CHAPTER FOUR: THE FEUD Absolutely! Let's pick up where we left off. The billionaire and the hacker are locked in a stand-off, neither willing to back down. The billionaire narrows his eyes at her. "You're lucky I don't have you thrown in jail for trespassing," he growls. "Trespassing?" she scoffs. "You bumped into me, remember? And anyway, I'm not afraid of your money or your threats. I've got skills you can't buy." The billionaire smirks. "Skills? "I could break down your fire walls and destroy you" she said She gives him a smirk of her own, her confidence unwavering. "Oh, please. I could hack into your system before you even have a chance to call security. Your precious firewalls are no match for me." The billionaire's smirk falters for a moment, but then he recovers, his voice dripping with amusement. "And what do you think you could possibly do to me, little hacker? Steal my bank account numbers? Delete my files? You're not the first person to try." "it's a bet indeed" She grins, the adrenaline coursing through her veins. "Well, if you're so sure of yourself, why don't we make this interesting? A little friendly wager, perhaps? If I can hack into your system and steal your most important file before you can stop me, you owe me. And if I fail, I'll give you whatever you want." The billionaire's eyes gleam with amusement. "And what, pray tell, would you want if you win?" "nothing except you go on the internet kneeling at feets and asking for forgiveness" "And that's it?" he asks, his voice laced with disbelief. "No money, no power, no information? You just want me to beg for forgiveness?" She nods, her grin widening. "That's right. I'm not in it for the money or the fame. I want to show you that you're not as untouchable as you think you are. And besides, I'm curious to see if you can swallow your pride for once." He was amused by her naivety "You're a bold one, aren't you?" he says, a hint of admiration in his voice. "But if you think for one second that I'm going to let you walk all over me, you've got another thing coming." He reaches into his pocket and pulls out his phone, tapping a few buttons before looking back up at her. "Here's the deal: You've got one hour to hack into my system, steal my most important file, and get out without being caught. If you fail, I get to do whatever I want to you. With a playful wink, she taps him on the shoulder and turns to leave. "One hour. Don't miss me too much." As she walks away, the billionaire watches her go, his gaze never leaving her figure. For the first time in a long time, he's intrigued. Who is this mysterious woman who dares to challenge him? And more importantly, will she succeed? Simon ran to meet her."what are you doing with Xavier Woods, the richest billionaire in the world" "he needs a little lesson". Meanwhile, back at their (Simon and Mel) apartment, she fires up her computer and begins her hacking work, already devising a plan to infiltrate his system and claim her prize. Peter: As her fingers dance across the keyboard, her confidence begins to wane. The billionaire's firewalls are unlike any she's encountered before, impenetrable layers of security that seem to adapt to her every move. With each passing minute, her frustration grows, until she's forced to admit defeat. She sits back in her chair, her forehead wrinkled with concentration. "Damn it," she mutters to herself. "He's got some serious firepower. Maybe I was too cocky." As she gnaws on her nails, a series of notifications flash across her screen. "Unauthorized access detected," "Critical data breach," "Hacker detected." She freezes, her heart pounding in her chest. "What the hell is going on?" she says, her voice a whisper. "I'm the hacker here!" But before she can investigate further, a new message appears: "Congratulations, you've been hacked. Care to make a deal?" She stares at the screen, her mind racing. The unknown number rings through her apartment, startling her out of her thoughts. She answers the phone, her voice cautious. "Hello? Who's this?" "Well, well, if it isn't the infamous hacker. I'm impressed," a deep, masculine voice replies. "You made it farther than most. But you still lost. And that means you owe me." She swallows hard, already suspecting who's on the other end of the line. "The billionaire," she says, her tone challenging despite her unease. "what is your deal? Be fast I'm impatient" "Melissa Smithfield be a good kitten don't raise your voice at me" "Xavier Woods have some manners" "Oh, we're using last names now?" he says with a chuckle. "Very well, Ms. Smithfield. My deal is simple: You work for me, and I forget about this little stunt you pulled today. You don't work for me, and I expose you as a hacker to the authorities. I'm sure your life on the run won't be very comfortable." Melissa scoffs, her voice filled with defiance. "So, I work for you or get arrested? What a choice." "no I have a better idea, marry me" Marry you? Are you joking?" Melissa says, unable to hide the disbelief in her voice. "Why the hell would I marry you?" Xavier laughs, the sound booming through the phone. "Well, I am a billionaire. And you did try to steal from me. It only seems fair that you pay the price for your mistake. Besides, I could use a feisty little hacker like you by my side." Melissa snorts in derision. "Yeah, right. Like I'd marry you to save my own skin. Melissa hangs up the phone, seething with anger. "Screw him," she mutters under her breath. But before she can fully process her frustration, there's a knock at the door. "Who is it?" she calls out, her hand already on the doorknob. "Room service," a voice replies. But something about the tone is off, a hint of tension that sets off warning bells in Melissa's head. She hesitates, her fingers tightening on the knob. "I didn't order anything." With a bang, the door flies open, and Xavier Woods strides into the room. His presence fills the space, overpowering and intimidating. Melissa takes a step back, her heart racing. "What are you doing here?" she demands, her voice shaking despite her best efforts to appear calm. Xavier smiles, his gaze like a predator sizing up its prey. "Well, you hung up on me, Melissa. I can't have my future bride ignoring me, can I?" He moves closer, his eyes glinting with dark humor. "I'm not marrying you" "Not marrying me?" Xavier repeats, his expression turning cold. "I don't think you understand the situation, Melissa. I'm not asking you to marry me. I'm telling you to marry me." He steps even closer, his eyes hard and unwavering. "You don't have a choice in the matter. You tried to steal from me. This is how you make it right." Melissa stands her ground, despite the fear creeping up her spine. "you don't own me, Xavier No, I don't own you, Melissa," he agrees, his voice silky and dangerous. "But I do own this city. And if you think you can run from me, think again. I have eyes and ears everywhere. You won't get far. So, you can either walk down the aisle with me, or you can face the consequences of your actions. The choice is yours." Melissa glares at him, her resolve hardening. "I'm not afraid of you, Xavier. And I'm not getting married to a psycho like you." Xavier's expression darkens, and he steps forward, his hand gripping her wrist in a painful, unyielding hold. "No, you don't have a choice. You should have thought about that before you tried to mess with me." Without warning, he scoops her up in his arms, her struggles futile against his strength. "Let go of me!" she shouts, but he ignores her protests, carrying her out of the apartment and down the hall. "You can scream all you want," he says coldly. "No one's coming to save you." Just as Xavier reaches the end of the hall, Simon comes barreling around the corner, his expression furious. "Let her go, you son of a b***h!" he shouts, sprinting towards them. Xavier turns to face him, an amused smirk on his face. "Ah, the loyal friend. You're a bit late, aren't you?" Simon draws to a halt, his gaze flicking between Melissa and Xavier. "I'm not leaving without her, Woods. She's not yours to take." xavier's eyes flash with amusement. "Come now, Simon. You can't fool me. You don't love her, not really. She's just a project to you, a way to make yourself feel important. But she's not going to love you back, no matter how hard you try." He shifts his grip on Melissa, who squirms futilely in his arms. "Simon," she says, her voice urgent. "Don't listen to him. We have to get out of here." Simon clenches his jaw, his eyes hardening "Simon why did you arrange a hitman to kill her?" Melissa was filled with horror Simon reels back, his face draining of color. "What? No, I didn't..." His voice trails off as he searches for a way to deny the accusation.
