LOST IN ROME

Jason sat down alone on the beach trying to recall what exactly happened and why Clayton decided to send him all the way to Rome, and what kind of plans he had for the organization. Jason had been ordered to take out Clayton, but he couldn't bring himself to do it despite the countless opportunities he had. It was because of the deep friendship and connection they shared, they knew each other since they were 4 and he could not imagine killing someone he considers a brother. He knows that sooner or later he is going to have to make a choice which will be either Clayton's life or his(be considered a traitor and be hunted too),The whole Scenario kept replaying all over in his mind and he also couldn't seem to forget his last encounter with Clayton in the alley "Clayton, stop!!!!" Jason shouted as he chased Clayton through the New York times square. They ran into dark alley, which was a dead end, Clayton turned to face Jason and asked him "when are you ever going to be free from the system? You became a yes man to everybody and had no time for yourself, they took our freedom away from us and it's only a matter of time before our services aren't needed anymore and we are all hunted just like what happened to me, well I chose to take my freedom back Jason and I am not turning back" Jason replied, "Yeah that was your choice against the agency but you didn't have to kill Cathy cause she didn't agree to follow you, you didn't give her the so called freedom of choice you are talking about". Clayton replied, "that's a mistake that is going to haunt me for the rest of my life, I loved Kathy, I never wanted to pull the trigger, I just wanted to scare her she fought back and my finger pulled out of defense, but I'll learn to live with it. Now shoot me if you are going to or allow me pass and pretend we never had this conversation and we will live our separate lives from now". "Clayton, you know I can't do that it's either you turn yourself in or I do dead or alive, I'm sorry. "I see, I'm sorry too Jason I gave you a chance", all of a sudden Jason felt a tap from the back on his shoulder then everything went black, he could faintly hear Clayton's voice say, "send him all the way to Europe, Rome to be specific he always wanted to go there, somewhere where he is not gonna cause us any trouble again for a while. Jason came to about an hour later, in an airport where Clayton's guys and him were getting ready to board the next plane going to Rome. He looked at the guys whom had held him to ransom and could recognize one of them, it was Jolly Jerry from the pub where they normally had drinks together with Clayton. "Jerry? Clayton has you in this too?" Jason said, Jerry replied," Don't look at me like that Jason, what he offered to pay me is three times what I earn in my normal jobs put together, and you know how much I need the money for my daughter's medications and treatment". "I understand you Jerry, but there is a much better way than this, I promise you" Jason said. "Jason I beg you just comply till we reach our destination, drop you off and we probably will never meet again, I've been given strict orders to kill you if you cause a scene or make trouble, don't make me have to resolve to that" Jerry replied." ok I won't only because I know how much this means to you, I promise to find you a better way once this is all over". "Where are you taking me anyways?" He asked, "Rome" Jerry said. "How convenient", Jason said, " Clayton always knew how badly I wanted to visit Rome". (A WEEK LATER) For a long time Jason did not bother too much about New York or what was going on in the agency, there was a word of truth to what Clayton said, such life hardly gave you time for yourself. He had really been enjoying his time in Rome even though he got here unwillingly, He had fun that hadn't had in while and being a handsome young bachelor he had quite a number of options for romance. With all that in mind Jason had decided that he was not going back to New York, to all the work and stress at least not yet because he also considered those that were after his life, if he was going to go back he had to plan it well, and take down everybody interested in the downfall of the agency, but he also had to consider the way they treated people too and where his own future and loyalty lies no that he refused to carry out a direct order multiple times, and he's sure there must have been spies around who saw him refuse to pull the trigger and kill Clayton when he had the chance, so now the agency are going to be after him too and it's just a matter of time before they find out where he is "hiding".
