I’m concerned when Yvette and I return to the castle and the guard tells me that Raya and Bertie aren’t back yet, but Yvette brushes my worry aside.
“You would feel if something happened to her,” she points out. “And you know what Bertie’s like. He’s probably leading her on some wild goose chase through the forest.”
The thought of Raya’s and Bertie’s wolves having fun together makes me smile, and I hope that is what’s keeping them. She’s right that if Raya was in any kind of distress, I would feel it through our bond, I’m just not used to that yet since our bond is still so new. I could mind-link Raya to check in, but I don’t want to interrupt her if they are just having a good time. She could use a little levity after everything that has happened in the last few days.
