Chapter 2: First Time Meet That Young Man Part 1

My name is Sion, Sion Eldridge. I was born and raised in London. I am a Communication Management student. I am now in the middle of my fourth year. Soon I will be doing my internship. I am a person who likes to eat, but I take care of my body by exercising diligently, so even though I like to eat, my body is still fit and has muscles and a six-pack that I can be proud of.

On normal days, when I have free time, I will go to the gym. This time I went to the campus gym, which I rarely go to. When I entered the gym, it turned out that the gym was quite crowded. I walked in and started off with a little warm-up. Some people at the gym greeted me with, "Sion", "Senior".

I just smiled and greeted people who, actually, I don't really remember who they were, but for sure they were my juniors. After that, I warmed up again for a while before I finally really started my exercise.

I was so focused on my own activities that when I was using the barbell to train my arm muscles, I saw a man who looked very handsome with an athletic body not much different from mine, plus his tan skin, but he also looked cute at the same time. The boy who seemed to be younger than me walked not far from me, past me, and talked to the person beside him. I glance at him until I forget the barbell I'm lifting. I see him using the treadmill, his long and tight legs are visible and fit perfectly with his slim body. His handsome face makes me unable to take my eyes off my heart.

"Sion?", I was surprised because someone suddenly tapped my shoulder, who turned out to be my classmate in one of the courses.

"Oh, Brian. You here too?", I lowered my barbell and turned to Brian who was standing next to me with his bag on his shoulder.

"Yes, I've been here for a long time and now I'm going home. I see you've been here for a long time, don't you want to go home now?", asked Brian, who rolled up the sleeves of his long shirt to my elbow.

I glanced at the young man earlier but he had disappeared. I looked for him but couldn't find him. I sighed and finally answered my friend's question, "Oh, yes. I think I'm going home now".

"Then you want to have dinner with me before going home? I'm very hungry after exercise", said Brian, who invited me to dinner.

"Okay, okay," I agreed.

"I'll clean up first, you just wait outside the gym", I said. I would return the barbell I used first.

"Okay, I'll wait at the exit", Brian said before patting me on the shoulder and walking away.

I lifted my barbell and was about to take it to its storage area, but when I turned around I saw the handsome boy who was walking toward me earlier. I was very impressed by his good looks. He is very similar to the Chinese actor whose films were quite popular in England; the films I watched when I was a child. This time the handsome man looked at me and gave a polite smile. When he confronted me, he saluted like a junior saluting a senior, "Hello, Senior".

I was very surprised that he greeted me at first. Could it be that he realized that I was staring at him all the time? I feel embarrassed, but I try to be casual and return the greeting politely too, "Hello".

"Looks like you've finished using the barbell, so can I use it?", asked the man who turned out to be not much different from me, so his eyes were almost level with mine. After dealing with him like this, I'm even more impressed with him. His face was handsome, and his eyes were clear and shining, which seemed to show how sincere he was when he treated others.

I seemed to have been daydreaming for too long and stared into his shining eyes, which made his eyes widen slightly and his eyebrows raised as if he was wondering. Those who saw him like that felt that he was trying to be cute or, indeed, he didn't realize that his handsome face and expression made him cute. Aah, I think I'm starting to become an increasingly weird person. I must say first that I do not feel that I am attracted to men. I have never been sexually attracted to men, but this handsome man in front of me is indeed very charming. He looks handsome and sexy with tan skin and muscles that match his slim body, but, he also looks cute because he looks young with a pretty firm face but still looks like a child too, like a boy who hasn't fully matured. Remnants display their children's features. But that doesn't mean I'm sexually attracted to him, I'm really just blown away by his good looks.

"Oh, yeah. I'm done. You can use it now", I replied, trying to focus and smile as naturally as I could because right now I was really feeling nervous.

“Alright, Senior. Thank you”, this handsome junior took the barbell I gave him and his plump lips seemed to smile sweetly.

He looked at me with a smile on his lips, then the smile disappeared and he looked a little confused, as if he remembered something. The man in front of me suddenly introduced himself, "Oh yes, Senior. My name is Rayan, Rayan Matthew. I'm a journalism student, and now is my first year".

Ah, his name is Rayan and he is my junior. It's just that he's a student from the first year too. No wonder I never saw him until it was only at the end of the semester that we finally met. I smiled at him and started introducing myself, “I'm Sion Eldridge, a third-year communications management student.”

He smiled and said, “Okay. If so, I'll excuse myself. Thanks for the barbell. See you later, Senior."

"Oh", I just nodded his head as he watched him go back to his friend who was walking with him earlier when they entered the gym.

I exited the gym after I finished igniting everything I used and put my things away in the bag. Several times I still glanced at Rayan who was still exercising, he seemed to be joking and smiling with his friends. I don't know what they were talking about but they looked very close. Ah, maybe tomorrow I will come to the university's gym again to exercise.

The next day, I came back to the gym. Not that I expected to meet Rayan. I'm just too lazy to leave university because I will do group work with my friends at university, so before that time, I will exercise for a while at the gym.

I exercised for almost an hour but I didn't see Rayan in the gym at all, even though I'm sure Rayan, with a body like that already, must have been diligent in coming to the gym, but he wasn't there today. Maybe Rayan was on business so he didn't come, especially when he had an exam soon, so there must be a lot of work to do.

During the last few days, I went to the gym. I didn't see Rayan coming for some reason. I felt a little sad because I didn't see him anymore. I think Rayan not only looks handsome and cute but also has something about him that makes me attracted to him. If I have a chance to meet him again, then I want to get closer to him, somehow, but I really want to do it.

The exam lasts for two weeks. I focused on the exam so I don't remember anything else. But every time I pass by the gym, I still remember that young man, Rayan, whose face is hard to forget, added to the look in his eyes. Hah, today, I have an exam at 1 pm, a very bad time to focus on the exam, and better to take a nap. Because I have an appointment with the lecturer and also to take care of my internship needs, I left for campus around 9 am and now it is almost 12 noon. My lecturer took too long to talk to me so I didn't have time to study a little for my exams later and I was very hungry. I decided to go to the cafeteria for a while to buy bread and drinks as a friend for me to study and hold back my hunger.

The canteen is already very crowded, although not as busy as usual, because today many have finished their exams, so not many are on campus. I went to one of the vendors in the cafeteria and was about to buy bread but my ears heard the voice of someone I wanted to see again after almost 3 weeks of not having the chance to meet him. I looked for him and saw the tall handsome man talking to his friend laughing in front of the shop not far from me. I saw him waiting in line and waiting for his order while carrying his dark brown eco-friendly bag. At first, I just wanted to buy drinks and bread before going to class to study while waiting for the exam time to finally cancel my intention and walk over to my junior.

I was embarrassed to say hello at first, so I pretended to be close and as if I didn't see him. And sure enough, as I expected, it was Rayan who would greet me first, “Senior Sion?!”.

I pretended to be surprised and turned to Rayan, “Oh, Rayan. Are you here too?”

I, who actually saw Rayan before but pretended to have just seen him, clearly felt a little guilty for him and also embarrassed. I gave him my best friendly smile and walked over to him. Rayan seemed to be smiling brightly like before and asked me "Are you going to have lunch?".

“Isn't it obvious that I'm going to have lunch? I'm currently in the cafeteria and at lunchtime too”, I thought, hearing Rayan's words, but I still smiled and answered with a nod.

"Then, want to eat with me?", I was surprised by his invitation, because he was with his friends and it would definitely be uncomfortable to eat with seniors who are not well known, but I feel happy because Rayan invited me to eat together, even though I actually wanted to study for a while before the exam but I guess it's fine to have a quick bite with Rayan.

"Oh, okay. It's just right that I'm alone, I have no friends," I answered, agreeing to his invitation.

“Ohh, we are the same. My friend has an exam at 1 pm this afternoon and he just wants to buy a drink and go straight to class to study so I'm alone”, said Rayan, who seemed very happy because he had lunch with friends.

It's just that he doesn't know that I also think the same thing as your friend, but because of you, I didn't do it and gave up my time studying. I smiled and asked him "What did you order?".

"Oh, I just ordered omelet rice, I've been wanting to eat it since this morning," replied Rayan cheerfully.

Wow, how can someone be as bright as him? I really admire him. I didn't know what to order and I didn't want to think too much, so I said to Rayan, "Then I'll just order the same food as you".

“Ohh, I'll order for you too. How about you find a seat for us?”, said Rayan, who was about to get his share to order.

I nodded in agreement and was about to turn to go find an empty seat, but Rayan called me back, “Senior!”.

I immediately turned and listened to his question, "What do you want to drink?".

"Ah, just equate it with you", I answered briefly and was immediately given a thumbs up by Rayan.

I smiled and walked over to one of the tables that no other diners were using and sat waiting for Rayan. I took the book in my bag to read while waiting for the food. While I was reading my book, I glanced at Rayan who was waiting for our food. No matter how many times I see him, I'm still blown away by how handsome he is. His side profile alone looks very handsome, like a perfect sculpture, plus his body proportions and tan skin. He is so perfect in my eyes. I was transfixed because I felt I was admiring something that had never before amazed me like this.

"Hey, Sion. Are you here?”, a female voice suddenly sounded from beside me and made me turn around because my name was called by him.

"Oh, Katherine," I answered briefly to my high school friend, who is now also my college friend.

"What are you doing here, Sion? You're not going to class now, the exam will be in a minute”, asked Katherine, who actually sat in front of me and made me unable to see Rayan who was waiting for our food. I had to tilt my body to see Rayan.

"What are you doing? What's wrong?” asked Katherine again, looking back at what I was looking at.

"I'm going to have lunch first before going to class, you go first," I said to Katherine quietly even though I really wanted to expel her gently.

"Oh, who are you eating with?", asked Katherine again and before I could answer, Rayan had come with a tray of food and drinks for me and Rayan. I immediately got up from my seat and helped Rayan put our food on the table. Rayan glanced at Katherine who was still sitting in front of me and then Rayan lowered his head slightly to greet his senior.

Since Katherine didn't budge from her seat, I shifted and told Rayan to sit next to me, “Rayan, sit here.”

Rayan nodded slowly then sat next to me. Because the seats are very close together, my knee accidentally hit Rayan's knee, and, for some reason, I felt ashamed of myself even though nothing happened. I think I'm starting to go insane.

Katherine looked at Rayan for a while and I saw her. Katherine then stood up and said, "I'm going to class first, you don't want to be late".

"Okay," I answered affirmatively.

I looked at my food and was about to eat it but Rayan suddenly asked in a voice that sounded regretful, “You still have exams after this? Will you be okay if you don't go to class now?”

"No problem, let's eat", I asked Rayan to eat immediately.

I glanced at Rayan who still looked bent on his face, which made me even want to tease him, but I couldn't show this side of me to him so I just said, "Let's hurry up and eat, I'll be late for class".

Rayan immediately turned around and said yes and then immediately ate his food, "Yes".

We eat quickly and I feel awkward and also feel bad for him for making him eat in such a hurry. After finishing eating, I gave money to replace the money to pay for my meal. Rayan was about to refuse but I said that I would pay for the meal for me and for Rayan and just take it as my treat, but Rayan refused. In the end, I just reimbursed Rayan for my food. I was in too much of a hurry because I had an exam so I forgot to ask for his phone number.

I'm so happy to meet Rayan again today and, for some reason, I feel so easy doing my exam today even though I didn't study anymore before the exam. I remember what Rayan said before Rayan and I parted ways. Rayan encouraged me with a smile on his handsome face. I remember Rayan's voice encouraging me, "Senior, good luck with the exam".
