Chapter 1
Brittany's POV
"Stay out of trouble now, and live well," the guard said, swinging the gate open.
I nodded, feeling the breeze on my face, but inside, I was empty.
Three years had gone by.
I never thought I'd make it out alive.
It was late autumn, and I was still wearing the same white dress from my arrest day.
My family never visited, never asked anyone to send me clothes.
Whatever. I got used to their indifference.
But Sebastian? He never showed up, and I couldn't get over it.
Last night's prison beating still echoed in my mind, "Look at your filthy self!"
"Think you're still Mrs. Kingsley when you get out?"
"Guess what? The one who paid us to make your life hell? Right your beloved fiancé, Sebastian Kingsley!"
I lost it and asked if it was true. They swore it was.
I couldn't believe it.
Sebastian. My fiancé. Seven years together.
The man I'd die for - orchestrated my torture?
I needed to hit our house and meet him.
******
In Capinuss, the bus cruised through the bustling streets of the capital.
After three years away, everything felt a bit off, like I was 14 all over again.
Back then, my dad, Yohan Sullivan, brought me from our small town to the city.
He got me into this top-notch elite school, but my sister, Kayla, wasn't kind to me.
Thanks to her schemes, the rich kids made me their target.
One stormy night, they locked me in an outdoor bathroom stall.
The wind howled like a banshee, the lights went out, and I was left in pitch darkness, cold and scared.
Just when I thought I'd freeze to death, Sebastian showed up.
He kicked open the bathroom door and pulled me out of the nightmare.
From that moment, I fell hopelessly in love with him, chasing after him for seven years.
And we spent seven blissful years together.
Until the day I turned 21, Kayla set me up.
All my parents' bottled-up resentment, fueled by her schemes, finally exploded.
"Yeah, Kayla isn't our blood, but what did she do wrong? She's been with us for over a decade, and now that we've brought you back, what more do you want?"
"Brittany, how could you do this to your sister? Not growing with us shows - You're not as well-behaved as Kayla."
What had I done? Everyone accused me of kidnapping and planning to humiliate Kayla.
Nobody even asked my side. They just threw me into prison.
And Sebastian was the one who carried it out.
I remember when he sent me to prison, he was as dignified as ever, his sharp suit making his young, handsome face look even more pristine and noble.
"Enjoy your time in prison. Just think about what you've done!"
He looked at me coldly, devoid of any emotion.
Since then, I never saw him again.
Today, I finally got out of prison, ready to explain everything to him.
I fished out the key to our place, heart pounding as I stepped inside the home I'd dreamed about for three long years.
It was perfect, and I was terrified my messed-up self might taint it.
"Mmm... Sebastian, that feels so good..."
when the door opening,a sweet, sultry voice sliced through the air.
I froze. The room was thick with a heavy scent.
Upstairs, in the bedroom, Kayla's moans pierced my ears, "Oh... Sebastian, you're amazing..."
"I've got more for you," Sebastian grunted, his thrusts growing harder. "Babe, it's your birthday, and I've got an even wilder gift for you."
"What is it?" Kayla teased, nibbling his earlobe, her voice sending shivers down his spine, making him move with renewed intensity.
"Not telling you yet..." Sebastian, like a predator, hungrily bit at her chest. "I'll reveal it at the party later."
"Ah... Sebastian, we've been together for three years, and you still... drive me crazy..."
The wet sounds echoed through here—my wedding room.
My fists clenched tightly, nails digging into the flesh of my palms.
Blood trickled out, and I could feel it, not just from my palms, but from my heart.
Three. f*****g. Years.
They've been together for three years!
No wonder he defended Kayla so fiercely back then, ignoring my side of the story! They played me from the start!
"Ah... ah!"
Kayla giggled, trying to snuggle into his arms, "You're so bold. Your fiancée's out today. Aren't you afraid she'll find out?"
"Fiancée? As if! I, Sebastian, wouldn't stoop to being with a jailbird..."
I stood in the corner outside the door, my heart sinking heavily.
Felt like plunging into an icy abyss.
Sebastian, I loved you for so many years, how could you betray me like this...
And with Kayla, of all people.
The person I hate the most!
I couldn't bear to stay here any longer. I turned to run away.
Suddenly, pain shot through my forehead as I collided with a strong man's chest.
His muscles were like steel, making my arm ache slightly. His body heat burned into my palm.
I almost fell, and then I grabbed his sleeve.
