Chapter Five This is just weird, especially coming from him.   Mint Heart’s Point of View Blue had driven us to a high-end store.     While I am not someone who has enough money to know the difference between high-end stores and not, it was easy to spot as there is no single tag price in the clothes. The clothes that the people have in the place are nothing but exquisite. Like something that one could see in nothing but television.      I let out a small sniff as I hugged myself closer, unsure as to why I was pulled inside this place. Looking around, I do not see anything that will subside the cold that is surrounding me. The man has such an obnoxious need for his place to seem like it’s made of nothing but ice.      While I struggled to do something, Alpha Leighton did not even hesitate as he gad grabbed a pair that was for him, asking them for a fit in his size and automatically entering a room for him to try the wardrobe.      Must be nice.      I, on the other hand, was shaking on the side as Blue as beside me.     Can they shut that AC down, or is that asking for too much?      “Excuse me, miss.” A lady smiled as she saw me, bowing slightly. Despite the smile printed into her face, I know that she does not mean well with the sneer that wanted to escape from her mouth. “An omega like you can wait outside, you are disrupting the mood inside this place.”     I knew it.     Which is why she had waited until Alpha Leighton had left before she had approached me.     Blue crackled a laugh at her words as she seemed really serious, wanting me to get out of the store as my wet water was slowly collecting puddles to where I am standing. While Blue never said anything, there was something in his eyes that was different. The crooked smile printed in his lips seemed to have meant something… sinister.     My body shivered at that.     Remembering how over domineering their pack was, it would not be a surprise that he has some trick pulled into his sleeves. He was not mincing the lady to act as she should, and I was confused. Maybe everyone in his pack hated my kind and I needed to accept that, as I should.     I nodded, pulling Alpha Leighton’s jacket close to me. “O… okay.”     My feet quickly slipped outside the door, moving to the side where I could not be a hindrance to people walking as I shook in nothing but the cold gathering in this place. Not only had it started raining but the coat that was covering me was also wet, given that the Alpha had dived in without having to pull out any article of his clothing.     The rain had always put me in a terrible mood.     Wolves loved these water dripping from the cry, but I always feel nothing but sadness whenever I see them. It all started when I was a child, even when I do not know much… there was my hatred with the rain. My friends automatically grew aware of it.     Carefully sticking my hand to touch the rain, a nostalgic smile appeared in my lips.      Past… really does ruin people.      “What am I even doing here? He is finally in a room, so maybe I could do something about my situation.” I muttered, looking around as I frowned at the sight before me. It was a busy street, people were running around and the cars could get dangerously fast in some instances. “Maybe I should just walk on that busy road and get hit as soon as I could? That would be good, and he can’t blame me for that..”     I nodded, feet were light, and were about to take a single step when a rough voice barked behind me.      “I like to see you try to take a single step to that busy street, woman.”     I jumped, looking to my side and quickly screaming as the rain caught into me, having me jump to where I was as I looked at the raging man. His face is nothing but sneering in nothing but anger, the coarse running through his eyes was nothing but rough. Why do I keep having suicidal thoughts while he was there to witness or hear it?     “What are you doing outdoor when it's bloody raining? Are you a fool?” He frowned, crossing his arms. The small lift of his head as his eyes grew nothing but sharp into mine made my heart jump. Not in a good way, that is. He has a look that could make a grown man cry. “Are you earnestly pondering of going away and destroying yourself?”     I copied his face, but I was sure that it seemed pathetic rather than scary. My legs shake to the cold and I let out a small indication of a cold. “The lady kicked me out of the store. An omega like me can wait outside as you find your clothes, so did.”     “Someone from inside had said that?” He questioned, straightening his stand.      “No?” I questioned.      Alpha Leighton just grabbed my hand inside, and while I was annoyed… I seemed to have noticed that his hold on my hand isn’t rough. Actually, it was nothing but light and soothing. The second that he had pushed the door open and my body was welcomed with the cold, I shivered again. He frowned, looking at me as he grabs one of the jackets in one the racks and put it on me.     “What!” I muttered, voice shaking as I pushed it on him. “I’m clearly drenched by the rain and you just put it on me!”     He frowned. “It will shield you in the cold.” I snarled, ready to bark something but he raised a brow in my direction. “Take it and shut up.”       “But -”     “What did I just stated?” He growled.      So demanding.      I rolled my eyes, pulling the material close to me, despite me cringing into the fact that I am drenched. Still, it did warm my body as he had said. The cold that had greeted me from the second I walked into the door is non-existent with the thick material flocked into me.     As I managed to calm myself, that seemed to be the indication for Alpha Leighton to make his own scene. All of a sudden, he had called all the staff before him. They listen blindly, bowing at him with nothing but a tone of respect.     “Now.” He said, looking straight at me. “Who of these crew members had kicked you out?”     “I do not know,” I automatically replied, lying before my teeth as I blink back at him.     Judging by his gruff voice, I knew what he wanted to achieve with that information and I do not think that the woman was really wrong in what she wanted to make. My wet clothes were letting the floors get wet and it was not like I was buying anything seeing that I do not have any money on me.      Not only that, but they all knew about his hatred about the omega.     If ever, that woman was saving me. She must have thought that he was here to kill me and I did not know who I was with. Maybe, I am just giving her some pointers since I do not want her to get fired… or worse, killed.      “You don’t know?” He said, crossing his arms. “Are you dumb?”      I frowned. “No, but I am cold.”      “Woman.” Alpha Leighton barked, clearly annoyed.     My shoulder bobbed, wanting to appear innocent to the lies that continues to spill from my mouth. “I don’t know what to tell you but the phrases of, I do not know.”     “You’ve viewed her five minutes ago.” He replied.     “I was shaking too much that she seemed blurry.”      From my peripheral vision, I could see Blue scoff by my answer. While I know that it’s clearly not possible for that to happen, there was an underlying part of me that did not want any of them to suffer the wrath of the well known ferocious Alpha.       Alpha Leighton frowned at my response, already knowing that I was lying.     “Blue, get in here.” He called, having a man to walk as he was grinning at me. I completely forgot that he was there when that had happened. The man only bowed as Leighton asked the words while looking at me. “Show me the woman who had kicked her out.”     I bite my lips, shaking my head as I look at him. “Okay fine! I will confess!” I said, completely in defeat.     “Excellent.” Alpha Leighton nodded as he beckoned me to the staff members. “Point that woman to my face. I want to see who had the right to kick you when they saw that I had walked in with you by my side.”      I nodded, bowing my head. “No one did, I wanted to escape.”     Blue released a soft chuckle to the side, shaking his head. “She’s good, Alpha.”      “Blue!” I hissed, glaring at him. Looking back to the Alpha who does not seem pleased, I had only sighed. “You caught me, I wanted to run away and escape.”      He c****d a brow in my direction. “That’s why you’re idling outside the door? Because you plan on leaving?”     “Yes.” I nodded.       “You are a fool.” He said, turning his face away from me as he faced the staff who had shuddered into his presence and bowed before him. Without so much of an emotion, he said a single word of command that ended my lies. “Blue.”      The man chuckled, muttering a soft apology into my side as he had pointed at the woman who was shaking in her place. I was nothing but terrified, unknown of what he wanted to do to her. Seeing that he has no problem in blindly killing someone in cold blood, there are a number of things that are going through my mind.      “Wait,” I said, moving close to him. “She didn’t!”      He had only sighed, looking at me. “Then, gaze at me in the eyes and tell me that she did not do it.”      “That…” I trailed, backing away from him. “I… physically can’t look at you in the eyes. You're scary.”      Alpha Leighton nodded. “Then she’s sentenced.”      “Wait!” My mouth could not help but scream as I grabbed his shoulders. He frowned, but he let me do what I wanted. As my eyes followed him, I grew nothing but transfixed with those beautiful orbs. The beauty in his face was exquisite but it’s a different experience to see his eyes. Not having the control, I managed to blurt out. “You have such beautiful eyes.”      Alpha Leighton raised a brow. “I said, look at me in the eyes and tell me your version of lies, not compliment me.”      “Oh, right! My lies! Forgot about that.” I said, completely out of it.      He nodded. “Right. Your dishonesty.”      I stilled, realizing my words. As I caught his eyes, he had pulled my hands away from him gently as he looked at the staff. There’s nothing but coldness surrounding his body and I could not helpt shiver. I was so stupid! But that’s the link for you. Nobody has the power to do anything when you’re transfixed with your mate.     Everybody knew that.     Which is why he f*****g did it…     Oh my heavens, I am an i***t.      Alpha Leighton is a very influential man and almost everyone knew him and his reign. I could vaguely remember our teacher telling us about his conquest when I was still allowed to go to school and was not cramped into a basement.     “Blue, you know what to do to her.” Alpha Leighton muttered as the man bowed and dragged that woman into the back door.     I frowned, looking at him. “Do you need to do that? She was just doing her job.”     “I am just giving her a promotion for putting you out of this store.”     My face scrunched, already knowing that he was lying about that. There was no way that he was giving her a raise for the way she was reacting like the world had come down on her. Seeing that they were all terrified and scared, I knew that he had done something not completely right with her.      Did her job end because of me?      “She was judging people by looks, and I do not like that in this establishment.” Alpha Leighton only replied as he sat on a couch, pointing to one of the ladies as he looked back at me. “Now, pick some clothes for her.”     “I don’t have money,” I said.     He nodded. “I already grasp that you’re indebted, I have not demanded for your input.”      “Then why am I -ah!”      Not a single person listened as a woman had pulled me into a room, which ended up to be a bathroom. Looking around, I might look like nothing but a crazy person who was catching her own tail but I feel like I was pushed into another dimension. What kind of place has its own freaking shower inside a store?! Inside the door that I was pushed in was a bathrobe that I needed to wear and some towels already prepared for me.     How is this even possible?     Cold and reaching the level of catching some flu, I did take a most awaited bath for such a long time before escaping the room. Before I could even do anything, a single dress was pressed into my direction. I shuddered into having a texture of silk into my arms, knowing how costly they were.     “Uhm…”     The woman offered a small smile. “This is prepared by Alpha Leighton.”      “And… how much is this?” I questioned softly.     “That dress is prepared by the royal highness, especially for Alpha Leighton’s mate.” She smiled, offering her kindness to mine. “So, that would make that price… priceless.”      I cringed. “Her… royal highness!? The Queen!?”      “Yes, of course.”      “No, I am not putting this on,” I said, pushing it to her direction. “I can’t bear to ruin that! There is no way! I can get beheaded by that.”      “Please, Alpha Leighton would be angry if he did not have what he had asked for and we do not want to lose our jobs.” She pleaded with nothing but fear into her eyes.     Then do they want me to be indebted in their store forever?     He is really going to have me killed.     Then again, seeing their faces is nothing but a look of fear had only made me walk into the stalls. It was simple, nothing that was too much for me. So, this seemed to be enough.     I guess.     Walking out of the stall, I have found Alpha Leighton holding a folder in his hand as the other was holding his coffee. He was talking quite seriously with Blue as his nose sniffed the air, automatically looking into my direction. A little conflicted emotion escaped his eyes as he nodded.     “Satisfying to know that you can actually look close enough into being passable.”      I frowned. “Excuse -ah?!”      My hand grew heavy as he hands a coat into my arms. While I know that I wouldn’t be needing it outside, I do come to realize that the dress does not cover much of my body. Does he want me to wear this in the car?      Since it’s cold?      Yet before I could even ask, Alpha Leighton had walked out with Blue already back in the car. The man did not even hand a single card or money as the door was opened for him, and he easily slid inside.      Are they going to leave me here!?      My eyes grew wide, looking behind me to see all the ladies looking at me expectantly. He was not planning to have me pay for the shits he had bought, right?     “Uhm, listen…”      “Woman!”     A voice screamed, having everyone in the room jump as he was on the door, glaring into me, as my eyes were wide and confused at him. Even my hands had flown into my heart as I was nothing but surprised to suddenly hear his voice so loud inside the store.      His hand pointed to the car as he growled the words. “Ride the bloody car before I drag your ass out.”     “But…”     “Immediately.” He said, with nothing but a final tone.     I nodded, walking out into the store guilty as ever as I jumped into the passenger seat, already knowing the man did not want me to seat behind him. Just as I suspected, he sighed in nothing but relief at that reaction having me to settle into the seat.     My eyes moved to the road and seeing the beauty of our city glowing before me. While the dun has yet not descended, there are always this beautiful part of the city that I adore. Whenever there was some available time in our hands, my friends would always take me out since they knew exactly that I am very fond of the view.      It did take me some time until I realized that we were not moving.      Looking at Blue, I frowned. "Are we waiting for someone?"      "Yes." He nodded.      "Who?" I questioned.     “Please fasten your seatbelt,” Blue muttered, not starting his car. There was a small smile that he was offering me. He really seemed like a dad, which is a good thing. Since I am confused with his answer, he continued it quietly. “I am afraid we cannot drive off without you strapping your seatbelt.”     “Oh,” I replied, pulling the seatbelt as I whispered a soft apology.     Blue only nodded as he drives off slowly, the man behind us was still reading some folder, as his forehead would crease once in a while. I know that based on the structure of his envelope, it holds the crest of his pack… he was reading through the reports.     Our Alpha has the same folder and usually, they would have me check it since all the members of the pack had thought that I am the future Luna of the pack, since Carson had always been fond of me. It was nothing but words with such long lengths. I do not see myself getting familiar with reading those things.      From what I had heard to the passing words from the warriors and how they talk in my old pack had ensued, it would seem like he was here to check on the allies that his pack has. It was why he had to visit our pack, let us meet and thankfully giving me a chance to escape from that horrid place.     “What?” Blue muttered, making me look at him as he looked back into the back seat.      I copied his reaction, confused with his sudden voice in the car. We had been driving in silence, or maybe I was just by myself and thinking about things. My eyes moved to the mirror, automatically catching Alpha Leighton with a fierce look so I only looked forward and minded my own business. Maybe he had said something while I was zoning out. Just as I was about to settle into my own thoughts, Blue had cut the silence.      “What is your name?” He asked.     Looking at him, I frowned. “My name?”     “Yes, tell me your name. I am aware that you know mine, it is only mandatory that I know yours.” He nodded, gulping the words as a soft chuckle escaped from him. While it seemed obvious, why does it seem like his words were not his own? With a kind smile, he added. “I wanted to now.”     I smiled, nodding gently at him. “I am sorry for not introducing myself. My name is Mint.”     He nodded, seemingly wanting to end the conversation with that information before he coughed. Another question escaped from him after another, confusing me about why the man was very interested in knowing more about me. It was nothing personal, though.      I wonder why that is.
