Evelyn Everly
It must have been fate. I Evelyn was going to marry Marshal Everly, the wealthiest man in town. He was all the girls talked about at the danced. His family owned the town, well most of it. His house sat on the top hill that over looked this small welcoming town that bordered the river, which lead out to larger body and so on. His family where wel know for starting the town and several around. He did own ship yards and much more that I could not think of at the moment. I was told I was the luckiest girl ever. The world at my feet. He was a bit older, but very handsome. strong jaw line and a muscular frame. His words melted my core as it went up in flames. My momma had always said I was like a rose. Just had to turn my thorns and sharp tongue. I do try, I really do, but never you mind that. I was in fact in full blown believe I was marrying the man od my dreams......So I thought as a laid on the cold hard wooden floors of the mahogany banister starting down at me. Beaten and bruised, broken in every part of my body screaming in agony to be mended. A shadow casted over my broken body stood that man I married with malicious acting and cold dead eyes. Someone else approached as I heard muffled words. " Take her to the cellar. Tell others she had left me, for another man....." being handled and through the bitter cold night air with the xhill of winter dancing wildly ready to break free and pour its bitterness. The unnamed man pleaded his forgiveness as he gently laid me to my final resting place. He closed the doors and in that silence I heard her. " I told you, you would die before you live, now you live, as I have take them with you." The tightness of the final breath ran out from my lips as the warmth consumed me whole. A memory a few years back flooded my sense. It was my wedding day. A women barged, and grabbed my hand as I sat waiting to be taken the alter. She kissed my hand and spoke, " You will know what to do when its time. You will die before you live. Protect those who need it most." She left in a rush, and nobody could find her. I awoke with the burning desire that consumed my very soul. In thr cellar a cry rang out. My body no longer in pain. My mi d in a different shift, I heard the cry in the cellar. I saw the bones laying there broken and beaten... he was a monster. I heard their cry again. Begging for mercy. Begging to be set free from this bandage. I felt their cries and my body boiled. My time as the weak had ended... I was not longer broken. Curling my fingers out from my soul they arose, creatures that answered the cries, of the wronged They whispered into my bones. "We are the guardians of the weak, and abandoned. We are your to will as command, but be warned we will not harm the weak and if commanded we will abandon you as the one before, or cosume you as well." I did not feel the fear one should have. I had no fear to give. It was a understanding. I only commanded them once that moment. " Take these bones to their home." They obedient did as I commanded. My start as Lady Everly had started. The house was empty and cleaned. It was dark and quiet. The once moderate happy life as I thought was no more. My mind now knows the truth and so shall you. Marshal was cruel and unlike. Each time the echo of slaps or lasting temper rang through the halls. The truth unfolded before me. Not only my cries but those before me. There had been three ladies before me. Noone knew of them, or if they did, it was kept silent. No whispers, no evidence. nothing, but I heard them, I saw them.... I see them now. He must be given in kind.
