her. "The connection we share, does that have something to do with us being shapeshifters?" She blushed. "It does." I admitted. "Every shapeshifter is born destined to find their mate. Once they do they instantly imprint on one another. The Male then Mark's the female by a gently bite to her shoulder which will warn off any other males." I explained. "Oh wow. So we imprinted?" She asked. "We imprinted the moment you opened the front door." I told her. "Have you marked me? she whispered. "I would never mark you without your knowledge." I told her,  To which she smiled. "Do we belong to a pack " she asked, which was the question I had been dreading because to be truthful about everything I had to inform her of Elana, her mother. "We do! I am actually the Alpha of our pack and my brother is the beta." I watched as her eyes grew wide. "You are now my Luna, which is the head female of the pack. The one who is with the Alpha. You will lead the females of the pack. " I explained. "Their are several clans or families to our pack." I continued. "You must be born into our pack to be accepted. Your mother is apart of our pack Blythe!" I heard her suck in a big gulp of air as I admitted this to her. "Elana is your mother." I whispered. I watched as a year rolled down her cheek. "Elana came back here 10 years ago. She had abandoned the pack to marry your father. We didn't just take her back, she had to work for it, prove her loyalty. My father was very hard on her. " I explained. "The oack was furious when she had told us that she left her pup with the father. This pup was apart of our oack and with us was where she belonged. Because of our oath to never hurt humans their wasn't much we could do about the situation, because of your fathers position in the community.  So we waited.  Your mother told us she had set it up so that you would find your way here. Alfred informed us to expect you. We readied the house for you. Elana worked very hard to make it perfect for you." I explained. "Does Elana want to be apart of my life?" She stammered.  "She does!" I told her as I took her hand. Tears started flowing down her face. My wolf whimpered. "There is one more thing I must inform you of." I informed her. "There is a blood moon in two weeks  As the new alpha of the pack since my father died almost a year ago, I must mark my mate by the blood moon or else another clan in the pack  can choose an Alpha." I dropped my head. I hated putting so much on her. She smiled through the tears that streaked her face. "That's probably the easiest thing you've told me so far." She laughed. "I love you Blaise, and I want to spend the rest of my life with you." She admitted. My wolf was howling with happiness.  I had to control him quickly before he tried to come out. I got up and went over to Blythe's  chair. I looked down at her and got down on my knee, "Blythe you are my sole mate, and I am your protector. I love you more than words can ever describe. I would give my life for your happiness. I have waited my whole life for you, and loved you before I ever knew you. Blythe please tell me that you will marry me?" I looked hopefully Into her beautiful sparkling eyes. Tears streamed down her face. "Yes I'll marry you!" She sobbed. I couldn't contain myself. I crushed my lips against hers. I gave her all of me in that kiss. I picked her up from the chair never removing my lips from hers, and made my way toward the bedroom.
