The timer rings on my phone and I reluctantly take a step back. It is so hard to let Raya go, even for a moment, but this time it’s for a good cause, and we both look down at the test on the desktop.
“Go ahead,” I tell her. “See what it says.”
I don’t really have any doubt what the result will be, and when Raya flips it over and her eyes light up, I know that I’m right.
Griffin howls happily in my head, and at that moment, I feel that all my dreams have come true.
